Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

That would be amazing.....but a nightmare with Olimar, Ice Climbers or even
Wonder Red & Co.
. I can see it being a Wii U Item, not on 3DS though.

Is it me or does Sonic down-air goes a lot more straight down than it did in Brawl? This could probably avoid a lot of stupid deaths.

Btw, Mario, Sonic and Mega Man fighting each other in the same game.

THINK ABOUT HOW CRAZY THAT SHIT IS!

Also, is that gif speed up? Because that looks a lot faster than Brawl.

It seem little slower in trailer, I guess.

Imagine Snake or Pac Man along with those characters.

Wonderful ones should be an assist trophy if Wonder Red isn't a playable character, starts off with Wonder Red giving a Wonder Punch towards an opponent, followed by Wonder Blue's sword swipe, Wonder Green's gun, etc

It does look like that.

It is Sonic gameplay, so it may seem really fast I guess. It is also 0.003333~seconds faster than the video since Photoshop doesn't allow you to use a value other than 0 in the thousandths decimal place (and beyond).

I never saw Melee's E3 reveal. It definitely didn't get near as hype a response as Brawl's though. I can't really judge whether the trailer itself was better since it's just the Melee intro that I'm so familiar with. Brawl's reveal would always be it's own thing to me. Though Melee's intro is of course far better than Brawl's terrible, "second, 'clips from the show' TV-show intro" mess, Brawl's reveal definitely won with the surprise reveal at the end

SSB4's Mega Man reveal was pretty boss

and quit posting those gifs guys... they make me hype and I don't want to actually buy this game/but a Wii U/get emotionally invested/get hurt

if you want something, you have t spend money to get it.

Here's the other Sonic GIF:

I think this small bit really highlights the visual effects they added to SSB4.

What are the odds of a trailer for an Eternal Darkness sequel in the next Nintendo Direct plus a reveal trailer for Alexandra Roivas in Smash?

What I noticed with a lot of Wii U games is that the lighting is very dynamic in a lot of the games as if they all used the same engine for it.

We see it with Wind Waker HD, 3D World, Mario Kart 8, SSB4, Nintendo Land, The Wonderful 101 and more.

The only game that doesn't so far is Monolith Soft's X, and I think Bayonetta 2.

It's not a bad thing actually, I really like the lighting in those games and it makes things much more colorful and dynamic.

why the hell did Nintendo not do an actual E3 conference
still makes no sense

Nothing they've really done this generation makes any sense.

Lucas is my third favorite Smash character ever as per Brawl and the love is amplified even further thanks to Project M (you know, I gush about P:M a lot but it really did show the upper bound on almost every character's potential). The only two characters I love more are Pit because Uprising made me a KI fanboy and Marth because Marth's been the best for the past 13 years.

I respect that P:M balanced every character, but the new PK Freeze and Offense Up are just too weird for me.

Brawl's trailer was the best, IMO. Nothing beats the main theme and Snake's surprise reveal.

On Eternal Darkness representation, I think the chances of that are even slimmer than Spirit Camera getting representation in the 3DS Smash Bros, and trust me, those odds aren't high.

gosh, this is what this thread needs really bad - more in game footage! I can't remember who it was but early someone mentioned that the pic of the day just isn't enough anymore and we tear through all the possible convo topics way too fast now. I seriously am hoping that at the next Nintendo direct includes some kind of actual gameplay footage. Also, I love all the Gifs that get posted when there is new gameplay footage.

Well if the pattern continues for reveals, Diddy should be confirmed this Thursday when Tropical Freeze comes out in Japan.

I certainly hope so. Diddy was one of my favorite newcomers from Brawl.

I'm holding out hope that there's a DK newcomer that gets shown off in the next direct though.

Diddy would have to be revealed before a potential DK newcomer (Dixie) since he would almost certainly factor into the CG portion of the trailer.

I'm really tempted to actually try out Project M.

All I need to get is one of those SD Cards and an SD Adapter for my laptop, right?

Yep! Be sure it's 2GB or under. Brawl will only read cards with a 2GB max. Extract PM to the card, remove any custom stages you may have, boot up stage builder and you're good to go.

It could be a two-for-one deal. Trailer and 2 dojo pages.

Well, Nintendo Directs fall on Thursday, right?

Thursday morning, Diddy's uploaded, and Sakurai includes a hint in one of the pictures, like maybe Diddy's high-fiving someone off-screen...

Then comes the Direct, and Dixie's revealed!

You can still use a larger SD card if you've got the Homebrew Channel, but yeah, if you don't want to mod your system, 2GB is the limit.

I thought most of Directs fell on Wednesdays. I remember IntelliHeath posted a tally for them.

That would be a really cool way to introduce a tag-team mechanic. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Diddy/Dixie pairing is all the more likely given that tripping is getting removed.

These two gifs aren't too similar, but it looks like the Wii U version will have sharper visual effects for when characters are hit.

Edit: And by sharper I mean more prominent, not higher resolution.
