Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

At least he looks like he'll be good at it, all that super armor man.

I don't doubt it! Just not my style of play. I used Marth/Meta Knight in Brawl and Sheik/Fox/Falco/Marth in Melee. Lots of time spent in the air/off the stage with those characters. Little Mac looks pretty awful at both of those things lol.

I like that a lot of his moves have super armor, though. At least he shouldn't have to worry about getting lamed out by a Falco or Snake.

I wonder if Ganondorf will get the same kind of love... he needs it.

Technically eShop bag is older than Dillon.

I just want more critters in Smash :(
Well of course, he is the one who summoned Dillon with his mystical baubles on a drying line.

Dear god, man. Why?
Not to start anything but wouldn't instant KOs be preferable for the tournament scene as people will always get KO'd in the same time interval. With star KOs two people can get knocked off the stage at the same time but if one person is hit to the side they are instantly KOd whereas the if the other is knocked upwards they'll slowly fades away in the background and thus wins since they are still in play. Same applies to hitting the screen.

I really wish air game is improved (and not in a Metaknight sort of way) in Smash 4. Bring it back like in 64 and Melee where air game is viable.

One thing's been bothering me. In the trailer, when Little Mac does that super charged attack that KOs the three characters he was fighting, they all fly upwards and you see the the kill flashes? What the hell's up with that? Those are only supposed to appear if you knock a character to the side, or if they fall.

They always does that in preview trailers but they will change that when the game went gold. Look at Brawl trailers, you will see that they turned off star ko to make it look flashy or so. I'm pretty sure they are doing same thing for SSB4 trailers as well.

That's actually a good point. Of course, this could easily be solved by providing the option to turn on/off star KOs.

I'll take one Little Mac with a large fry please.

Extra Ketchuppercut.

What makes you say that?

It would be nice is smash 4 had multiple alternate costumes for each fighter

Mac's besides his pink sweats, could actually have regular ass clothes, which makes me hype in concept.

The revelation/discovery regarding Star KOs just made me sad face. They're a tradition and are funny as hell, especially when combined with the "I just got hit hard as fuck" yells some characters have in Melee/Project M. (I dare you not to laugh when Fox gets bodied in the latter.)

Look like some people mightn't noticed my post. Star KO will be in Smash 4 since it is Smash's traditional features.

Please take a look at this trailer, and you will noticed that there are no Star KO in this trailer because they had it turned off for trailers sake.

Also We have Screen K.O., so I'm pretty sure that it meant that Star KO is still in the game.

I don't think that is the falling after getting hit...

IT really looks when the characters are KO'ed and smash against the TV screen.

I don't think that's Mac's screen KO. I think it's his "falling after being hit" pose.

That's what I had been assuming. I don't think Star/Screen KOs have been removed, but I figured this was his "flying through the air" pose. It certainly looks more like he's smacking the screen, but we haven't seen Screen KOs yet, so I didn't expect Sakurai to "reveal" them like this.

It looks like that particular image is zoomed in quite a bit, he doesn't look like he's been forced up against the TV screen.

but i'd like him to be if youknowwhatimean

Oh man, I just realized this Punch-Out bumper sticker & shirt that I won years ago (& by won, I mean I was the only one for that showed up for the GameStop contest, which they gave me the poster for as well) is perfect to wear now considering Little Mac was recently confirmed. Need to break that out once SSB's out & I try him out.

That's totally a 'smacked the front of the screen' pose, if I've ever seen one.
Agreed, it's either that or the falling animation after taking enough damage (which I kind of doubt).

I don't know why but I laughed a lot with this....

Then that level up on expressions on the characters is really confusing me lol.

Also dat little mac love since his reveal LOL

I'd like to point out that Star KO's don't paticularly make sense happening on a stage where the background is pretty close up. This stage may be an exception and all ceiling KO's are just those splash effects instead.

No offense to the tournament players, but I hope star KOs and screen KOs are kept. If anything one should have the choice to disable them if they wanted, the same could be done with tripping, just like it's now with items: so that everyone is happy. I love my randomness in Smash.

Total dream roster, with like 5-10 characters too many:

So Friday could mark the next return of a Veteran?
If that happens then the 2 characters peer month would be valid right?

Maybe, but if you go by that we'd have close to 40 characters before release. (assuming a winter release date.) Unless they went bug-crazy with the roster or went with no unlockables that seems very bizarre.

Don't forget we still have an E3 ahead. Who knows how many characters will be revealed there...

Still they can't continue like this? right?

Unless they do post them but as spoilers on miiverse? I don't know lol...

What I miss about the Dojo is when they would update with songs, man those were hype.

Even I we don't get many characters at least I hope they make the trailer LONG!

So Little Mac's K.O. ability is really just a glorified, conditional Luigi up special sweet spot.

I doubt that. Since there is so much involved in it. It's gonna be an instant K.O., and we know it can take out more than one character at a time. IIRC Luigi's attack only hits once. And it doesn't instant K.O., it just has high knockback.

$10 on "instant KO" meaning "kills a lightweight at 0% if they don't DI at all"

The instant ko probably also depends on the stage, though I imagine a good mac player is only going to use the instant ko as part of a combo or in a space where they can't survive

Ok ... my pc died in the middle of the Direct.

Just got it back.

Saw the Little Mac trailer and screenshots ..

Did I missed any important "leak", rumor or anything ? =D
