I am glad Aku no Hana exists. I wish it was better though. Watching it felt like it lacked appropriate curation and talent. As much as I came to accept the visual style of the show it never cast off the intensely awkward freeze frame moments that felt like time was being filled. The slow aimlessness and repeated meaningless CG backgrounds is one thing, but going out on a lengthy flashback is gross, and theWow, really? I mean... I guess I can't fathom how you could respond that way to the episode or the series, but if that's how you feel...
Still have to finish The Count of Monte Cristo and Le Chevalier D'Eon first.
On the fence for Wolf Children
Summer Wars is already on my to watch list.
Is this Erika?
Methinks cajunator should stop requesting Erika art and go see the real Erika by watching some GODDAMN HEARTCATCH!
cajun doesn't like Umakoshi art
So does Steins; Gate get good? What episode? I'm 3 in and am barely feeling it. My wife and I decided to bail if it doesn't get good by episode 8, is that fair? Also the character archetypes are quite possibly the most annoying I've ever experienced
Dog & Scissors 1
All I take from this is if you buy BL, you are going to die and turn into a dachshund.
Actually I found it somewhat charming in spite the spastic humor. Maybe I'll get lucky and this will get better as it goes along.
It's appropriate to turn into a wiener I suppose.

This show could have been something that could be pointed to and recommended to all sorts of people, but an ending like this kills that opportunity. For the emotional highs the series initially had it just puttered out at the end as real progress stopped.flash forward
Right after FMP is announced!

I feel this is something that could be done within the context of the world. The time skips both ways detach me from the experience and moment to highlight authorial ineptitude of a lousy director who can't do what needs to be done within the allotted time on an episode by episode basis and over the span of the series as a whole. So much more could have been done with thirteen episodes that when the conclusion amounts to little more than an allusion more will come the show just won't leave a very big impression on me.I don't know if it's because I read the manga, but last part of the finale was just amazing to me. lol
I can understand that it doesn't provide any narrative closure, but it also provides a climax of sorts, by suggesting that there journey to the place beyond the hill isn't over.

Of course, it'd be much easier if the series was just 26 episodes, but that just seems to be an impossibility these days.
Kino's Journey 4
While Kino took a backseat to the social commentary in the previous episode, this one was all about her. I never really imagined herto end up like this.origin storyBorn into a terrible dystopia where people are essentially lobotomized and brainwashed into serving whatever purpose society demands. A cog in a machine. The country has even got its own thought-police milling about. "Disposing" of citizens shows how friendship and family mean nothing, and not a trace of any sort of morality can be found on the "adults." If anything, these people aren't human, so I wonder how they fit in with the narrative's central theme. Could you really make the argument that it was human nature that lead to the creation of non-humans? I can't really say, but I found the imagery of the bird in flight to be a great catalyst in Kino's relationship with Hermes. The way the two of them started off without names and then donned some which belonged to a previous traveling duo almost suggests that they represent more than individuals, but rather something constant/universal. Maybe even the facet of human nature I've been searching for.
You will not be disappointed with Wolf Children I promise you.
Get off the fence and put it on top of the list. Wolf Children is more than worth it.
Get the hell off that fence dude. Wolf Children is the bee's knees.
As others have said, if you like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time you need to see Wolf Children as soon as possible.
I wanna watch Ideon but I am afraid it will make me a sobbing mess of misery.
Oki Im gonna watch some of this Juden-Chan show for extreme cute and lewdness.
In a press conference, Gundam Build Fighters was just announced. TV show starting in October. Clearly aimed at the kid market. Looks like Gundam model fighting is the centerpiece of the show.

Fujoshi self-pity is the worst.
Huh? I don't recall that. Which Gundam series was it?
Huh? I don't recall that. Which Gundam series was it?
I don't remember the name. It had short squaty human sized cgi sentient gundams interacting with cgi humans. The villains were like turning the planet into concrete. You had like three main hero gundams.
I that's all I really remember.
Yeah I remember that one when it was airing.SD Gundam from old Toonami?
