Have they detailed the QoL changes like auto battle, difficulty modes etc?
Never played this, been watching it very excited for this release!!! Hope it's as good as people say it is
I kind of felt the same way. If Konami was going to do another Suikoden, they should just re-do Suikoden 1 and 2 from the ground up (like FF remake) I'm sure they wouldn't be capable of making a brand new story, world, etc. Please play the first Suikoden. Nothing like it. Ending got me emotional when I first played this back in 1997.
Sadly, the series gets progressively worse after 2.
Really that good huh? Never had the chance to play these.I am just happy to see the first two games being acknowledged again regardless. Suikoden 1 deserves a playthrough.

Bit of both. Some things were redesigned. If it were purely a remaster, then it would just be upscaling res, textures and maybe making it 60fps.

This is a problem with remasters and remakes. Censorship. They pulled it with the Tomb Raider Remaster.Putting money on all the panty shots being gone.
They do not.I only ever played 3. Do the first 2 also split the narrative between 3 different groups?
Do I double dip on Switch and Steam copy? That is the question.![]()

Yep, and Going to do the same with Lunar!![]()
I'm buying the Switch physical copy and not opening it
I have the originals as well, but still will get these. Could these be better? Sure, but hey, I have a ton of nostalgia for these titles and would rather get these vs most modern games.I'll stick with the originals, which I can play on my PS1. If I want to go better? Duckstation can make it looks really nice.
Just like the Lunar Collection, I'm good. I despise these redesigns and butchered localizations.
If they keep changing original games for stupid reasons, I will not support. Simple as that. If they change Localization to convey what they truly mean? I am all for that.I have the originals as well, but still will get these. Could these be better? About time, been waiting years. I guess I could go dust off my vita, psp or psp classic, but damn I want this on my switch. Can't wait
Me to a T!No time to play this but Suikoden is just insanely good. I might just buy it and put it in the backlog
Yep, planning to do this with the Switch physical copy.No time to play this but Suikoden is just insanely good. I might just buy it and put it in the backlog

Never played the games, did they come out on PS1 originally because i was a Nintendo guy in the 90s and didn't play it. Maybe i'll catch up and play the games now.
IIRC Suikoden 1 had some extra features on the Saturn version. Too bad that isn't coming over in the remake.Yep, PS1 and eventually Saturn IIRC.
It's old but relatively short, and you can import your Suikoden 1 save into 2 for some nice bonuses.I'll probably jump straight to 2, I remember the first one being very old at the time
I would definitely play 1 first, because you can import your save and pick up an extra character that was in 1(if you don't know already know whom it is, I won't spoilI'll probably jump straight to 2, I remember the first one being very old at the time
Genso Suikoden was the first PS1 RPG that I imported. My friends dropped Beyond The Beyond like a hot rock as soon as it landed on my doorstep. It was mind blowing at the time and we never thought it was ever going to come stateside. It was never a pretty game graphically even when it was new-scaling effects in the battles were it for eye candy special effects. The battles were remarkable in their simplicity and flow where attacks came off between simultaneous characters, which had never been seen by any of us at the time. They also loaded really fast, which made us think the PS1 was a powerful machine! When the U.S. version finally came out, I got to experience the full story and it was like a second renaissance all over again. To me, it's the same kind of fun that Nocturne In The Moonlight (Symphony of The Night) has, only in JRPG format and it remains to this day for me.
