Nobody generally thinks diddy is a ugly character, and im not talking about just smash 4, when he was announced for brawl aswell.
as for annoying, he is apparently so not annoying to play as that he is top tier in brawl.

I think all the Kong's are ugly, in fact, all apes are pretty damn ugly.
And tier has nothing to do with how annoying he is to play. If you learn how all his weird attacks work of course you can use him well, but if you're just hitting random and you get put with Diddy and don't know how to use him you're gonna do crap compared to using Pit or Meta Knight and such.

Okay, let's assume that Ridley is in, an unlockable character, and all the characters they've shown so far are starters.
Why would they no reveal the one newcomer that is one of the most wanted remaining Nintendo characters to become playable? Don't you think that would be extremely stupid? Why would they reveal characters that aren't as popular (Little Mac, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina), but not the one character that has been topping "most wanted" polls as part of the top 5 most-wanted for years now?
I mean, again. The newcomers in Brawl that were hidden were: ROB, Lucario, Wolf, Toon Link, Sonic, Snake.
And we knew about Sonic and Snake prior to the game's release cause 3rd parties.

Yay. He was deemed a very strong character by a handful of members on smashboards based on his performances in tournaments where the Top100 or so of 12 MILLION SSBB players competed.
1. That still doesn't give any indication of how annoying he is to play or to play against (just look how much everyone hates IC aka GOD in Melee or MK in Brawl)
2. That list is completely and utterly irrelevant for the average non-competitive playing SSB fan (and for most competitive players since they're not good enough to utilize their character to the fullest - although tiers DO become more relevant the higher you move up, of course)

That doesn't disprove it yet.
They easily could make the banana his Side B (since we haven't seen that one in the screens), or have him transform some other way, like with a taunt.
I don't think the translator leak is true, but so far nothing has disproven it just yet - the only exception being the date of reveals, but PR decisions change a lot.

If he isn't revealing unlockables, like usual, I don't think Luigi is an exception. He likely just got promoted to starter. Melee did turn Ness and C.Falcon into starters. It was only Brawl that went with "if you've been an unlockable before, you'll be an unlockable again for no reason at all... even if you're in the opening movie". He has revealed Toon Link already too, don't forget that. If anything, like Brawl, the exceptions probably would be the third party characters.

Diddy is rad as heck. He's a very fun character to play around with. I think he might be one of those characters that's hard to change though, since his "realism" isn't comparable to say Mario from Brawl to Smash 4. Maybe he'll have more changes when the game launches.

Hey! I haven't been paying much attention to this thread although I am super stoked on the game. Just wondering, have we heard anything about the stage editor returning from Brawl? That thing would fucking rule with the gamepad.

Still not much. All we know about aside from characters, items and stages is that there's a single player mode similar to melee's adventure mode and that trophies are returning.

I knew we weren't getting SSE but didn't know we were getting something similar to Melee's adventure mode. Although I didn't mind SSE adventure mode was waaaaaay better and more fun with multiple playthroughs so that makes me happy.

Hate to nitpick, but it was never said the single player would be like Melee's. It was just said that it wouldn't have cutscenes like SSE.
Which is good because Melee's Adventure Mode was horribly boring.
That hasn't quite been explicitly stated, or even implied by Sakurai really. We just know we're getting a single player mode that's not like SSE.

It's her back air. It was already shown in one vid (I don't remember which one). The angle of the pic makes it look like a dash.

It's also possible the stage is like spear pillar (or mushroomy kingdom) where it's random every time you start it up. There was more than 1 ring in punch out, as you got further in the game. It's possible there are 2 (or more) and it's just random which it is. It could also depend on if you have mac, sure, which is kinda neat. I like the idea of stages being different depending on who is in them. Maybe if villager is in smashville, more stuff happens. Heck, what if everyone's 'home stage' was slightly different if they were in it. We already have alfonzo precedence.
