So, does it heal immediately, or does it wait till you hit 100%? I'd like the latter, that would be an interesting mechanic and make sense given how fairies worked in Zelda.
I can't see Snake returning. Representation on other consoles exceeding Nintendo ones (including zero ports of Ground Zeroes or Phantom Pain) and a controversial change of voice actors? It sounds like a recipe for the most surefire cut character.

Why do people see Snake not returning? Metal Gear has history on Nintendo on the NES. You can't rewrite history.(Not in this case anyway)
Yeah, you can't rewrite history, a character's debut console should always be her home platform. Hence the bevy of Crash Bandicoot games on Sony machines.

I'm curious about one thing. Do Sakurai and teams would persisting to acquire the rights to use third-party characters to be in the games during development plans or brainstorming phase so they can get the moveset ready in advance. Am I right to assume that?

I got the impression that he wasn't going to go into development and say - "These characters are out, and these characters are in." He surely has to prioritize certain characters over others but he can in no way guarantee there will be no cuts. It just depends on the time he has to finish it. Unless part of the contract is to make the game with all the characters returning, I'm pretty sure he can't guarantee no cuts. That's why he apologized in advanced.
I'm guessing you pick it up and then open the bottle (which will make you stand still for a while) and then the fairy comes out and goes around you like in Zelda games.
I wonder how the Hocotate ship will work. Do you pick it up and then set it up? Or do you have to throw it up in the air?

You know all those rumors and wishes that Reggie will be in the game? Well, what if he is...as the announcer? Dude's got a pretty strong and recognizable voice, it'd be pretty neat.

Reggie's Mii as an assist trophy. Announces "My Body is Ready" and then surfs across the screen on a Wii Fit board.
He's borderline monotone isn't he? He'd be a horrible announcer compared to what we've had. I want the melee announcer back so damn bad though.

I can see something like this happening; a Reggie Mii reveal trailer. But at the end, Sakurai discusses how the Mii just takes the appearance of any Mii you choose, so Reggie is only pseudo playable.

I'm a huge Nintendo fanboy, but honestly that Reggie in Smash was so cringe-worthy, I really hope it isn't taken seriously. 
Reggie as Announcer? No.
Reggie as playable? No.
Reggie as a Trophy? Sure.

Cucco would make for an awesome Zelda item -- you'd have to avoid hitting it, lest you trigger an apocalyptic flock of birds! But we already have two Zelda items (the Beetle and the Bottled Fairy). So who knows.
Also, these rosters with Isaac, Saki AND Shulk -- blonde effeminate girly-boy overload. Although I do advocate Marth, Ike and Chrom (& Lucina), which would be a case of the Blues Brothers, so maybe I shouldn't be talking.

I can't tell joke posts in this thread anymore. Snake being in Brawl in his attire from a PS1 game to music from a PS3 game was embarrassing enough.
Final Smash: Turns entire stage into tea table. Upends it. Everyone falls off.
And no one really cares about that now as he is more a Sony a character in terms of history and relevance.
personally i would not mind him getting cut and his move set being used or tweaked to fit another character like Ray from Disaster: Day of Crisis if he remains that's fine to .
Part of me likes to think that Reggie saying we should petition for him in Smash is a setup for a Direct where Iwata says, "Harro! Many, of you, have wanted, Weggie, in Suppa, Smash, Brudders." And while he's saying this, it shows petition signatures for Reggie in Smash. Iwata then continues: "Wrell.. Today, I am, pweased to announce, Weggie in Suppa, Smash, Brudders."
And then the Mii trailer begins: "Mii puts YOUR head in the game!" Cut to footage of Reggie's Mii scampering around, smash-attacking fools with tennis rackets and trombone slides and hang-gliding through the air, Pilotwings-style.
That was already the case when Melee and Brawl were around. Nothing changed.

Well, another major MGS game has been announced without Nintendo being on board. Snake in Brawl was arguably a remnant of Snake nearly being in Melee, on the Gamecube which at least has an MGS title. Time to cut the cord I think.
We're going off, what, an MGS3 port for 3DS?

I had this wacky dream that Buffy Summers was in Smash Bros. and Giles, Willow, and Xander would make snide comments about cartoon characters. And Angelus was a second character and his taunt would be "Gee, maybe it's broken."
Let's just include Alex Roivas and call her Buffy anyways
Sami (or other Advance War characters) make far more sense than Ray who basically only has the fact he is a bloke in a game with campy dialogue in common with Snake.
