I'd like some serious input here because it's on my wishlist right now. I'm looking for something different something to wear when I don't feel like wearing a more traditional looking suit. However, am I going too far with the print and taking a big risk?

Don't do it.

I thought there was shit on my laptop screen. Then I realised it was on the picture of the suit...

Maybe if you were attending the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers 20 year reunion.

Otherwise, no.

Go classic. Let your actions do the talking. If James Bond doesn't wear it, you shouldn't. Can't go wrong with the always right classics.

Basically, that suit is ugh.

well as someone with 8 suits not counting formalwear sometimes you want something a little fun.

Honestly, it's not that CRAZY (although I'd wear it with a solid color shirt to ground it. I think the shirt in the photo makes the whole thing look too busy).

But, like all things, where you would be wearing this is important.

What the frick, lol.

Thought the bird comments were joking. It really does look like a suit that's been bombed.

Classic suits always look good. No need to deviate unless you just really know what you're doing/have someone who does suggest else wise.

Edit: Trying to do something different is fine. But the print just really.. Doesn't look good. Maybe if it wasn't on the pants as well?

If you are looking for a more "casual" suit then you should go for a lighter coloured suit.

Like so.

Failing that wear a darker or more traditional suit colour with a pair of jeans/chinos.

Matching suit trousers with a suit jacket with a repeating design/logo is a big no-no.

Well, you could say you're The Flash for Halloween without having to wear spandex.

So is there anything I post you guys will actually like or what? It's like even the smallest deviation from strict conformity gets backlash.
it's a suit with lightning bolts, the kind of item you don't ask about buying you just buy. you're also posting on a forum that, from what i've seen, doesn't really care about suits/fashion at all. not sure what you expected lol.

I say do it, OP.

Just have confidence. If you're too unsure about the suit it'll show in your body language and posture. If you rock a suit like that you've got to rock it.

If there were far fewer bolts it'd work a lot better. Honestly it looks like a pair of pajamas.

Try posting a different suit and see what happens. A sample size of one doesn't indicate a trend.

You're asking for an opinion, and you just posted a suit where viewed 10 yards away looks like birds took a shit on it.

And then if you get closer you see it's... lightning bolts. I'm not sure why you're expecting people to think it's a good idea.

Suits just don't look good with little patterns all over them. There are suits with unique looks to the cloth that could look good (stripes for example), and there are certainly suits of colors other than black that can look great on the right person.

DO NOT WEAR - seriously

Personally there is nothing wrong with a good suit from Express for us younger folk.

Depends, if you can walk around like a hipster it might be ok, if you actually have to wear a suit for work this is a no go.

Lightening bolts on an item of clothing that is classic and has heritage is not a slight deviation and if you think this is a bad reaction then try buying it and wearing it outside.

If it was lightening bolts on a jumper or T shirt then it would simply come down to tastes, preferences, what you pair it with and whether you can pull it off or not.

If you have to ask someone else before buying it you clearly don't have enough confidence to pull it off regardless.

Sorry, checked the OP's thread history, obviously not a sample size of one. On the other hand, I like the sweatshirt and it had at least a few people liking it.
