Got some
new old anime, BD releases of formerly DVD-only things. (Or VHS and LD, as the case may be.)
Genesis Climber Mospeada and the
Akisora OVAs.
Mospeada was made into the third part of the Robotech series in the U.S., which is how I first saw it, growing up in the 80s. Now with this and the
Macross BD, 2/3 of the Robotech source material is out on BD, and the other Super Dimensional series title,
Orguss, also got a BD box, but there's been no word on a BD release for
Southern Cross, the show that was turned into the middle portion of Robotech. It doesn't seem to have many fans...
The
Akisora box includes both OVAs: the one-parter that came with the manga vol. 3 LE, and the later two-parter that was sold as individual DVDs. The former was an SD production, but the latter was HD, so it's nice to have it on BD. The text on the front notes that the "sexy inner jackets" in the bottom right are water-resistant, which I suppose could come in handy. (I mosaiced it just in case, but the red lines cover them up anyway--click for big uncensored version.)
Also picked up the Code Geass Akito sound track and the first drama CD,
Sound Episode 1

Along with Sakamoto Maaya's single collection album,
Mitsubachi, for the Akito opening song, "More Than Words"

I mostly just wanted the Akito OP song, so was going to get the single, but the single CD comes with the music video on DVD, whereas this single collection has it on BD, so figured I'd go for this.
So I will listen to these as I wait patiently for the second Akito OVA/movie to eventually make it out on BD.
And finally, Megami Magazine DELUXE vol. 21 is out this month, with somewhat NSFW
Girls und Panzer cover and
Ro-Kyu-Bu! and
Highschool DxD posters.

1 vote for every dollar spent on anime for the year.
I am OK with this idea.
