Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

any hss 0130 experts around?
i´m confused.
finally took mine apart to replace the buttons. but a look under the panel revealed that it not only has sanwa jlf sticks instead of the "normal" seimitsu ones .. all buttons are sanwa (OBSF-30RG) too instead of fake sega ones.

what is this monster .. was it shipped in different versions?

AFAIK it only came with Seimitsu levers and clone Sega buttons soldered directly to the PCB.

I am not aware of any other configurations. Are you sure yours wasn't modded?

I think I might be a resident expert on that thing.

Your version is definitely modded! Good find. Stock, they have Seimitsu levers and shitty on-a-board buttons. Put up a few pictures if you can!

In this image, you can see what the stock boards look like:

Looks like a mod in progress.

just checked the box (it came "new / mint", "boxed"). it shows a 8 button layout - mine got 6.
guess someone replaced it with a full sanwa 2L12B panel.
now thats a nicest ebay scam i ever had :)

Ohhh, yep! Also, the panel says "Licensed by Sega" if it's an 2L12B. The HSS-0130 panel says "SEGA" on the front in the same place.

Great find, by the way... that panel is $150+. It also doesn't rust like the original 0130 did.

ya it says "Licensed by Sega" and idd no visible rust on the inside :)

Awesome. You've got yourself an arcade-accurate panel! Good work. Is it wired to just the Saturn stuff? You should make it multi-console. I did, and here's a guide to doing that:

ya it is saturn. i´ll mod it to ps4 when xrd arrives - for now i got a saturn-pc converter.

I can't seem to give up on the LS-32. It just feels right to me. I feel like I'm becoming the minority. I have one in both my TE2 and my Atrox.

That is all I use. Never even tried any of the other Seimitsu stuff. Got plenty of other brand stucks but LS-32 is always my fave.

I was a heavy proponent of the ls32 over the much loved jlf for a good while. then I got an ls40 with the intent of making an "ls36" out of both. I never got around to doing that because I love the 40 so much as it is.

TThat being said, the Hayabusa is the best lever I've ever had the pleasure of using. I feel like it has the best of all of the above rolled into one. I can even swap between it and the happ parts at work without adjustment.

LS-32 da god. I've had one in every HRAP I own except for the ones with the stupid non-universal brackets. I still want to mod one for my HRAP3, but that's some hardcore machining.

This, so much. And they are super mod friendly!

Hayabusa is fantastic. I switched out my much loved LS-32 stick with the Hayabusa, and plan on swapping out the 2 JLFs in my Blast City as well.

You guys should really try em out if you like the LS-32.

Hmmm... Can you by them separately? Edit: Found.

Is the throw and engagement similar to a jlf or ls32? Anyone try using a kowal in one of these?

OK, so now I'm torn between trying out an ls40 and hayabusa. Hmm, tempted to stick with seimitsu on this...
To be honest, the Hayabusa feels a little smoother, which is the only thing about seimitsu sticks I ever thought needed change.

That being said, if you want to stick to seimitsu get a 40.

How do people usually mount PCB's? Every picture I see is from the top down, so you can't see how they actually get in there. Someone has actually said Command strips are fine as long as the solder joints are covered, but I need to be sure before sticking adhesives on an electronic part.

Super noob here when it comes to arcade sticks. I noticed a lot of sticks here seem to cater to fighting games. Are they good buys too for just general arcade gaming, or should I just stick to something like an x-arcade? Also, are there any other similar 2 player out-of-the-box products like the x-arcade?

I don't think X-Arcade uses good parts. If you want american controls like that, I recommend the HAPP or IL brand (I believe IL now owns the HAPP design). If you are picky enough to want the IL parts, you could always buy an X-arcade and replace the parts. Might not be worth the cost to you though.

There aren't any cost-effective 2-player solutions that I know of, but you could always just buy 2 arcade sticks. It would sure as hell be cheaper than purchasing an HSS-0130 or two madcatz VS sticks and linking them.

As far as the sticks being sold now catering to fighting games, you really could use them for a lot of arcade-style games that don't require complicated or analog controls. If you are a hardcore shoot-em-up player, you may want a joystick other than the JLF, but that is preference.

due to lazy and usf4, i've been using sanwa JLF on my hss-0130 for shmups. I 1CC'd ESPGaluda easily and did my best 1-ALL for DOJ with it. using a stock JLF. fight me.

kidding aside, I usually suggest it for mainly FG players or those who don't do well with JLF whenever i help people mod sticks (a case of "since we're opening this, might as well swap a few parts ya?")..

then I take their JLF's and collect them. I have 8-10 stock JLF's just hanging around in my room.

I've been having fun too with FLASH1 ?ascii optical setups. anyone here prefer opticals?

Hey guys, I'm looking to cut down on the number of sticks I have from too many to just a few. Please note that these prices are in USD and shipping is extra. I'm open to all offers on my items so please PM me.

Large version of the Hitbox Arcade dual system stick. Works both on Xbox 360 and PS3. Pretty easy to mod for the new systems.

I used it for a few months when UMvC3 came out and realized that I was just better with the regular stick in the end. I paid 260 for it when it was first released so I'm looking for around 160 USD, I've already sold the smaller Hitbox shown in the pic so please ignore that.

I also recorded a video showing all the buttons work and dual system capability here.

Next up is the Round 2 Xbox 360 version of the Madcatz Street Fighter 4 Tournament Edition stick. You get everything you see here and its in perfect condition. That includes the box, certificate, etc. Asking $130

Also selling the box set of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom with the Madcatz stick and game of course. Asking $75.

Still for sales guys,

I'm asking 160 for the Hitbox
130 for the MadCatz Round 2 stick
and 75 for the Tatsunoko stick and game thanks!

Thanks for the response. I'll probably look into just getting 2 arcade sticks. I do remember seeing another dual stick product similar to the x-arcade, but it looked like it had a metal build or something more sturdy, worked with consoles and was much more expensive (think it was like $300 iirc). I just can't remember the name

Focusattack is having a 6 hour sale on Saturday, 15% off everything. sounds like a good time to order parts for my panel.

I preordered the new Ultra Street Fighter 4 TE2 PS3/PS4 stick with Swana parts. seemed like a good place to start with Fightsticks.

I'd love a custom high end metal or wood enclosure or to try out this Hayabusa stick everyone is talking about. But I think I'll stick with Swana buttons for now.

does anyone know explicitly how focusattack.com's point system works? saturday I need to buy 2 jlfs 2 balltops and 10 buttons - can I split my order up to save money via the point system?
