Why can't the ps3 play FLAC or lossless audio?
CeEyg.jpg

There is no good reason really. They would probably justify it with the fact its unnecessary because most people wouldn't use the feature.

But you can ask for it on the Playstation.Blog Share
http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2010/03/18/flac-support-for-the-ps3/

As you can see there are loads more features that are much more requested.

What can I take to keep me awake? Coffee does not work on me for some damn reason.

Take a walk. If done correctly, your body is so confused by the unexpected activity at the wrong time that you get to stay awake for a couple of extra hours at the cost of a screwy sleep schedule for a week.

Sit on your hands.

Yes, really.

It is a taoist trick.

Sit so you are sitting on your buttocks, directly on top of your palms.

Energy from your palms [one of the main energy exchange points in the body] will go to your kidneys and adrenals and give you an energy boost.

It works. Try it.

Just use the FireWire cable, so much faster.

Plug the new and old together with the FireWire, and start the old one up holding the "T" key at startup.

It will boot as an external FireWire drive and you can now drag files onto your new comp as if you had them on an external drive.

I'm buying a new MacMini later this week and I have a question about transferring content from my current MacMini (2007 Intel Core Duo) to the new one. Last time I did this I needed a Firewire cable and it was a huge pain in the ass, but that may have been due to my old Mac (At that time) being a PowerPC G3.

Anyways, onto the question: Do I still need a Firewire cable (I don't know what happened to the one I bought) or can I transfer my data through Ethernet or wireless communication?

I've searched on Google and Apple's site, but all the information I find is on transferring from PowerPC to Intel Mac's.

So, I got a new router. It's all setup. It's secured with the highest encryption. Besides custom firmware (which I'm not doing) are there any other "needed" things I should do?

No, not really. If you're running programs like µTorrent you might need to allow specific ports.

Why does an airplane recycle air in the cabin rather than intaking fresh air from outside like a car can? Is it to maintain the internal cabin preasure?

It would be more difficult to do that I think, more things to go wrong. Though I believe they use to do it when you could smoke on flights. Plus at those altitudes there is a lot less oxygen in the air so it would have to be processed anyway. Might as well just recycle the current air and add more oxygen as a closed system.

If someone dies and they have no next-of-kin, what happens to their house?
If no heirs can be found, this could even be long lost cousins etc, then, in the UK at least, all property/belogings/money go to the government which they then auction off. Then that money gets put in the governments coffers. I don't think anything specfically, though using it as aid money would seem best.

There is a TV show in the UK that shows how companies look at a publicly available list of people that have pasted without any immediate next of kin. They then look through censuses etc for family history and find the heirs, for those with estates left that have so much worth, so they can recoup their costs and make a profit. The heirs then sign a contract with the company so that the company will deal with all the legal stuff and paper work in return for 10-15% of the inheritance.

Ok, presumably this could take a long time then? Reason I ask is because my neighbor died a couple years ago and his condo has been sitting there ever since, empty and abandoned, in basically the exact state as the day he died. He was a loner and I'm pretty sure had no family. I was hoping it would have been cleaned out and sold by now, just wondering how much longer it might take for that to happen.

Generally Heir Hunter's won't spend more than a week on it, because passed that point the chances of finding relatives and still making a profit go down (They are very good at what they do)

It might be there forever abandoned. There is usually a certain amount of time they leave for an heir to be found before the government gets it. In the US this vary's by state.

This will give you a bit more information

Was there no mortgage on the house? It should go into probate and auctioned off to repay creditors. If there's no mortgage on the house, move some furniture and a relative in for a couple years and see if you can adversely possess it. :)

Is it heat, vibrations, electricity or something else? What is the proposed mechanism for releasing adrenal hormones?

Oh, I see.

Well some cultures would call it chi, some ki, but it is the basic life force. You can think of it as the Force from Star Wars if that helps! :P

What does it matter though? It works. Try it :P.

My wife's boss has an Xbox 360 that he's never had online. From brand new, it has never had a single ethernet cord plugged into it. He has the new UFC3 and got some DLC card with it that he wants to download... he doesn't have Internet at home (I know... =O) and doesn't know JACK about anything outside of his own technical comfort zone.

If he brings me his 360 and I hook it up to my TV and my network, can I just enter the DLC code with the game in and download it, or do I have to create him a silver account? He has whatever BS account he created when he first plugged it in, but like I said, its never seen Xbox Live.

Shouldn't he be able to use his Windows Live account? He might have one through Office, Hotmail, or whatever other Microsoft service he may use.

Ok, but then what about save files and the like? If they're all associated with his offline account, how will they transfer to his new silver account?

I don't know what else to do but re-reset this router again. My Brother only gets a LAN connection to the Internet. I've tried unplugging the router, modem, a bunch of network tests. Also, it works fine if he is tethered to the router of which he doesn't want to be. Any ideas?

Ok, time for a really stupid question. Also gross.

The rumor presently going around my workplace is that someone found crabs (as in, the STD, not the crustacean) on one of the toilet seats in the bathrooms. This started a debate, and I'm curious: do crab lice live long enough outside of the pubic area for transmission via toilet seat to be possible?

In short: can you catch crabs from a toilet seat???
Possible, yes. Likely, not at all. And certainly no one "found" lice unless they were studying the toilet seat.

Why do Americans say "check please" at a restaurant when they're ready to pay? In Canada we say "bill please" because bills are things you pay after receiving a service (electricity bill, internet service bill, phone bill, etc.)

Maybe Americans say "check please" because they review the check and actually leave a tip. Canadians think they are paying a bill and don't need to leave any gratuity.

He claims it's a "softer" word than 'bill'. But really, I don't recall anyone actually saying "check, please" ever. They just bring it at the right time.

when you say "review the check" I picture you reviewing one of these:

makes no sense at all to me lol

but those definitions posted above help a bit. I still think it makes much more sense calling it a receipt or a bill. Do you guys also say "check from the gas station" or "receipt from the gas station"?

A receipt is what you receive after you pay.

If I need to take someone down in one hit really quickly, where do I strike them? Assume I angered them and they are about to kill me with either their fists or a blunt object.

Time is of the essence.

My toaster has a button marked "Frozen." I assume I'm supposed to push it when heating something frozen. What does it do differently?

Just hazarding a guess, but I would imagine that it started out on a lower heat and toasted much more gradually to thaw first so it didn't just scorch the edges and leave it cold in the center.

Nads, throat, knee cap, depending on what open shot you have. Good luck.

Anyone else get stuff in their recently viewed items list on Amazon that they didn't actually view?

This started happening to me last week and I freaked out because I thought someone hacked my account so I changed my password and things were ok until today and now there's a whole bunch of new stuff in that list that I never looked at.
