It's a fine stick. The buttons/stick are a bit different but they are solid, especially at that price. How is the HRAP4? I've only used the Madcatz sticks and I like them, but I need something that will work for PS4 and this sounds like a great deal.
If he's never played SF or used a stick before why would you need to swap the buttons?Should I pick up the Hori stick for my little bro & mod the buttons? I've been needing to get him into Street Fighter for a while.
He used my Eightarc Onyx before for casual sessions of UMvC3 & P4A(U).If he's never played SF or used a stick before why would you need to swap the buttons?
So get him the stick, but let him mess around with the default parts first. If he wants Sanwa parts, get them for him. Am I interpreting that correctly?for people mostly unfamiliar with sticks i figure just let them use the default stuff and see what they think of it. no point in forcing someone to use certain stuff because they are the "right" parts.
unless they are madcatz parts, those are trash
There actually is a Fry's in my area, so I could check there. Plus there's a game store that sells Hori sticks nearby.i think its the safe bet, he could end up being addicted to hori parts! unlikely but possible lol.
however the ps4 hrap is sold out online already so unless you have a fry's nearby you may be out of luck.
So these are the two sticks I've been working on. These were Dreamcast Agetec sticks I bought on ebay ages ago and that I decided to mod.
It's a full mod as in there's only the case that remains original, and still with plenty of changes, inside and outside. The start button hole was filled and the boxes obviously repainted. Two more holes were created on the back to house two 24mm buttons. The VMU window was cut off and the top of the stick replaced with custom artwork and plexi. Both the stick and buttons are sanwa, the PCB is a PC compatible cthulu board.
I guess. Worst-case scenario, the TE2 can be my tournament stick while the Hori can serve as my training stick (once I swap the buttons, of course....if my little bro hates the stick).nice, yeah might as well jump on the $99 deal. even if he hates the stick you can keep it or sell it for what you paid for it, if not more heh
did you get those plexis from art's hobbies? I had actually considered doing this but i really like the feel of the metal plate originally on the agetec vs plexi. here's mine
sixaxis guts, easily changed to something else
So.
I'm looking at sticks.
I've been leaning Hori RAP4 for ps4 because I've always been a Hori fan and it's cheaper than TE's.
But I also want to customize my stick and most customized sticks I see are TE's.
I want my stick to be the cutest stick in the room.

Customization is important. What do I do?
You want to paint the stick shell as well as change the art?
New HRAPs are just as customizable as TEs
To paint a plastic shell just use vinyl dye
Yes. How do I do that? Is that too hard?

What's the plexiglass and what's it for? This will be my first stick.
I'm thinking of painting the shell pink and have the background of the art white for contrast. In terms of actual art...I'd like to draw cute chibi characters of my favorite fighting game characters.
I want a white ball on the stick and I want a pink swirl around the circumference of the ball, like the dreamcast logo. Is replacing the ball easy? Can you have people customize the ball or do you paint it yourself like you would the shell?
Eventually, I'd like to put in white buttons.
Yeah that sounds like a rad stick.
It's a thin shit of plexiglass that covers the art. I think the website tek-innovations still sells most of what you need as far as the art goes. For buttons and the stick try Arcade Shock or Focus Attack.
Can you remove the pexiglass and clean it?

So this stick, which I cherish, has been super stiff/not smooth for a while. I decided to be brave and take it apart today after looking up "sanwa lubrication" (even if this is not one) and used Chapstick of all things to grease up the pivot. Feels good as new!!! I was hitting DM's I was missing in Last Blade 2 like nothing. This pretty much made my night. I thought it was on its last legs.
I use Permatex Ultra Caliper Lube on my sticks and RC car plastic gears. Totally safe and effective.

Those are so hot. I want that MVS stick, gaddayaum!
Pre ordered a TES+. Enjoy my money markman.
Will be my first stick too, hopefully I get it before sf drops.
Thanks for your support. I think you'll be pleased with the finished product!![]()
Man, Jasen's first gen panzer stick looked sooooo good. I regret not buying a case and storing it for PS4 when I had the chance.
The second gen case is too expensive and I don't see why there was a HUGE bump in price.
I think it's due to the bigger size and how it's setup, but yea the price increase is just does not seem feasible
