I got two leather bracelets for christmas but I don't know how to tie them (and mom didn't pay attention when the store showed her...). One side has two leather strings that are supposed to go through the loop on the other side of the bracelet (or maybe just one string, I dunno). Some sort of knot is supposed to be made so the length can be adjustable on the fly without redoing the knots or removing the bracelet itself. Anyone know how to do this sort of thing? I do have a necklace with a fisherman's knot (I think) that is adjustable but I'm not sure how to make one with this contraption.

I just got a new computer. When I put a youtube video into full screen, the video fades and becomes really dark. I'm using Google Chrome. Any idea why this is happening?

I would suggest making sure you have the latest graphics drivers. Also, does the same problem happen with a different brower like IE?

I already installed them yesterday so I don't think that is the problem. Yeah, the problem persists in Internet Explorer. I've seen people saying that they right clicked the video, chose settings, and then disabled "enable hardware acceleration" and that fixed the problem but it didn't do anything for me.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to put this but I'm also running Windows 8. That may have something to do with it, not sure.

Also, I just realized the same thing happens when going to the Windows home menu. The screen fades until it is dark, and then becomes bright again as I go to my desktop. So it must be something with Windows 8. I'm not sure what though.

Which graphics card do you have? What is your CPU?

Is there a way you can try a different graphics card or use integrated graphics?

Can you also give an example of a video that you're having trouble with? I'm running Windows 8 on my Vaio S laptop that has Radeon & HD3000 graphics. I don't see this problem with my setup.

I suggest you visit a music store and play them before committing to a model. I recently bought a beginner guitar as a gift and the cheapest model I could find in the store that sounded and felt alright was about $300. Everything is more expensive here though, so it's probably about the same quality as those two. What kind of music are you planning to play?

Edit: I also recently had a really bad experience with buying an acoustic instrument online.

Let's say you're completely encased in a sphere of unbreakable material (imagine swimming to the center of a pool of concrete and staying there until it hardens completely, except without air bubbles or any other imperfections). Suppose you can breathe and are otherwise perfectly healthy while encased in this sphere; you just cannot move an iota in any direction since the material is form-fitting. Let's also assume that the sphere is 50 feet in diameter and solid except for the hole which you're occupying.

If someone where to drop this unbreakable sphere from a great height, would the impact affect the person inside at all since his or her body isn't able to move around and bang into things?

Yes, all the internal organs of your body can still move around, and you yourself can be affected by the ripples of force. You would compress against the bottom of concrete and die from impact forces crushing your bones organs into each other and the concrete.

Someone just saw that episode of Torchwood!

Maná, Juanes, Enanitos Verdes. I live in Venezuela and not a single nice guitar will ever be in my price range. (for example, yesterday I saw a wii U for the first time, it costs $2675 and that's the basic model), that's why my only viable option is to buy from Amazon.
Those artists are all new to me, but I'm listening to Los Enanitos Verdes on Spotify as I'm typing this. I was going to suggest a nylon stringed guitar if you're a beginner since it's much easier and friendly to play, but for this type of music a steel stringed acoustic might be the better option. I'd go with the Epiphone since it's prettier.

See also: Iron Man, who dies about twenty times per movie.

Does a brick break when dropped on the floor?

I'm looking at my specs and I'm not exactly sure what's important and what's not so bear with me here. If I give you the wrong thing then just tell me.

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7800
CPU: Intel Pentium CPU G850

Here is the video I was trying to watch.

No, not really. I've tried one once and it was nice, but I have no idea which model it was. Fender also make nice guitars, but I'm more familiar with their electric models.

I figured as much, but I figured I'd ask anyway. After all, this is the thread for that. ;)

No, actually, I've never seen that show. Does something similar happen on that?

Does a brick break when dropped on the floor?

I didn't mean actual cement; I just used that in the example. In my mind I was thinking of a solid, unbreakable object that you somehow manage to get into. :)

Thanks for the answers, everyone!

ok gaf, not sure where to put this so I dug up this thread.. I bought the PS3 3D display and I want to use it as a primary monitor for my laptop. I have it hooked up to be my primary monitor but I want to be able to close my laptop without the image going away. How do I do this? AKA when I close my laptop I don't want the computer to go to sleep..

