Haruka-san does more surprising things, there's a nice photoshoot at the beach and some running with toast as well. And I suddenly feel the need to get some Madazestin Cider.
Huh, the count showed his cards earlier than I expected, poor Albert got played like a fiddle. The end of episode 16, with him confronting Haidee and Monte Cristo's confession in the next ep was some great and powerful stuff.
When he said "armour" I was expecting a cuirass of some sort and not a 10 meter mecha.
Can someone more enlightened in the ways of Toei tell me what are the chances for Kyousougiga Bluray release in US/Europe ? Searched the net and couldn't find nothing on the subject. As I understand it, it didn't do well in Japan.
I love everything about this show now. For whatever reason this old show feels 'fresh' to me if that makes sense at all. Doremi continues to be the best witch.
some were suggesting it might be limited range color conversion (pc <-> tv) but nope.
Somebody just messed with the contrast. It probably wasn't a malicious intent and they just think it looks better... lol
a lot of people like horribly calibrated oleds on their phones, not shocking exactly.

I've actually heard something interesting about their stream encodes. Apparently part of the color/contrast settings gets adjusted manually by their web player when it plays, making it look more "normal", and the actual video stream is messed up. If it's deliberate, I wonder if it's some sort of lameass "copy protection" to make it look worse if people rip the stream. Lol. It's pretty hard for me to tell either way because I watch a lot of stuff on a laptop which has terrible contrast on the screen anyway, so everything is kinda bad on it.
once you lose detail by messing up the encode, you can't revive it by a post process filter, at least not perfectly. Maybe on web it doesn't look as bad but will still look bad. Not too hard to compare, hmm.
anyway I don't think funi is that 'smart' it's a poor copy protection too, not many care, streamers get a worse picture.
Ah yes indeed, we have at last reached one of the major points of deviation involving Rei Hino.
As expected Sailor Moon Crystal adheres to the manga faithfully by making her a walking oxymoron, she is supposed to be the guardian of fiery passion but her personality is cold and distant and she gets along with Usagi like they are sisters, or as if Usagi would have her way, lovers. I will be honest, I do think the first anime series has the superior version of Rei, they not only got her character more in line with her background temperament but also casting her as the Verionca to Usagi's Betty made for a unique team dynamic that stood out in the early going. Here it is much more flat and dull, but that isn't really the fault of Crystal. On the other hand, I do like that Usagi has been toned down to the point of tolerable while still keep her massive flaws intact. This Usagi I actually buy as heroine who genuinely wants to help people but also has character flaws that hold her back at times. Anyway, this was a rather good episode aside from the usual production issues and the fight with Jadite was miles better then anything seen in the previous series.
I've been enjoying it a lot. If you're already a fan of Kindaichi then you'll love it. If it's your first time checking out anything Kindaichi than I would say it's fine to watch it but I don't think it really introduces some of the characters as well as it could have.
Watching episode 7 right now. Gotta say when Hiro had her doubts about her future that felt like a surprisingly harsh episode. Reality's a bitch after all.

Have to say though, I'm not sure what to think about those bath/shower self-reflection scenes in HIdamari Sketch. I mean these girls aren't all that young, they go to highschool after all, however, the art style makes everyone look somewhat young and childish. So to have these scenes where the camera does occasionally focus on their boobs and other areas is a bit questionable. I mean yeh, they don't draw nipples but that's hardly an excuse.
It's not like those scenes are directed in a very sexually alluring way or anything but it's there to some degree.
Embarrassed as I am I have been enjoying the developing Sakurai/Takayama relationship. Interesting that thats the focus, but I guess Sakurai is perfect for dragging the show into action sequences.
Not sure if this is a better end for Jadeite than his silly plane plan. Rina Satou got a lot more speaking time as Rei compared to Ami, and she's doing a good job. Sounds like her big sister type characters. If I remember the toku version, the original Rei is not as snarky as the 90s one. It's clear that things aren't going to be deviating at all, and I've heard the manga has a few faults of its own, so I'm not sure what to think about this going forward.
Magimoji Rurumo 04
Human form Chiro delivers! The "softer than the sky" moment was also pretty great. The two stories dovetailed into each other nicely. If those glasses of misfortune really do show someone their fears, than I wonder why Rurumo's afraid of frogs.

Seems especially unnecessary for this kind of show. I get it for stuff like Nisekoi and in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei it's even quite weird and funny in its implementation. But in HIdamari Sketch I'm just shaking my head each time because it feels so off.
Kasuga and Saeki have a talk where they both think it's about something else. And then Kasuga finally lets some of those pent-up feelings out in a bit of destructive manner.
I wonder if what they are doing to tokyo esp is better or worse then what they are doing to tokyo ghoul lol.
I wasn't impressed with the first episode of tokyo esp (It had plenty going on, but for some reason didn't remotely grasp my attention.) so I dropped it given I had to many shows to watch right now (it seemed like a likely candidate for a future dub) but I have kept up with tokyo ghoul and due to issues I have had with the anime I started to read what they covered in the manga... they have changed some really random things. the last episode also was weird as (how much manga they covered spoiler)
they adapted 5 chapters in a single episode @_@
example of a random thing they changed in the last episode.
Anime:
Girl says her father, mother, and brother that is two years younger died.
manga:
girl says her father, mother, and three younger brothers died in a plane crash.
Lack of weight behind any impact continues to be pervasive in the animation. Right now, this is surviving on the strength of its source material, and Xebec can't even get that right by trimming some fun stuff like Azuma screwing around more with his power.
I swear, if they cut the
prison
I will be super pissed. This was supposed to be much better than Ga Rei Zero
