No Tiki is different she's an oracle, I believe. I had Robin and Nowi marry so I got two children's.
Eh, I just assumed that based on the transformation. Didn't figure there to be two Mankete class characters in the same timeline. Gotta go catch up on more Fire Emblem

One thing I have found is going on the JP Miiverse, you'll very rarely find a post requesting new characters, or demanding things - it's predominantly fan art or discussion for existing characters and celebrating the series and what we have already - whereas the EN Miiverse is atrocious by comparison~

I've taken those quotes with a grain of salt. It might be some random people on forums or twitter but for the most part, you can't really take what they reported for granted.
It's media and if it means clicks, those people will gladly scapegoat a demographic just for views.
As for Tiki, who else is on team Japan's Ridley?

Tiki's been in other Fire Emblem's than Awakening, right? A character that can transform into a beast is a pretty neat concept. I think she'd be a more interesting choice than Chrom or Lucina.

I read some on a comment section of a japanese new site and it was pretty much the same as this. They didn't trip out as badly as those samples but I saw one guy say "Who?" and another say "I finally learned this guy's name". Occasional people thinking his inclusion threatens Takamaru's as a retro rep even though Little Mac isn't retro anymore.

Agreed BassForever. I think my Takamaru hype (on top of general hype for a battojutsu user) was kicked into overdrive because of all the little winks and nudges towards his franchise in the last few big N games. It'd suck if this was leading towards a whole lot of nothing.

From what I remembered is that Sakurai would like to add Takamaru to Super Smash Bros but he need to shown up in video game in order to get in Smash. I believe he said that after Melee got released. I wonder if he remembered what he said and know the fact that he got in three different games.
I honestly don't think you should invest so much stock into this quote anymore, especially in a post "Villager made it in" world.

Villager got in most likely because Sakurai feels like there aren't many big characters to chose from. Had to go back and revisit old decisions.
I think that is a result of Sakurai changing his line of thinking of what can be a fighting character in Super Smash Bros.

or maybe villager got in because of how popular animal crossing is and times and technology have changed and it has made the inclusion of such a non fighter character plausible? I think some people are possibly underestimating Namco's involvement in sm4sh. That fact alone is another reason why I wouldnt be entirely surprised by Ridley being playable. Having a veteran fighting game dev team onboard is a big deal and could really help them implement things that they didn't think they could balance properly IMO.
It'll never happen Victoria but imagine 64 Kirby vs Melee Fox vs Brawl Meta Knight vs SSB4 Marth.

Sakurai outright mentioned Nintendog and Villager as non-fighters so they would not be playable characters. Now it seems Sakurai has rethought his decision on the matter.

As awesome and fan servicey as that would be, I'd rather the dev time be spent on entirely new things, like mechanics changes, moveset tweaks, new characters, better stages, etc etc etc. Maybe they could do something similar to that with DLC one day since they won't need the entire team intact for such a thing?

hell, it should be 64 Pikachu in the first place
no duh it'd be a later add in ala USF4, otherwise all the Brawl characters except Meta Knight would be garbage with a direct port (.....yeah previous characters would need to be modified a bit for that)

You don't think having a dedicated core fighting game team, handpicked would increase the chances of fulfilling objectives that were attempted or considered in the past? Granted, It is pretty obvious that Sakurai has had a paradigm shift in what is suitable and doable for a smash character anway but don't kid yourself: All of Smashgaf and other fanboards is just baseless, friendly speculation for the most part. I see your point though.
Now about that Nintendog, hah. Think a playable one could happen, regardless of the AT? How about other possible non fighters that were considered that could make it now? I can't think of any off the top of my head; balloon fighter is probably out though. Excitebiker, the more I think about it , seems to be more and more probable since that is another that Sakurai considered and decided wasn't doable. Like someone mentioned before, at this point, ramps all over the stages for the moveset to work is a flimsy excuse and could be remedied with spawnable downsized ramps. Can you imagine how awesome his ariels would be?!!!

I haven't played the new Kid Icarus, so I don't know much..but why do people want Palutena in so much? What makes her so cool? Not being a dick, but I know absolutely nothing about her. I googled her and the first couple of images was fan art of her banging out Pit, so I stopped.
