Free Bonus for who desires it.

Very tempted to take that.

Edited: if anyone want to take it then they are welcome to

I've been thinking about this for awhile now. As the game is supposed to come out in 2014 there are a lot of wild guesses to when it will come out. But one thing is always missing that I find odd- the different release times in each territory.

So even if this was planned for late this year, would there be months wait time between each version or would they try to release them all relatively close? If they're shooting for a release date of end of 2014, that might just be Japan. It took 2 months to get Brawl to NA and half a year to get it to AUS and EU. That could push it to 2015.

Crossing my fingers that we get a bomb dropped on us at E3 for a worldwide release this year, but knowing how Sakurai and Nintendo work- the only unknown is how much work Namco is doing to get it completed and how big the team really is.

If Sakurai wants to be obscure, he should make Bleak the Snowman (DKC3) an Assist Trophy for the DK franchise:

I'm only like 5% serious, but still, that 5% thinks it would be funny/awesome to see Bleak scampering around the background of a level, lobbing snowballs into the battlefield.

Bleak would also make us DKC super-fans feel sufficiently smug and nerdy being able to point and say, "I know that guy!"

Based off of anticipation, it would probably be in their best interest to release it in NA first, but they ain't gonna do it. Nope, nope, nope.

Sakurai's previous game (KI: Uprising) released simultaneously worldwide, so I'm hoping something similar is planned this time around. That game was just as text-heavy as Smash Bros. is, and it had a lot more dialog.

Gotta say, when Sakurai's unpredictable, he's really unpredictable... but when he's predictable, he's really predictable.

You hear that, Sakurai? Now you have to surprise us with a Ridley reveal video on Monday to be more unpredictable.

I'm getting hyped up!

But I would really love a release date.

I just hope is not around the same time as Bayonetta (when we finally get a release date for that)

What if the character select screen is a RAINBOW

Thanks to Dimitri for the counts,
Character background colors on the site

7-8 Blue Colors
8 Green
2 Red
3 Yellow
2 Pink
1-2 Purple

Now I wanna figure out what color all the remaining veterans would be.

Ganondorf - Red
Rob - Red
Pokemon Trainer - Red
Nes - Red

Wolf - Gray (or Red or dark purple)
Snake - Gray

Falco - Blue
Ike - Blue (or red)

Yoshi - Green

Wario - Yellow
Lucas - Yellow
Captain Falcon - Yellow (really, most colors work for him)

Metaknight - Purple

Jigglypuff - Pink

Ice Climbers - White (or blue)

Game and Watch - the gray/green color he has on actual game and watch devices

Can someone edit this into a reveal splash card thing? You know, like the whole "Little Mac Punches In!!"

"Ronald McDonald Drives Thru!"
or
"Ronald McDonald Eats Out!"

I tried to, but I don't know how to make the card. Here's a render with the drop shadow, though:

I think this will happen:

March 14th - Yoshi (Yoshi's New Island for 3DS Release Date)
March 28th - Wario (One year anniversary of Game & Wario)
April ?? - Newcomer for the Nintendo Direct
April 25th - Game & Watch (NES Remix 2 for Wii U Release Date)
May 2nd - Metaknight (Kirby Triple Deluxe for 3DS Release Date)

You guys think this is reasonable?
I'm not sure about Game and Watch but the rest seems likely.

I still think that Klubba would be such a cool character to have represented as an AT. He was the only Kremling that didn't follow K. Rool, and also had a personality. I thought he was really awesome, even though he was just a palette swap of Kudgel.

It would be sweet to place your sprites in a crowd/group arrangement for the roster. I'd probably give it a shot some point if it hasn't already been done.

I think Iwata recently said something about them trying to get more games out simultaneously worldwide, and cited Pokemon as an example.

I could be making that up, though.

Either way, if it's out in Japan first, I'm importing a Japanese Wii U!

I think a worldwide release is pretty much guaranteed. Most Nintendo games these days are.

Fewer and fewer this year... Kirby and Yoshi are months apart in their Japan/EU/US release dates. But as long as it's just their second tier games I suppose it's not that big a deal.

You know what Nintendo needs? A game series in which an elephant is the main character and then put him/her in Smash Bros. Elephants are my favorite animals so I would main the fuck out of him/her.

Taj the Genie coming in 2015 for the 3DS. Carpet riding action!

So who all would be in favor of Cranky Kong joining the roster? Id kinda prefer him over Dixie. Dixie to me kinda lacks personality. She is essentially female diddy kong personality wise and all she really has going for her is her ponytail twirl.

I think both should get in. DK is a big enough franchise, but if we had to choose one, i think I'd pick Dixie over Cranky.

If I had to choose then it would be Dixie but Donkey Kong's mainline games aren't some rare entity any more. The franchise is big enough and old enough to have Cranky and Dixie. Too bad for Kiddy though. I bet he would have gotten a little more love if he replaced Chunky in DK 64. As a matter of fact him and Dixie should have been in instead of that growth spurtin Tiny. Rare betrayed me back then.
