Aku no Hana - 13 (END)
Someone, please, tell me right now that Part Two is confirmed. I need it. I need more of this show in my life.
I can't imagine they wouldn't after that giant cocktease they pulled at the end.

The feels hits just keep on coming. ;_________;
The Girl who Leapt through Time
This was a cute movie and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Incredibly bittersweet, amazing animation, great soundtrack, stellar English VA cast, amazing storytelling. But seriously, I did not need these feels in the middle of the day. Beautiful damn film. Why I never watched it prior to now is beyond me.
Well I scanned this up before attempting to make more usage of the blank space on the page. Cajun's request (a bit condensed)
Is this Erika?
Methinks cajunator should stop requesting Erika art and go see the real Erika by watching some GODDAMN HEARTCATCH!
It is indeed Erika. However, he didn't request Erika, he just requested a catgirl, and I wanted to make use of Erika because Tsubomi is already super ultra adorable to the moe'th degree.
Oh. It's always catgirls with that guy.
He should still watch Heartcatch. I don't know what the hell he's waiting for.

Requesting new tag for Cajun.
I haven't reached Stone Ocean yet D:
Steins;Gate doesn't really get going until like episode thirteen. Most of the stuff beforehand is character building. I suggest you drop it.So does Steins; Gate get good? What episode? I'm 3 in and am barely feeling it. My wife and I decided to bail if it doesn't get good by episode 8, is that fair? Also the character archetypes are quite possibly the most annoying I've ever experienced

Well this was a thing which only made me want for more Lucky Star.
Right after FMP is announced!
So for 2014, we'll probably get Hyouka S2, Lucky Star S2, and FMP: S3, and K-On goes to K-ollege?KyoAni will never do another Lucky Star. Putting aside the quality of either, K-On was much more profitable for them and both stories have the same issue that they need to hand wave away of the girls having graduated already.

BEST. FUCKING. EPISODE.
They look like Titans. ._.

It's beautiful, great, wunderbar, délicieux and oh-so-magnificently fucked up. It's AOTY already. Directing is awesome, soundtrack is perfect, background art is imaginative and the tension is nearly palpable.
I rate this series 10/10.
itshappening.gifStudio Pablo (the art team handling the backgrounds on the show) announced that they're working on another Zexecs show scheduled to air in Summer 2014. Could it be another season of Aku no Hana?

The Devil Works at McDonalds - 13 (END)
That was quite the non-ending. I guess they leave it open for an eventual S2?
Very good show overall. Consistently funny, great cast and never lost its stride. I rate it 8/10.
Thanks for reminding me that Stardust Crusaders anime isn't this season...
Well the K-ON! manga did continue after High School. They have material to cover.

Pretty much how I feel.Aku no Hana 13
Though I'm sure those that love the series were more than ecstatic to see the promise of more material being adapted so good for them. Unfortunately the series never did reach the high that was episode 7 after that but it was still a good anime. It's quite something to behold when a talented director, a beautifully subtle soundtrack, and an amazing background art team can create something greatly enjoyable from a source material that I don't really like.
Can't wait for part 2 of Slam Dunk! ;þI can't imagine they wouldn't after that giant cocktease they pulled at the end.
I am not discounting the possibility of this happening (wait, I actually am) but Yamada Naoko has come out to say that she is uninterested in anything K-On! past high school. Now, KyoAni could give it to someone else to direct or KyoAni won't do the season themselves but I would think she has some say in where the franchise goes.
Now watch Wolf Children and Summer Wars?
This is actually my third time watching this episode (got sidetracked with Nadia and didn't bother to pick this back up for whatever reason), and I'm sure I've talked about it before in these threads, but I just want to reiterate how this opener does an extremely good job at translating Yasako's bewilderment to the audience. A lot of the world-building stuff happening here goes with almost no exposition. Mitsuo Iso manages to grasp the concept of visual story-telling firmly, and as a result you get a packed episode with no meandering around while still getting the same sensations of awe and confusion across.
Still have to finish The Count of Monte Cristo and Le Chevalier D'Eon first.
On the fence for Wolf Children
Summer Wars is already on my to watch list.
OreImo - 13 (END)
What's up with the non-endings today? Guess I'll have to wait for an eventual S3 someday.
This season was a lot weaker than the last. Some of the episodes were atrocious. I rate it 5/10.
That pic gave me an idea.Despicable? I dunno, that would be strong. If you read things at face value there is really weird animal abuse all over the place, sure. Watching it left the same impression as a bunch of other harem shows where you see lots of abuse between characters, only one of them is a dog. It seems more sudden, unwarranted, and malicious here than in other places I guess.

By the way, I find it hilarious that Mitsuo Iso's magnum opus is a cartoon about little girls doing (cute) cyber-detective things. Anime!

Kino's Journey 3
This episode is a departure from the first two in a couple of ways. Not only does it focus on a series of short encounters in neighboring countries, but Kino's role is surprisingly passive. She's less of a focal point for the narrative and more of an audience surrogate. Her most noteworthy moment, to me, is during the scene inside the hotel room in the first country where she discusses the prevalent cultism with Hermes. She expresses a much more pragmatic worldview, but I feel like she's closer to them than she realizes. She really does have her own personal religion: traveling. It's more than just a mindset; she strictly adheres to a set of rules (like the three-nights rule) and rituals (drawing her gun long into the night). Kino aside, it is an interesting episode in its own right, juxtaposing countries which follow blind faith and give travelers little attention with countries not bound to any sort of tradition, celebrating outsiders with reverence. The origin story of the prophecies and its cross-cultural spread really clicks when it came full-circle at the end, showing another facet of human nature. How this all plays into that line from the first episode is still a mystery and one I'm determined to figure out.

Accel World episode 14
My god I can't stand Nomi, want someone to knock that smug look off his face already.
Usagi Drop 1-3
Wow, this is a really great series. It only took the first episode to hook me, but I've got a soft spot for stories that are heavy on the slice-of-life stuff.
Dog & Scissors 1
Eh. Not great, not horrific. I'll give it another episode or two.
