Sorry it took so long to reply! I forgot I asked about this, and then it came up in conversation tonight.

So, my other friend thinks she remembers that the mother was "auditioning" the man to be a father. She claims it looked like it took place over a short period of time, with the mother making the guy go through all these different holiday scenarios? Like, one day was Valentines day, and Christmas, and this and that. I feel more dumb as I describe this movie....

Hey, I doubt this will get answered, but maybe I'll get lucky. Google hasn't helped either.

So, I have a Nexus 7 tablet, but one of the most annoying things about it is that I can't tell if it's on. For example, I just went to grab and use it for the first time in a while, only to learn it's been freaking sitting there on at 0 battery for about 2 weeks. Makes me feel absolutely wonderful =/

Is there any way I can set it so it auto turns off, has some kind of indication that it's on or in sleep mode, or SOMETHING so that this doesn't happen again? Clicking the power button to check sucks because if it's off, then it has to boot up which takes over a minute and wastes battery.

I was watching a video from Discovery News a few months ago and I seem to recall that it claimed there is no objective way to prove that we do all see the same colors.
 
What are some other podcasts that are like Cracked? (ie informative, interesting discussions, thought provoking)

Bonus points if it updates frequently/regularly.

I'm not too familiar with non-comedy discussion style podcasts but here are some I listen to for trivia/pop science.

Freakonomics is kinda like that but both are more about presenting a topic than an actual discussion, though they do talk to various people in the field. Radiolab is similar but more wide ranging (and way overproduced but people seem to like it).

I kinda gave up on Stuff You Should Know but it's mostly two people discussing facts in a more casual, less produced setting.

This American Life has a huge variety of topics from how people linked to the Boston Marathon Bomber were treated after the fact to following salesman in a car dealership seeing how they deal with trying to meet quotas to an investigation about a doctor seemingly giving out fraudulent disability claims in a poor community. The bigger stories are usually long term researched articles condensed into an podcast so you can find more indepth info later.

Why is it always such a big deal with a single is released from an album that was released earlier? The song was already available as soon as the album was released.

Are single releases effectively the day that the song is fully acknowledged by an artist, and given a video, etc?

Is there a way to delete a Sticther account? They keep sending me emails, I unsubscribed but that didn't take. Anyway, I'd rather just be free of the account. I don't even remember why I have one. Must have heard about it on a podcast awhile ago, tried it for 30 seconds, hated it, and never looked back
 
Has anyone noticed the YouTube large player size change?

Honestly I think it's a little too big, and I prefer the original one.
 
I don't know what happened, but I can't stream soundcloud music anymore. All I see is a picture of a cloud, and that's it. I even updated flash player, and still nothing.

If you use noscript check which domains are allowed. When I've had issues that's always been the cause.

Hmmm. That's odd. I never had this problem a few days ago. I did have to do a system restore a few days ago, so I'm wondering if something happened. Windows files are updated and everything. =\

I'd think that is pretty much the definition unless there is some reason that only women could do the job ie if he is hiring models for female clothes.

He says it's because he prefers to work with women. Men can easily do the job. I wasn't going to sue him or anything I was just wondering if I was just reading into it to much. We are short handed right now and I have to work more hours than I want because "99% of applicants are men." When he could easily hire a guy to fill the spot instead of waiting for a female that he likes to apply.
 
Ok this one is really dumb but how do I quote multiple posters in the same post? I use the quote button beside a persons name but I don't know how rto add other quotes without erasing what I've written. I was never much of a forum guy before Gaf so have sympathy.

Use that plus symbol next to "quote".

I'm a dummy, never even tried the plus symbol so cheers for that. I would usually copy and paste but thats a lot of hassle man if theres lots of posters I want to reply to.

That would probably be the cause.
If you haven't already try another browser to see if it isn't just a problem with one program.

Beyond that I'd just be blindly guessing at thing you could try.

Things like the experience of color and all acute senses are called "qualia" and are an important subtopic in phenomenological philosophy. It gets cooler and cooler the more you look into it.
 
Guys, my girl and I are just getting into geocaching. On her way to work she found one with an, I'm assuming prepaid, debit card in it! We've not seen one like this before though.

Obviously it's a discover card but I can't find any similar ones online. There's no magnetic strip and no numbers save the 16 main ones.How the fuck do we check the balance? I'd love a link to a site or some insight how to proceed here!

Guys, guys, not really a stupid question but here it goes.

How does having access to 2 PSN accounts (USA + JPN) work on a PSVita 2000/Slim? Since the system itself has internal 1GB of storage, does PSN still requires you to use a separate memory card for each account?

All I know is I can play retail games without ever buying the mem cards, but what about having access to multiple PSNs?

I had a melanoma removed on my face in August of last year. Scar is relatively good, but...

When I wake in the morning, the scar is almost invisible. You can't tell it's there at all. Come night time however, it's red and very noticeable. Will this eventually stop happening? I wear sunscreen over it but that doesn't help. I'd be super happy if it stayed how it was in the morning, all day haha :3

As far as I know this is perfectly normal and an indication of normal blood flow as part of the healing process.

The tissue is still very thin and the blood vessels show through. When you sleep your body is in standby (and the cardiovascular system is in "low stress mode"). At work, you're standing up and spend most of your time actively doing something or other, so your blood is being pumped much more fiercely, widening the vessels - and thus deepening the color.

Nothing you can do but wait. As the scar heals further it should stop doing that. Just don't overstress yourself, eat healthy food if you normally don't, and wait for nature to take care of itself.

Bonus: Stay out of the sun as much as possible for the time being (or keep applying that sun blocker at SPF15 or better - use a product that's unlikely to cause allergic reactions).

Source: Me (had a 25cm wound on my leg as a kid), my family (both my dad and my stepmom got blindsided by a car a few years ago).
 
Neogaf is suddenly white for me(really blinding btw :P). I can't seem to find the dark theme option anywhere. what am i missing?
