I wanted to put this leak here from smashboards then a quick dismissal followed by my observations and thoughts for you guys to chew on, as I think it is extremely interesting.

"You guys may not believe me who am i kidding, of course you won't but I have some information about this game:
Tingle and Dr. E. Gadd are playable. That's pretty much it, nothing really too exciting I guess (except maybe that you wouldn't expect e gadd), but I wanted to post it here just because I could.
Also one last thing, it's probably not a good idea to predict if leaks are true based on Nintendo directs, as the characters they show for Smash are subject to change pretty close to the actual showing of the direct. For example, Diddy was originally supposed to be shown during the last one, but they decided last minute on Little Mac. Also Little Mac was originally going to be the first newcomer shown, not Villager, but they ultimately chose villager because of New Leaf and whatnot.

Sounds interesting and a little crazy right? Except the detail about little Mac being swapped for villager last second during the initial reveal at e3 2013.
This commentor glazed right over the pertinent details of however or he wouldn't have dismissed the leaker so quickly I.M.O
So at the "last minute" they cut out everything they had planned for Little Mac and spliced Villager into the general Smash 4 reveal trailer? This alone proves it's fake.
"DisconnectD: Ya know... There is actually evidence to back this detail of the leak up; if you recall, during the initial e3 reveal before Mario gets a net thrown over him by villager, an unknown opponent knocks him backwards while in what we now know as the punch out! ring. If you watch the scene it looks like it was edited to make it look like bowser hit him but it was clearly another opponent. Why exactly would they have created that intro featuring the punch out ring if they weren't going to reveal it as such for months and months? In fact; it could be argued that the smash logo and scrolling marquee were also part of a hasty edit job since they changed their mind about revealing little Mac at that time, not to mention that it also jives with the leaky 3 story. I feel like special attention should be paid to this E. Gadd & Tingle leak. What if Luigi wasn't given the poltergust again because there were plans to rep Luigi's mansion via E. Gadd instead ? It seems like a perfect off the wall sort of sakurai-esque move we could expect and Tingle is a no brainer. Before you bring up villager's balloon recovery, tingle can use his single giant balloon from majora's mask and it can have different physics properties than the balloon fight villager recovery. (Plenty of specials are similar in smash bros; sonic and megaman's up special come to mind)
In closing, this leak seems to have quite a bit of credibility and to add to it: the details are few yet specific unlike most though it could be that the leak inventor arrived at the conclusions that I did but still; more believable than a lot of leaks I have seen so far and actually love the idea of E gadd repping Luigi's Mansion, not to mention Tingle would be the ultimate troll character, haha."
