What would be the easiest cheapest way of getting my hands on the Super Mario Galaxy platinum ost? I have had my eyes on it for almost 3 years but the problem is that eBay and amazon prices are more then I'm willing to pay.

I live in a poorly insulated flat, where the bathroom has no extractor fan or equivalent. It's fairly cold here in UK so I tend to just open all the doors in the flat after a shower to make sure the condensation and steam dissipates ASAP.

The bathroom walls have begun to show mould building up. Without opening the windows and cranking up the radiators, is there anything I can do?

This stuff may help - http://www.damprid.com/

I still haven't found any, so I'm gonna ask here.

Do you guys know where I can find like a wall mount for Blu-ray movies? A single one for each movie, with the front cover looking out into the room.

Have been looking for a year now. :(

Do anyone know this?

What's up with guys who don't like cuddling?

I'll cuddle with you.

is there a website i can watch free tv channels?

maybe like a constant streaming cnn, bbc, or maybe something funny?

my cable is out and would love some background noise/stuff to listen to for a prolonged period of time....

Best thing is to ask them. It can vary for lots of reasons like, they are overly protective of personal space, they don't want to appear 'soft' in public, worried they will get 'excited', see it as a sign of being more serious etc etc. Very much depends on the relationship between the two people and where the cuddling is taking place.

IMO cuddling is all good, I only wouldn't if I was with someone and another girl wanted to cuddle. Hugs would be fine of course =P

Don't want to make a thread, so.

My Universities wifi really sucks this year, like down to 500 kb/s sometimes, so I want to make it a wired connection when I'm in my room. The problem is that they require me to download McAfee to use it, but I already have Kaspersky which I paid for. Will having 2 anti-viruses on my computer have any ill effects?

Yes, and WTF is wrong with your admins? That's crazy.

So which is the better antivirus? Cause if it isn't McAfee i will stay wireless.

Both have their issues. Kaspersky is good in terms of detection and removal, but cripples performance on a bad day; McAfee has occasional issues removing malware cleanly, but comes with an impressive variety of tools. They both do what they're supposed to do: Give you a basic protection against the general onslaught. You shouldn't ever expect more.

I wouldn't go with either. But in a pinch, if I had to pick between the two or die, I personally would go with McAfee.

Note that I'm biased against Kaspersky because I had the software for 2 years on recommendation and it couldn't really compete meaningfully with free alternatives, but it really slowed things down. This might be irrelevant to you.

Your admins should give you a catalogue of recommended AV packages, among which you should find software that is free for personal use. If they only offer one solution, and especially if it's as bloated as McAfee, then they're either inexperienced or there's some money thing going on.

Of course, they cannot possibly check whether or not McAfee runs unless it's a modified version that supports this feature. So you should be able to lie and get away with it in this case.

I feel you man. Somewhere something happened and now all I see if mould build up in bathrooms, everywhere. It's horrible.

Best of luck sorting it out.

Well I don't really have to option to disable McAfee any more, I installed McAfee and for whatever reason Kaspersky was deleted from my computer without me doing anything.

Why did you install it? I thought that all you had to do was download it.

Anyway, download Kaspersky, disconnect from the internet, uninstall McAfee, then install Kaspersky, then connect to the internet again. Relevant here is the McAfee removal tool: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507 (read it thoroughly)
You'll need your Kaspersky key.

Stupidity on my part would be why I installed it I guess. But the kaspersky site appears to be down so and I don't have a disc to download it, so I will have to go with what I got for a little while anyway.

Thanks for the help though, I will try to fix my situation in a bit.

Why does my Firefox browser keep automatically changing the address bar's search engine to Yahoo?

I know how to change it to Google. I go to the about:config page within Firefox and I type keyword.url. Then I go through the annoying process of looking through my bookmarks to find out the exact fucking URL that I type into the "keyword.url" text box. Because noooo, it can't just be as simple as www.google.com. It has to be some long URL with a bunch of numbers appended.

I'm sick of doing that. Whenever I close and re-open Firefox the address bar search engine reverts to Yahoo.

That was what I came up with. Thanks.

Someone polluted my mind and confused me by saying it is actually trans-2-methyl-3-hexene.

Any objections to trans-3-heptene? Anyone?

It's definitely not trans-2-methyl-hexene because no matter how you count carbons, there's no methyl group on the second carbon. All you have is a simple alkene so you only have to worry about cis/trans naming conventions. If you Google images of trans-3-heptene and compare it to the one you supplied you should see that they're one and the same.

The trans-2-methyl-3-hexene made absolutely no sense to me but it's been a long day and I'm not thinking straight so GAF as always is my saviour. I thank you again. Great help.

Classical music is in the public domain if we are talking 1700s-1800s...

but that is just the actual sheet music, right? Because any recorded performances would have been made pretty recently and thus have copyrights attached?

or am I reading this situation wrong?

I want to use public domain, free classical music in a TV show I'm working on, but I'm not sure exactly what I can use.

You can use any of it, so long as its not from a copyrighted recording. Shove the sheet music into a midi or find a really old performance.

I'm confused here.. =/

I just bought a subwoofer and want to connect it to my receiver, so the expert gave me a Coaxial Digital Cable, but is that really what I need? My receiver has a PRE-OUT port but the subwoofer has a left & right port - does this seem right? Because I only have one stick, not one with two, should I just stick it in either left or right?

(the store is closed now).

Yeah, you stick it in one. I think it's the left, but it may not matter.

If I connect my iPod classic to a new laptop with no music or files on iTunes. Will it delete everything on my iPod?

What if I download like 10 songs on the new laptop and then connect my iPod, will it delete everything previously had and only put the new 10 songs?

If it has never been connected to that laptop before then it should ask you if you want to sync automatically. At that point you'll just tell it not to sync. That's how it usually works with most iPods. I don't see why a Classic would be any different.

I'm having some problems with the internet speed of my new laptop in my room: Since last week, my internet download speed in my room had dropped significantly (from 20 Mb to 0,2 Mb). Our router and modem are located underneath my brother's room(about 3 meters down), which is right next to mine (3 meters down and then about 5 meters until you're standing next to the router). In his room, I have a normal speed, but when I go to my room, it drops again.

I tried the same thing with my old laptop but that one didn't have a real significant drop in speed on my room which is weird since the new one should have a better wireless reception system. (it has Signal Up)

Is it possible that something in my room is causing interference? The only new thing I bought was a turtle beach wireless gaming headset but I don't think that could be it. Any suggestions on how to solve this would be welcome.

EDIT: Apparently, it was the gaming headset for some weird reason I don't understand. When I plugged it out, it worked fine again.

I'm having a problem with images loading on Firefox.

Ever since I switched internet providers, certain images would partially load, then the rest of the image space would be taken up by a grey colour. It seems to happen at random, and I haven't found a way to fix it. What's going on?

I have another question, probably stupid:

I just bought a subwoofer today, but it cuts out while watching this movie. Anyone knows what's wrong? It's brand new. =/

Would someone be willing to create a thread that allows perma juniors and new juniors to make requests for thread ideas? I guess there'd have to be one for the OT and one gaming too. I have some great ideas for gaf threads but I have lost that privilege

I doubt a thread would be allowed, but if you pm a more active member they're usually happy to put up a thread for a junior(or credit you for news or whatever).

Sure, why don't you go ahead and make that thread.
