Stupid Questions |OT| of questions that don't deserve their own threads

I want to ask GAFers about games for iPad, but I have no idea what thread to do so in. The gaming one seems dead, just two pages in over a year. What should I ask in?

I got hooked on and cleared a killer tower defense game called Kingdom Rush over the holidays and am looking for more great tower defense games for it.
 
I've just downloaded the new 310.90 Nvidia drivers and my resolution output changed to 720. Odd, since I've used 1920x1080 for years. When I go to change it through windows, it tells me the recommended resolution is 720. It does let me change to the higher resolution though.

Anyone have any idea why this is?

(Also, when I re-downloaded 310.60, it went back to saying 1920x1080 was recommended.)

Has anyone heard of something like this - whenever I go to youtube on the pc I'm currently on right now and start a video it works for a little bit and then conks out my internet connection to the computer. All my other internet connected devices are fine. On the affected PC I either have to shut down the web browser or sometimes restart the computer entirely.

Look in the Help section for information on templates. You would create a new template that has your favorite formatting options such as page numbers in the footer. Then when you create a new document, you create it from the template.

Have you tried Rockport shoes? I find them to be very light and comfortable. Here's a nice looking pair for $112
 
Help, GAF!

On New Years Day I/someone somehow drunkenly burnt a hole the size of a cigarette into my down jacket. The feathers are coming out, but I'm able to stuff them back in before I lose any. Anyone know how to fix this hole? Is there something I can buy? Should I take it to a seamstress or whatever? Send it back to NorthFace? I'd like the fix to be as unnoticeable as possible, but it's not necessary as long as it's not glaringly obvious. Thanks!

Seamstress probably won't have the goretex to hand. A portion of your jacket would always let in rain, and with down that's a big no no.
 
There are many different ways of traveling and they don't really have that much in common. Why not make a new thread whenever you go to a new destination instead?
 
So I've seen this happen a few times. When I leave an empty cup with chamomille tea bags at the bottom, the next morning the edges look like they were burnt.

What's up with that?

I might look into the seamstress, but I found out I can send in to North Face and have them repair it, but that will probably cost a lot. It's worth a shot though.

This is actually accurate. DNS lookups are locally stored. That means all places you visited just prior to your DNS going down will still be reachable. If you ever have DNS-problems, just switch to google's DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4)
 
Can anyone point me in the direction of data that shows fewer crimes and violent acts are being commited over the last few decades?
 
Are there any realistic animes? Like no superpowers, no pokemon, no 18 year old DTF school girls that look 12 years old, no tentacles, no magic, no worlds where everyone is either shy as fuck or some alpha dude just realistic people doing realistic shit.

Why do I always get really bad red-eye when I smoke weed?

It's something that I've wondered for years and never thought to look into. While my friend's and my consumption is relatively equal to one another and our tolerance's our probably quite high as we've smoked for some years regularly, I find that 9/10 times I get really bad red-eye and they're cool. It causes no problems but it's always been one of those things.
 
A few years back, maybe more than a few, there was this blog telling the story of an african american who travelled to Japan to teach English. I can clearly remember him talking about how the girls were nipping his butt all the time and doing pranks etc because he was so exotic. Anyone know of this blog?
 
I might be paranoid but I thought I should check here just in case.

We just had someone come around my house to sort the internet out (we are switching providers). I was just minding my own business revising from a slideshow on my laptop when I get a message pop up on my computer saying something about something trying to remotely access my IP address. It might be nothing but I thought I should consult the wisdom of GAF before putting in any bank details into websites.

My laptop is a MacBook if that is important to know.
 
Why am I getting a captcha on google several times a day? Searched for viruses/spyware/malware etc., restarted router but nothing works. Is my pc part of a bot system and can formatting solve the problem?

I don't know if it deserves a thread, we'll see. I'm looking for a music video from the 90's of a CGI robot dancing on a dancefloor. He's really square-y and is plugged to the wall by his cord. The music video ends when the robot spins on himself, rolls the cord around him and thus, unplugs it and go back to sleep mode.

Does GAF can help me ?
