Switch (2) textures seem to be missing the subtle checkerboard aesthetic present in the original games. It's a neat effect that makes things look a bit more cohesive and textures less like generic clay
Maybe nitpicky but with such important games (and such a high price tag) it's a bit of a bummer and maybe a red flag for worse. Textures may be sharper but that's not worth losing unique visual nuance like that, and the importance of sharp textures is exaggerated anyway, especially in older or stylized games where they can clash with simple geometry
