Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

There's no reason for Nintendo to have a Direct other than to highlight a specific game they want to advertise. They showed us their lineup for Spring and early Summer with the last direct. Any information pertaining to the second half of the year is going to be at E3 -- which Nintendo is admittedly returning to a more traditional presence this year.

They've had those types of NDs before, I wouldn't be surprised if they focused a ND this month or April dedicated to MK8. But they could also have a short ND where they talk about eShop games and a handful of retail games with more details, who knows with Nintendo?

That's from the JPN only remake of The Mystery of the Emblem; Fire Emblem: Shin Monshou no Nazo ~ Hikari to Kage no Eiyuu, which is Marth's most canon appearance.

It's an amazing Fire Emblem game and it's pretty much Awakening before Awakening on the DS. I'd recommend it to you guys who haven't picked it up. It introduced pretty much most of the mechanics in Awakening such as making a playable avatar and what not.

Ive heard a lot about that game in the FE OT . Nintendo why you no localize?

My money is on Palutena or Takamaru for next newcomer reveals.

I have a Japanese copy and played it when it came out. There probably has been a fan translation for it since it came out. I don't know how to add the English to the cart, I played it in Japanese but if you're really interested I might loan the cart to someone or something.

Try looking around and you might find something.

Seeing that Advance Wars Days of Ruin came to Japan via Club Nintendo, it's probable the game may be localized through the eShop or given out as a prize. We won't know since it's NoA lol...

Problem is that he's talking about April ND. I would agreed with him if he's taking about Mario Kart Direct or Yoshi Direct; but April Nintendo Direct is where I would disagreed with him there. April is bimonthly direct and I'm pretty sure that they would like to show something related to Smash 4. He claimed that they are going to save up the news just for E3 2014. I'm pretty sure that they have so much to show about Smash 4 so I don't think they need to worry about the contents.

ikr, Nintendo localized the shitty DS remake but not the good one

To be fair, Shadow Dragon wasn't a bad game. It's just the other one was superior. You'd need to play both anyway to understand Marth's story since Mystery of the Emblem is the sequel to the original.

Yeah theres no such thing as a bad fire emblem game

could also give Ally, Zero, etc. access :P
besides Armada's in Europe, they don't own Wii Us over there

Screw that, #FreeaMSa. Give aMSa access and have him make all the low tier characters good before everyone else does the matchups and Space Animals return as top tier.

Yeah theres no such thing as a bad fire emblem game

But there is such a thing as a bad lord... *cough* Roy *cough*

His father, Eliwood was superior in every way.

Mew2King claims to being streaming it when it comes out and say he should have it weeks before it releases to the public. He had a thread over at Smashboards. He also said he was probably going to make a gamecube controller for it.

No chance in hell this is happening. When has a "pro" player (that doesn't work in the industry) ever got access to a game weeks before release, let alone a Nintendo game?

Come on.

Halo 4 had a freaking open exhibition tournament at MLG before release, and a bunch of teams actually got in practice even though they weren't supposed to
of course, this is Nintendo

Yea I'll definitely look around for it when I get the chance, thanks for the offer though.

Imo it was pretty bland compared to the other releases we got here. Radiant Dawn is the only one I still need to beat from the bunch but those prices lol.
--------

If this game does not have a world-wide simultaneous release, I'm pretty sure there will be guys getting it earlier no matter what through Japanese vendors.

weeks? How?
People are reading way too into that comment I think. He said "probably" weeks before it's out "in the US" (iirc, maybe off on the exact wording). I get the feeling he just expects it to come out in Japan first (as Brawl did) and import a copy.

Aw man, I hope this happens. Nintendo teaming up with the competitive Smash community to really blow the scene up is something I really want to see. This could be the first step.

...But yeah, it's Nintendo :l

we're not getting another direct til e3. they literally have nothing else to show

I wouldn't be so sure, like I said before, they could dedicate a ND to MK8
Even if you're talking about a ND revealing a new character, they could show off a new low-profile game for 2015 and show new stuff for previously revealed games

We've been getting bimonthly Directs for about two years now.

Yoshi's New Island trailer and release date (for Japan)
Yarn Yoshi trailer
Mario Kart trailer
Smash Bros. newcomer trailer
Hyrule Warriors trailer
Bayonetta 2 trailer
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem trailer
NES Remix 2
Usual eShop promotional stuff

That's enough to fill a Direct for April.

Thank you for posting this! I was catching up on the thread and only had this on my mind after reading Anth0ny's post =) Nintendo hasn't done anything similar, but these kinds of things do exist; they're great PR material that pretty much writes itself

Also, Nintendo not having a Direct until E3 is bananas. Correct me if I'm wrong (since I know there'll be people in this thread keeping better track than I do), but wasn't it around this same time last year that Nintendo had the megaton Directs while there was a general opinion in the gaming industry that "Ninty ain't got game. That 3ds is toast."? There probably won't be that many big reveals between now and E3, but even showing off SMTxFE or dropping a name like Metroid, Star Fox, or F-Zero would be enough for a Direct, and a very memorable one at that.