There might be a better way to do this (I'm not exactly a computer guy), but right click anywhere on the desktop and select 'Properties,' then 'Power' under the screen saver options, and change the option for what your laptop does when it closes.

EDIT: I'm still using XP, so the details might be different. The end result should still be the same, however.

Hi Summary Man.

I'm currently sleeping with a pregnant girl, tbh sex with pregnant ladies isn't actually awesome. So I bought of Amazon a massive black dildo, it was a Friday. She actually didn't like it that much either.

I seriously think that some guys like to bang fat chicks because of a weird womb quirk.

would you recomend epiphone over that fender? any other known brand?

I don't know, it really depends on what kind of guitar you like. A strat or tele is much different from a Les Paul or open hollow bodied stuff. I definitely prefer the Epiphone/Gibson feel of acoustics to Fender. You should go to a Guitar Center and test them out yourself. It's something you have to actually feel in your hands to make a decision, I think.

Just going through some old boxes of games when I noticed a few of the gamecube ones have some pretty beat up cases.

Anyone know a good way to replace the clear plastic sheet the holds the cover? Or is it not easily doable?

How do I do the Photo Manip. like the way they did the black dude in the pic?

I may do something like it for RPJ.

I have a surround sound system that sounds great, but I'd like it to play the music from my phone. It has an iPod/iPhone docking system, but I don't have one so it doesn't help me.

My question is, is there any way to buy a Bluetooth receiver so that I can remotely play my songs over my surround sound system? Does such a device even exist? In my head, I imagine it plugging into the headphone jack in the system, but I honestly don't know if such a thing is even possible.

Sure, I think something like one of these would work:

You might need an adapter if your system only has RCA inputs.

Hello Gents. The news of Mr West having seeded his girlfriend reminded me I hadn't listened to him for a while, so I put Twisted Fantasy on, and was reminded I always wanted to hear the original version of Devil in a New Dress, it was released for free on some website, without the final verse and guitar solo, and I've looked before, but to no avail. Does anyone know where I can get it? I don't mind paying if they're charging for it of course.

I just installed an update for Java. It made Something Awful look fuckin shit. Is there a way to fix that? I want my old clunky interface back ;~;

Try refreshing the page skipping the cache (Ctrl Shift R in Firefox)

Try logging out and back in again (If you are logged into the site)

Maybe a script you use on SA has become broken with the new Java?

Uninstall Java and download the old version that worked : 32 bit / 64 bit (Assuming your on Windows)

So, I was on Fighting Game Community Streams watching PeacefulJay and all of a sudden I get this on the left pane:

You have been blocked from using Twitch/Justin.tv.
Please visit the Support Center for more information on why you may have been banned.

WTF? I don't even enter chats, I don't stream anything. So I sign out of that name, make another account, and bam... same message.

What's the deal?

Did you visit the Support Center or whatever? What did it say there?

If you haven't ever done anything, it might be an IP ban intended for someone else.

Hey all. I've just put an old family vhs tape onto dvd for my sister who has been wanting a copy of the tape for years. My question is, does anyone know what dimensions I should use in MS Paint to create a dvd cover insert? All I have is standard letter paper so keep that in mind. I'm low on ink so I'd hate to use trial and error. Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind. Googling with the laptop yielded better results than with my phone.

If you have Photoshop, you isolate the image so the background is transparent, triple the face onto three separate layers with two final faces and one in the middle, then use the "blur - motion blur" filter on the middle one, reduce the opacity a bit and use a feathered eraser to trim it to your liking.

I hope that makes sense. There are probably a couple ways to do it.

I lost my iPod Touch recently and I think they wiped it. I was not able to track it. I'm planning on getting an iPhone. My question. Can you lock an iOS device from being wiped? I know I can lock an iOS device from being accessed but they can still wipe it.

How do you move bootsector data for win 08?

I downloaded and installed win 8 on hard drive c - upgrade from win 7.
It saved boot sector data on hard drive d, as that has win xp. I know longer want to dual boot and wish to take off hard drive c, but when I do that, start up says: insert boot media...

How do I create a win 08 bootdisk/usb? Web advice implies win 08 beta boot up disk...but I need one for the released version... i.e. the one you buy...

and so going back to the intial question: how do I get win 08 to start up on it's own [after physically having removed the xp hard drive]?
