Is there a way to stop career builders from sending me constant emails? I'm using hotmail, btw.

Thanks

EDIT-It says I'm subscribed. I want to block all employers who attach the @site.careerbuilder.com

There should be a way to automatically filter all emails from @site.careerbuilder.com (or that even mention it) to be marked as red or deleted. Not sure how to do that in Hotmail, though. Or why anyone is still using Hotmail in 2012. :P

Alright, thanks. :P I've always heard shitty things about PayPal.

A lot of the complaining I hear about regarding PayPal is the ease with which a buyer (say, from eBay) can get his money back by opening a claim if the seller doesn't have receipts for shipping the item out or not having delivery confirmation or whatnot. There have also been stories of accounts being frozen due to 'suspicious activity' when in reality it was an account set up for donations/charity or a garage developer who got too popular too fast.

If you do something stupid on the Internet what does a large portion of the Internet have to never let you live something down\never let you forget?

Thanks this helps a lot more than anything else. I was finally able to sleep but woke up with the same feeling. Gonna try and deal with it today. Thanks again.
I can sympathize. Good luck.

I see a lot of usernames with "chan" at the end of them. Where does this come from? Is it a reference to something?
-chan is an honorific suffix in Japanese, usually used for children and girls you're familiar with. Sometimes girls use it for boys that they're really close to.

Who knows? I've given up trying to understand why people act in less than kind ways.

I'd rather not. If he is really that interested he can find it for himself.

Edit: fuck it. Go ahead and share. I don't care.

Nor do I. Your past is your past and should be left there.

What do I do with slivers of soap?

Meld them into the new bar of soap [/wartime mentality].

Is there a thread to recommend music that more people should hear? Sorta like the YouTube thread, except for music. If not, would you guys be interested in such a thread?

In Windows7, I have windows explorer pinned to my taskbar. When you click it, it opens up to
the library folder by default. Is there a way to change that? I want it to open up to a different folder. I know I can pin other folders to it but that makes me go through an extra click!

I don't think there is a rolling thread for that like there is stupid questions and funny pics, but it seems like a new one is made every month or two with a different theme. The most recent one I can think of was the "hauntingly beautiful music" thread. If you've got something your dying to share go ahead and make a thread, but try to make the thread themed in a way, like that. Otherwise you're going to get a bunch of people posting a bunch of disparate genres/moods and people aren't going to be as interested in checking stuff out as there will be less that interests them.

When I was a lot younger I had Road Rash 2* for my Megadrive. When you got to the last race and won, rather than show any credits or anything it would just glitch the screen to fuck and stop responding.

At the time I assumed that all the carts were like that, but it just dawned on me I might have had a faulty cart, anyone else remember that happening?

* Fairly sure it was 2, but it might have been the original as I had both

This appears to change what you're looking for:

Though it only shows what to do for Documents or My Computer.

Asked in the gif request thread but ill ask again here just in case. At the very end of this episode of cops there's a guy being arrested for trying to trade his kid in for crack. While he is being arrested a few kids walk down the street with a dog and one sees the camera and waves. Can someone make a gif of the kids walking down the street and the one waving?

Can't believe I forgot about that thread. Shame on me.

Yes but the new one is all grammatically correct and stuff!

I joke but the old one used to wind me up every time I saw it :(.

:o Oh dear lord! :(

In Windows 7, is there a keyboard shortcut for opening a folder in a new window? (i.e. Something that would be akin to ctrl+click for opening websites in a new tab while browsing).

Hold control and double click the folder you want to open in a new window.

Can somebody explain the "art graduate" pose?
I think it is because it allows you to rest one arm on your torso to steady the camera, also possibly putting the camera in center of mass/balance for more stability.

As a expression I guess its just a pose art graduates tend to make when taking a picture that looks different to how people normally take a picture, hence mocking.
YESSS. Thanks :D
No problem =] I didn't know the answer, I just messed around with the keyboard xD Also discovered holding alt and double clicking brings up the folders properties.

I've built up a keen interest in law lately, and I was wondering if I could just go into a courtroom and watch a trial. I'm a university student (not studying law) and live in Vancouver (Canada) if that helps.

Depends on the case, closed court means no one who shouldnt be there can, I don't think theres a reason you can't otherwise.

Are any of you in here surfing the Gaming forum as well?

I'm preparing a thread with a definitive list of Developers and their current projects, only with facts, and it'll be updated constantly. But I want some to check my list which include more than 150 developers already, and tell me if there's anyone missing.

Are anyone up for it?

I posted the 2nd question in this thread, and still somehow it didn't get answered:

"So my roommate has XP and I have Windows 7. I shared some folders on his comp and I can access them through mine, it's super easy, there's a "network shared folders" thingie on the left side of windows explorer where I can see his shared folders.

When I get on his computer, I don't know how to access the shared folders on my computer, so he can grab my files. How do I do this in XP?
"

I wish the tech support thread was active. Maybe I'll bump it.

It's been a long time since I've used XP, but I believe you had to open explorer and navigate to "network places" and it was somewhere under there. Can't get much more specific than that by memory.

How come Steve Jobs' net worth was considerably less than Bill Gates' despite Apple being worth so much more than Microsoft?

Dude, how fucking old are you? Windows has dominated the computer market for 20 years. The iPhone has made Apple a lot of money recently, but Microsoft has had a huge market share for a much longer time. And besides that Bill Gates is extremely charitable with his money, having given away billions of dollars, where as Steve Jobs was a tight wad. The only reason Bill Gates isn't still the richest person in the world is because of how much he's given away.
