Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Anyone have any info on the Brooks PS2 to PS4/PC converter? Does it have its own drivers?

I just need it to use old controllers on PC, and the other cheaper converters don't work. The controller will have all sorts of weird inputs and there is no driver for it.

If it works like the 360 converter then yes, it has its own drivers and will be seen as a PS4 controller.

Also I found a real good stick deal that might have already been sold, but I sent an email anyway. Pray for me, boys

The Pro N is just the Tekken 7 stick without the Tekken 7 branding

Same thing, real nice looking stick. The old Fighting Edge had a cool LED panel on the side for setting options, doesn't look like the new one does though.

Personally it's just too big for me to want to lug around.

I lent my fighting edge toa friend...he thinks he gave it back to me...

I even PS4 modded it which included getting that touch panel working.

Lugging it to tournaments definitely wouldve been a pain, but it would be my goto home use one if I had it back.

Well, there's some images in the last few pages, but the HRAP 4 Kai and Hori Tekken 7 stick are great. Availability will depend on where you live, so maybe Qanba/Razer are valid options for you too.

Basically, any stick on shelves right now is worth getting.

I bought the HRAP 4, and I like it, but the buttons are so sensitive, I keep accidentally pressing them. Is this normal, and just something one gets used to?

Tekken 7 stick is plexiglass.

Hm, that makes the HRAP N tempting then. I've been looking for something with a better form factor than my HRAP V, but I'd rather they came with Sanwa parts stock (or at least non matte buttons). The screenshot of the FE looks like it has glossy buttons though, so I'll likely wait for more info on that one before I bite.

Yeah I swapped out the buttons in the T7 stick for Sanwa Denshi Silent ones. The Hayabusa were to plasticy and loud for me.

Also not sure if the N has plexiglass. They may have cut cost buy just going with the sticker.

Judging from the Rap 4 Kai, it's likely a sticker. I don't think you can have custom art on those. Go with the T7 one if that's your aim.

Looking at the pic above again (and not on my phone this time) it does look like it has screws on the top like the T7 stick. Those just hold the plexiglass on for the T7 stick so it looks like the N probably has plexi and changeable art work too.

I recently fried a brook UFB while modding a stick. I wired the voltage and ground wrong in making an aviation USB cable. I brought a new UFB, fixed the aviation usb cable and took care of that stick quickly. So I tried to fix the damaged UFB, which only suffered a fried 662K chip. Those chips were easy to buy for $1 for 20 chips. It took a minute to solder the new chip. Now it's fully functional.

Damaged 662K Chip:

I'm not sure what to do with it at this point since I have 6 of them in sticks already. Just sharing some repair information right now.

Any tips on wiring the female end of the aviation connector to a usb cable? I need to make a te2 cable and I saw they use an aviation connector

Preordered the Pro N yesterday. It'll be worth the wait if all the good things I've heard about the Tekken stick in this thread are true.

Also, Focus Attack making a plexi for the Tekken stick means you're not completely stuck with the Noir layout on the Pro N either since it's the same thing.

Annnnnd, how the hell do I chain all these wires on this. I'm in over my head and there doesn't seem to be any good resources for installing this board in this stick. Gg.

Chaining the grounds together to put into my UFB. I guess I can twist the wires together on a few of my grounds to fit into the 4 different ground spots on the board?
You could do that, but I think it makes more sense to connect them all with a wire nut, then run a single wire from the nut to the UFB. If you can find it, I've seen sticks that use this style of crimp connector - needle nose pliers will crimp them just fine:

Was about to order the Hori SCV stick on play-asia for about 63 Euros, but the shipping costs are ridiculously high, starting at 55 Euros. Damn, what a disappointment.

Just get ready to update the firmware on your board every time Sony releases a PS4 update that kills whatever the board is doing to circumvent the PS4's controller authentication. Make sure you have both Share and PS buttons hooked up as you have to hold both to start the firmware update process.

So the home button, LSB, RSB, turbo etc are connected to board at the bottom. How would I go about getting them connected? I feel like I messed up buying the board with the pre soldered connections...

You can determine which pin is what in that connector through a combination of trying to read the board silkscreens to find if it's documented that way, or just pushing buttons while sticking a multimeter into the connector. From that point, you have options. You can:

a) find the matching connector and pin it to match
b) cut the stock connector off and splice wires into it
c) literally stick wires into the connector and seal with hot glue

Any announcements from companies like Sanwa or arcade parts stores out there regarding EVO exclusive items? Looking to buy a couple of things early Friday and wanna make sure I don't end up missing anything lol
