I believe the series is based on a book that took place in the 90s or earlier, so the show itself is sometimes kind of an odd mix of old and new. Regardless, the department is pretty poorly funded.
 
Are there any TV shows or movies set in the real world where an actor is not playing him/herself, but at some point a double comes in that plays him/her (as in the actual rich Hollywood actor he or she is)?

it was a small silly thought that occurred to me.
 
You know when you arrange stuff in alphabetical order you leave the "The" out if something starts with it? Like The Beatles goes in B for example. Does anyone know if that's the case with "Thee"? I'm not so sure what "thee" means to be honest.

Well, I don't really know what word processors are, but if I skimmed through Wikipedia correctly it's a sort of computer software, and the lesbian police (don't know all the names yet!) wanted computers. And she used Tipp-Ex too!

how do I turn off that search box? It shows up on every site with a search box I go on and it's really annoying.

edit: solved it; I just had to turn off autofill in the settings of the browser I was using.

I don't know if this is happening to everyone or not, but youtube videos aren't showing for me. The sound works and everything but there is like a black box exactly the size of the video in the way, so I can't see anything. If I enlarge the video, the black box stays there in the same size until it eventually covers the whole video again seconds later. When I refresh, it disappears only to come right back as the video starts to play again. I'm using Firefox. You guys know what is going on??????
 
Digging through some shit at my mum's house I found my first pair of Levi's.

They are flared dungarees and have a white label with a big E, I've read that would make them pre-'71, is this right?

Is there any way to date them further?

This one has been bothering me for awhile. Can someone point me to the TV Tropes page in which characters seemingly have one conversation that in reality is taking place hours apart?

For example: characters could be talking in a bar, and someone will ask "what did you do next?"

Cut to them at home, "well, you wouldn't believe me if I told you!"

I've been trying to find the TV Tropes page, but I have a hard time even explaining it, let alone finding the specific article. Can anyone help? Does my question make sense?

It's a guess, but are you referring to the Conversation Cut?
 
So I was at my small local casino yesterday and in the corner there were a group of four old Chinese women playing a game on a green table. It looked like dominos, only the white blocks had symbols on them instead of dots. At the end of every round they'd shuffle the blocks and arrange them randomly. My friend and I watched them for a bit and they never spoke to each-other, changed money, smiled, or did anything else casino-y.

Anyone have any ideas what the hell they were playing?

as a warning, I am barely computer literate.

Been having this computer problem for two weeks. Things will only download to my C: Drive part of my hard drive, which is near full. things won't download to my d: drive part of my hard drive.

I own a windows 7 64 bit home premium from dell circa 2010. I have tried googling up answers and none of them have worked. Tried talking with microsoft consumer support...nothing.

I have used the "free up disk space" program but it's not very effective.

I have deleted everything that is nonessential. I have malwarebytes, microsoft security essentials, java, and I use opera instead of others due to its low virtual memory use.

I want to be able to download things to the D part of my hard drive. There I have a lot of space available to use. I am unable to update my security programs because of only having a few kb's left of space.

Thank you for your help.
