I remember when the first episode aired but before it got subbed, all you saw online was a gif of Fuu "running" (I'm sure you know the scene I'm talking about). I don't think I saw so many people lose faith in a medium/director so quickly before. I was kind of funny to watch, especially after it turned out to be a red herring.

But yeah, the show is fantastic. I hope you have a good time with it.

If you mean the scene where she had the bombs in her chest, then I can see how people could get a little discouraged from that. While the art isn't amazing, when the battle's hit the art really shows greatly.

Anything else I feel like noting? Oh yes, the main character is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, which works quite nicely. I don't think I heard anything from that guy last season, which is strange considering he was pretty active in the seasons beforehand (Jin in Sakurasou, Shirokuma in Shirokuma Cafe, Makishima in Psycho-Pass and so forth). At any rate, it looks like he's back with a vengeance this season, since in addition to voicing the main character in this, he's also the main character in Uchoten Kazoku and has a fairly major role in Danganronpa. Can't really complain.

Whew, thankfully my like of Sakurai will be satsified by his other shows so I don't have to watch this one.

So, after a grand total of 3/4 an episode, Regina is evil again. Please, if she's going to be evil, make her overpoweringly, final boss evil. That's the only way I can see it working. As for Cure Ace? Regina being evil again softened the blow, but it really hurts for her to be some probably new character.

Despicable? I dunno, that would be strong. If you read things at face value there is really weird animal abuse all over the place, sure. Watching it left the same impression as a bunch of other harem shows where you see lots of abuse between characters, only one of them is a dog. It seems more sudden, unwarranted, and malicious here than in other places I guess.

Okay so the universe is going to collapse into the Cross Star in the near future. I have nothing to add. Though the Admiral speaks of the ancestors that gave them the technology for spaceships. Weird how they didn't give them other technologies, such as, you know, projectile weapons that aren't arrows (i.e. guns), and actual telecommunications instead of a goddamn telegraph. Fuck, how were those things not even already inside those spaceships?

Oh and Vetti also has Solay in him. Explains his attacks. I bet they're going to say that Vetti and Cleo are brothers or something.

Wait...I thought the biggest issue with escaping the prison was transportation. Where'd that truck come from?

What is Rachel's deal? Why is she so pathetic and desperate for Vetti all of a sudden? Literally nothing changed. She actually aske him how he can be so cruel to her. Here's why: because he's always been that way. You knew this shit? WHat the hell happened? Did his story of how he raped his foster mother, then killed her after they both killed his foster father melt her cold heart? Cause that's some pretty brutal stuff that really should have told her to stay away. And then her father tells her he has no use for a madman like Vetti anymore, and she's all "How can you say such things, father?!" I just...I can't. This makes literally no sense.

And so Vetti and Cleo are the two-headed eagle. And they have a destiny. I forgot her previous tellings. I guess they're gonna bring about the end of the world or something.

Haha! You all thought I was going to watch Umi Monogatari, but I started watching the other anime with "Umi" in the title instead!

So, uh...what the heck did I just watch.

I don't know what this was, but it was pretty amazing I think. There was CG characters that didn't look like ass (what is this has my whole life been a lie) and STUFF HAPPENING EVERYWHERE and GIRLS FLOATING AROUND IN SPACE where they CAN'T BREATHE except when they can because of INCREDIBLY USEFUL UTERUSES and AIR CANDY.

And there were MISSILES EVERYWHERE and LASERS EVEN MORE EVERYWHERE and ROBOTS and GATTAI (except not really) and GIRL-ON-GIRL KISSING with bizarre twists and WAS THAT AN IMPROMPTU TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE. And there is a STRANGE RABBIT COMPUTER THING that talks in TWO DIFFERENT VOICES because WHY NOT and is AWESOME except when it loses its batterytail and then it's kind of useless really.

I...I don't think my mind was ready for this.

Kino's Journey 3

This episode is a departure from the first two in a couple of ways. Not only does it focus on a series of short encounters in neighboring countries, but Kino's role is surprisingly passive. She's less of a focal point for the narrative and more of an audience surrogate. Her most noteworthy moment, to me, is during the scene inside the hotel room in the first country where she discusses the prevalent cultism with Hermes. She expresses a much more pragmatic worldview, but I feel like she's closer to them than she realizes. She really does have her own personal religion: traveling. It's more than just a mindset; she strictly adheres to a set of rules (like the three-nights rule) and rituals (drawing her gun long into the night). Kino aside, it is an interesting episode in its own right, juxtaposing countries which follow blind faith and give travelers little attention with countries not bound to any sort of tradition, celebrating outsiders with reverence. The origin story of the prophecies and its cross-cultural spread really clicks when it came full-circle at the end, showing another facet of human nature. How this all plays into that line from the first episode is still a mystery and one I'm determined to figure out.

I liked it! Not a first episode that jumps the shark, but one that puts a lot of emphasis in the potential of the story. It feels restrained, if that makes sense. Looking forward to more.

Athletic meeting was okay for an original Ep, but I would have preferred if they had just animated the ramen date with the Shizuka and Hikki going out to the movies with Totsuka (OVA please) instead.

Being honest about Oregairu, I didn't really like show this in the beginning. However, the show did improve halfway through the season and by the end of the series, turned out to be another one of my favorites. Hikki is an interesting character, his moments of interacting with everyone in the cast and his descriptions of the reality of the situation makes him a standout inversion to the typical lead. He literally could be described as a "dark hero" whom may complain about the situation he's in, but is a nice enough guy to help out and get things done. Even if his usual methods of solving the problem at hand, involve the quickest and worst way possible. Helps that he's supported by a group of charming characters in their own right (Yui, Yuki, Little sister, Totsuka, Shizuka).

Would look forward to a possible Season 2.

This was a cute movie and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Incredibly bittersweet, amazing animation, great soundtrack, stellar English VA cast, amazing storytelling. But seriously, I did not need these feels in the middle of the day. Beautiful damn film. Why I never watched it prior to now is beyond me.

It depends on how easily you get engaged into the overall plot since that mostly drives the show. If you don't care for it after a bit, there's not much reason to continue. Unless you like the pretty boys.

The characters are actually pretty good (barring Shino) and so is the music.
