Sakurai should just make a "Smash" Ridley where he draws inspiration from a few original sources, but is an outright new design, while still immediately recognizable.
It's going to be a Chibi Ridley in Smash.

I really don't mind Other M's Ridley that much. His mouth/bill annoys me a little bit but other than that he isn't that bad. That stringy neck is more ridiculous. If Other M Ridley was in Super Metroid and they introduced stringy neck Ridley in Other M everyone would prefer the former making complaints like how is neck can even support his body, how you could snap his neck with little force, or how he could possibly eat anything or breathe fire with a neck that thin.
The big thing that bugs me about Other M's Ridley is that he looks more like a generic monster. Ridley has always had this look about him that made him look very alien, like he is, really. Other M makes him look less alien and more... spook from under the bed. He doesn't look like something that could harbor incredible intellect, instead just looking like something that would eat you just to eat you.I really don't mind Other M's Ridley that much. Other Midley is on the roids.

We can "fix" that.

I have no idea what direction the staff was going in when they made that decision, so ugly
That's what will probably happen if they go through with it.
Zelda was announced without Sheik. Clearly Sheik has been cut.
The move listings on the Dojo weren't added until Sheik was revealed (the last default character revealed).Interestingly, Sheik was "revealed"/reconfirmed for Brawl almost half a year after Zelda's initial "reveal", but she was already confirmed by default when Sakurai listed Transform as Zelda's Down-B Special.
(Of course, I doubt that Sheik has been cut, but one never knows.)
most people here seem to be on a take what you get basis. samus's design has been updated to match her other m design too so i imagine we would get other m ridley if anything at allOther M's Ridley design is a jumbled, awful mess that's seems like it's trying to be as extreme as possible, like something I would have doodled in a notebook during class in sixth grade. No Ridley period (playable or otherwise) would be better than that thing.
Then most size "debates" would and should die because it would technically be a "new" Ridley.
There's a name for people bringing up the "size" argument. Toobigots.

That form of logic seems to be a slippery slope in regards to the thread. Why stop at size? Why debate at all about character reveals/inclusions or anything at all related to the upcoming games if none of us here (assumedly) are or work with Sakurai and hence have no inflence in the decision-making process?
The size debates are a little stale, but still valid within the context of a forum like this. For all it's worth, we could have been arguing about Little Mac's size, and if it would be better if he really was so little, or maybe somewhere in the mid-range. In the end, he got revealed, and all possible discussion would have been moot save for the enjoyment of having it.
lawl =3
The TP designs were likely kept for consistency between the Zelda characters. I don't see how that applies to Ridley keeping his old design at all--in fact, I would argue the opposite: that character consistency between franchises is something they are trying to keep, which would almost certainly guarantee Other M's terrible Ridley design. The Zelda characters were hardly changed at all from their TP-based appearance. They could probably shrug off having a non-OM Ridley.
That comment was related to my previous. I was saying those debates SHOULD end contingent upon a Ridley redesign.
So whats going on in here
The usual "Wait for pic that has a 75% chance of being disappointing and Anth0ny Gif of the day"
The move listings on the Dojo weren't added until Sheik was revealed (the last default character revealed).
Gerudo Valley.Well...at least it's not the Diddy/Dixie team.
Edit: Wait, what's that 3DS stage?
So predictable >.>
pretty nice screens.
