I don't think Miyamoto has anything to do with development other than greenlighting it.

I agree. And with Mario Kart being their popular flagship racer it is not looking too good for f-zero. One of the better solutions I've read here is to give its gamecube iteration a HD remake for the WiiU similar to how WW was handled. Add online, etc but again this is Nintendo we're talking about.

Dixie is dead center on the Tropical Freeze box (and playable) and Kiddy isn't even there. I'd be pretty surprised to see Dixie/Kiddy tagteam, really would seem more likely to be just Dixie or just Cranky. Unless Kiddy is a hidden character in Tropical Freeze it would just seem weird.

I think they should gauge interest first by making an F-Zero Arcade racer just to see if there's enough demand in JAPAN.
The fanbase in the west is small enough as it is and if Nintendo does make an arcade racer, it might up the chances later down the line.
I wouldn't mind a downloadable only title to gauge interest either.
I can only imagine what F Zero would look like in HD, 60 fps.

Yup. There's other potential female characters that might make the roster in form of alt costumes (such as Lucina for Marth, or Daisy for Peach, or Leaf for Pokemon Trainer), but I'm not sure we're going to get any beyond Male WFT and Female Villager.
I see no reason why Female AC Village couldn't at least be a costume option, but I figure they would have shown that by now.
Are Paluenta and Lucina that likely? I didn't play Kid Icarus, but I guess if Sakurai worked on it I can see him wanting another rep from it. Lucina is Fire Emblem? Yeah I could see a new character being added, but I haven't gotten very far so I have no clue who are the likely suspects.

That's not an F-Zero game, it's a Captain Falcon game.

Really, there's nothing wrong with having more females in the cast and at this point it's preferred and it's a good thing.
We need more fleshed out female characters that add something new to the table.

those are alt colors, not alt costumes becoming an another character. peach is still peach but with diasy's color scheme, dark link and dark pit (who didnt exist back then) are literally just shadow versions of the characters.

Most of those are merely homages rather than full-blown alts. Also, Dark Pit didn't exist when Brawl came out.

We've only seen one screen of the Male WFT so we really have no idea how much alternate costumes are going to play a role in this game. Would love to see the female Villager and Pokemon Trainer as alts.
Paluenta is basically the No. 2 character in terms of screen time in Uprising, so if that game is getting more reps (and we don't know for sure) I can't imagine it not being her.
