Sunset Overdrive - Chaos Squad Mode Stream

that game seems pretty fun. Its like my first time actually watching the game outside of a trailer. I'd buy it but I'm assuming this game has a heavy focus online play and I'm not interested in paying for another subscription(one thats $10 more than the one I already pay for now too). I wonder if my friend is still interested in this game... If he does get it I'll go over there one weekend and just play it extensively :3

It's actually the opposite. The Chaos mode is just the multiplayer part that you can bring your single player character in to. First and foremost, this is a single player game.

Game looks like a lot of fun, especially if you have tons of friends to play with. Looking forward to the reviews on the story/singleplayer.

I certainly like the look of this Chaos Squad.
I hope it has a healthy amount of players for a few months anyway.

Hopefully there's a decent variety in missions and mission locations for this. This bombing the blimp one looks cool but I've already seen the scab bunker one twice. And have they said how many night defense locations there are? I know about the brewery and the boat but are there more?

So the Chaos Squad is the MP of the game? Whats the player limit? After watching the stream it seems fun but looks like it might get repetative at times.

Will Chaos Squad have matchmaking? I'm the only one of my friends snagging this at launch.
Pretty sure yes. From what I've seen/heard you go into a photo booth to start matchmaking and you can continue playing the single player while it's looking for a game for you.

Glorious. I look forward to seeing all sorts of customized characters I get grouped up with.

That can be a problem though. When the game design is so rigid it forces you into playing it a certain way. It's a very fine line.

In this case it seems like Insomniac looks at standing in one place on the ground the same way we see falling into a hole in a Mario. Avoiding doing it is an element of the game.

It's Single Player focused. The online is supplementary.

Seems as though there's something missing from this game. I can't put my finger on it, but the game seems as if it doesn't have a direction. Just constant killing of respawning enemies. Also, it it me, or does it seem like the enemies don't fight back? I can see the game feeling repetitive after a couple of days...

Yeah it's missing me playing the hell out of it!

dunno if the shacknews stream was coming from the game I was just in... but first time through in downtown we had 700% chaos and only by the save of the clock did we make it through with like 2 health in the overcharge vats.

the next round we hit 1400% chaos and we got absolutely WRECKED.

Looks good. I'm really excited for this game.
I wonder if there's a move that lets you dance on the rail in place while shooting stuff. Dancing taunts, and keeps your combo the same... I don't know. It seems like people change the grind direction back and forward to make up for not being able to stand still. Taunt would make things more aggressive and lock on to you, and you add dancing to add the charm that JSR had.

Heck this could be in the game and it's just not shown off.
Awesome idea. There seem to be a few enemies that can hit you off rails so I would argue that finding a moment to sit still and pull off a taunt should increase your combo meter like DMC then just keep it the same. I'd hate to see people sitting atop a building and picking off enemies though.

Does the amount of chaos (and the difficulty) scale with the number of players? Shacknews only had 3 players for most of the stream and they never got close to 700% chaos.

Any chance you could put up a twitch stream?

until wingers start lighting the power lines on fire and gunkers throw ice on them and blowers shoot puss at them and OD jump onto and swing on them... etc

This might be one of those times where you make that footage available because Shacknews are making this game look terrible and completely unappealing with their ineptness.

I found another stream with 8 people. Seems much more chaotic.

Someone with some actual skill is finally streaming. At bloody last!

Traversal looking damn good. DAMN GOOD. Also liking how hectic it looked. Dem wall clinging robots.

And the racing to events is in. Thank you, based Insomniac.

I did notice some wall running issues with it not initiating and the player left walking against the wall in mid air.

Haha, the objective they're doing now is called "The floor is lava" and the streets are literally filled with lava you have to avoid while searching for Fizzie balloons.

Letting these people do this is a bad idea. They are making this game that is supposed to be about wild movement and crazy guns look so boring. They need to hit up better streamers.

That was legit. Really showed how advanced the traversal can be if you're skilled enough and gain enough of a uninterrupted flow.

Yeah that second stream is so much better. The guy was moving around the map like it was second nature for him.

oooh thats interesting. I don't have an xbone though, maybe my friend will let me borrow his if i let him borrow my ps4... hmmm... I'll ask. besides this game I have no real interest in an xbone

Certainly. I could just see some people being frustrated by it if the game really punishes you the moment you're on the ground.

It's nice to finally see someone who has some skill at traversing. Really shows what the game is all about and what you can achieve when you have some experience under your belt.

And goddamn at this night defence.

HOLY SHIT!

I like this location. It has multiple vats while the brewery one seems to only have 1.

Edit: Oh god those flying things...
