It has potential to be astounding, however at this point it was a nice start, especially with the camera angles and action scenes like this.. The tone is vastly different than what I expected.
Dont know what Kotetsu, I mean, Klein was thinking, as Kirito irl form definitely is better than his, good, VR form.
Assuming that the source isnt done, will they have to do some original ending or just never tackle the subject of accomplishing the feat?
Ending song was awesome and I hope, based on those visuals, they keep the romance type stuff really low key, not really a fan of what it may be trying to imply :/

I thought it would be a typical happy feeling type anime like Accel World, but the stakes are so much more higher. Actually being able to die in game and in the real world, instead of just losing the ability to Brain Burst, makes me definitely not wish I lived in this animes universe. Even more it looked pretty creepy when the VR world creator just appeared in that bloody mass and then just vanished like he had died or something. Awkward.

And this is the hypocrisy I'm talking about. Are you really telling me the main audience wants to bang Kirino? Under the assumption that's what the show intends us to do?

Ah. Well, Smile Precure had its Tanabata episode last week and it's pretty good about coinciding its holiday episodes with the week of the actual holiday, so I just assumed it was in the vicinity of last week
I guess that some in Japan must celebrate Tanabata according to the Gregorian calendar if Folktales from Japan and Poyopoyo both addressed it this week.
It's pretty normal for anime to celebrate Tanabata on 7/7. Even Haruhi did it!
I don't really know why else anyone would watch OreImo to be honest. Unless you mean that you're supposed to like the other girls in the show more.
She'd be way more glorified than she was if that was the main reason.

If OreImo really wanted to make Kirino fans out of the audience, it wouldn't have been a cumbersome harem show instead.

Oreimo is a romcom harem using younger sister wish fulfillment shenanigans along with other stock character types thrown in to wide the pool of prospective consumers. Not that there's anything wrong with that per se (many of my favorite shows heavily rely on personal wish fulfillment for their appeal) but in my eyes you gotta call a spade a spade.
Also Kirino is clearly designed to be an appealing character to the audience for better or for worse, I have no idea how anyone can say otherwise.

I thought Kuroneko was the usual subject of doujinshi. At least more than Kirino, who I pretty much despise. I won't even read an ero-doujin with Kirino in it. It's not even exciting! I just get mad.

Because the show is a failed attempt at social commentary and becomes an awful harem comedy instead? The original intent of the show wasn't to whore out Kirino. If it were, it'd be more like Index.

But it is like Index. The main female of the show is the least liked girl in the entire series. The most popular girl gets her own spinoff.

i just watched this and this was pretty much PERFECT as a first episode. the synopsis was great but damn the tension in that plaza ... almost like bomber in "hunter x hunter" .. Something very bad you can't control is happening , you're screwed and then ....

Probably the only person, but I think this anime is pretty great. This episode is definitely up there with some of the ones when Rick is off to find himself. I mean Rick was pretty epic in so many parts of this one.

Kirino is more than just a lightning rod for the audience's sexual desires. She is also a vehicle for wish fulfillment.
Arabian Nights style shounen adventure. It's kinda like Fullmetal Alchemist and One Piece mixed with various inspirations from 1001 Nights. It's pretty cool.
