Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

Also, just had a thought.

When Captain Falcon is revealed, I think a pic of the day with him and Mac hitting each other with Falcon Punch/Uppercut respectively is a possibility.

I just hope everyone is this thread realises it is a reference to Punch-Out arcade.

Just in case they don't;

Are these the same moves?

My theory is that the first image is ground side-B, and the second is aerial side-B, but with the second gif it's now harder for me to believe he jumps immediately before triggering the side-B.

In that case, what is the first gif's attack? It's too quick to have been a counter (it didn't make the noise for the counter in the trailer either), his neutral-B attacks appear to be straight punches until the OHKO, and it looks like side-B always make him hop.

first move is his neutral b uppercut uncharged, the second is what I presume is his side b, a projectile invul hook

I knew I noticed something. I made a quick Screen Capture of this from that gif.

Bowser's percent jumped up to 231%. Think that during the speed up gameplay Little Mac racked up that damage, or do you think the Charged Special did that much damage?

Little Mac's dash is incredible. It's low and extremely fast.

I just wonder if it's low enough to go under the space animals' lasers. I kinda doubt it, though.

Idk bout lasers, but am I the only one who noticed the smoke effects added to Mario's fireballs? Talk about upping the stylish flair in this game! :O

One thing I love that I'm surprised nobody has said yet (or missed it being said before) I REALLY love how they put megaman's blue pixels flying from his body when he dies in the game.

I wish more characters had something like this but it wouldn't make any sense!

With what you're suggesting though that would mean his side b was literally a copy of Captain Falcons

Captain Falcon cut from Smash 4 spread rumor

Well regardless of input method, that move is still similar lol. Granted, it probably doesn't auto-trigger when it finds an opponent, and it's invulnerable on startup. Anyhow I don't think that's side-B.

Well my challenge to this is to check out early on in the trailer when he absorbs an attack from Bowser and gives him a straight punch. I presumed that this was a low-power neutral-B. A good possibility, however, is that you can choose to do a straight punch or an uppercut out of neutral B somehow.

Good catch. Surely he just pounded everyone to that high of a damage. Assuming they did nothing other than speedup gameplay, we don't see the screen shake from KOs, and they remain at the right side of the stage with minimal shadows cast on the left. They probably remained alive while taking a beating, and then they zoom out to show him deliver the final blow.

It was shown in his reveal trailer. But yeah, character specific deaths could be fun, like Mario jump with his arms and legs stretched out before tumbling off the bottom of the screen.

So hyped for this game, needs to cone out ASAP. Wii U is just getting too many good games, and since they're adding an account system its gonna be a instant buy soon for me :DDD

I wonder if people realize doc says that mac isnt a out fighter, not an air fighter, tho he was referring to the same context.

Thanks, i only noticed because I kept seeing a dark red for a small moment when i watched it loop and tried to catch it by clicking and dragging the picture. lol

I'm so friggin excited for little mac, it's almost unreal. I'm a little disappointed in his final smash though. Any confirmation on what it does? To me it looks like it will be one of those "become invincible and unkillable" kind of final smashes, but I hope I'm wrong

Easily the cleanest shots I've seen yet for this game, it's amazing what taking away the compression can do. Makes me wish Sakurai would post all shots like this.

Did anyone notice that Mac is taking damage while charging???

So he can't be knocked out of the charge even when being attacked??

His charge looks to have super armor, remains to be seen if he can eventually be hit out of it or if you can grab him.

edit: And yeah, pics of 3DS battlefield have been around forever.

I doubt that the K.O. Gauge is a straight "charge attack" like other Neutral Bs. Firstly, it wouldn't need a special bar for that, and secondly it wouldn't be true to the source material. I think the bar grows as you dish out more damage and dodge more hits, same way you earn hearts/stars in Punch-Out!!

Random request. I remember seeing a video a few years back where Luigi uses his taunt to spike kill a Marth using his Air+B to recover in Brawl. Anyone know which one I'm talking about? And if so, anyone have a link?

So it's safe to assume he builds up meter the more he puts pressure on his opponents.

Now he's starting to sound like a version of Sonic that doesn't suck/lacks a means of killing.

the whole thing is a bit unclear right now

I see.

Wow, this was the best damn surprise I swear. I kind of forgot the Direct was today, Never really mattered to me. Awesome news to come back and find later in the evening.

I prayed for Mac to be in Melee and Brawl. Having the Assist Trophy in Brawl was a slap in the face. Especially since he looked like a new character when he was unveiled...

But now we finally got him and he's just as dope as I imagined he'd be!

Im so excited for Smash. Im buying a Wii U just for this game. I'll be playing on 3DS as well. I just can't wait man. My hype has returned.

Not to mention the Streetpass games plus maybe even Nintendoland (somehow).

All the Streetpass games are ripe for moves too. Might have a glider or jetpack from Pilotwings for recovery.

Just with Wii Party alone they'll be able to come up with enough moves

Oh, I forgot about the Streetpass games, but maybe they're too late additions to be included? The Pilotwings recovery seems a good idea, though. Anyway, Miis have plenty of possibilities for moves.
