Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

I feel like we're going to get Yoshi on Thursday, with the English Miiverse post mentioning Yoshi's New Island and the Japanese post mentioning Mario Party.

Well I finally got round to playing Epic Yarn and I decreed that Kirby's Epic Yarn based stage will be shown this week.

Oh yeah new pic tonight. More Artificial Hype.

The general "pattern" has been two characters reveals a month, right? So surely we must get a character this week and the following week seeing how there is only two more weeks of March.

So, just had an epiphany. If we've already had Pokemon Stadium in Melee and Pokemon Stadium 2 in Brawl...

SSB4's going to have the Pokemon Colosseum, right? :O

You might want to second guess your feeling because trying to figurine out Sakurai is about as easy as guessing the twist to a prof.layton game correctly without actually playing it.

Still Weekend Smash for another 7 hours :p

But it's almost 11am on Monday ;)

I think the stage is called Pokemon Stadium 2 because it's the second Pokemon Stadium stage rather than being based off the game Pokemon Stadium 2 :P
Like how Brawl also had Flat Zone 2.

So therefore we can easily just get a stage called Pokemon Stadium 3.

The third "Stadium" type game in Japan was called "Pokemon Stadium GS," as our first Pokemon Stadium was actually their Pokemon Stadium 2. The true first Pokemon Stadium never came out anywhere but Japan (and it was a feature incomplete proof of concept at best).

Monday would be the perfect day to reveal something green. *sarcasm*

King K. Rool isn't not green. Plus, he's got a gold crown and stomach

Actually never mind. We all know, of course, that a certain green-haired character will be revealed tonight:
Spike Spiegel!

You know what it's about time we see some actual freaking gameplay. I'm sick of a picture a day. We haven't seen any actual demo footage since E3 last year for God's sake. Chances are we won't see more until next E3.

We don't know about game modes.
We don't know about online.
We don't know about the music. (Will some be exclusive to one version like stages are, for instance?)
We know next to nothing about the game except for:

- Characters
- Stages
- Items

I would love to see some more gameplay, as well. But in all fairness, even just receiving little tidbits daily is more than what can be said of other big name releases. I feel that once Nintendo reveals a release date in their E3 direct and allows the general public to demo a match (don't let us down Ninty!), gameplay videos will come a-flooding.

Of note though, is the fact that we've been receiving pretty interesting gameplay news in the PoTD's, along with everything you listed. Those do hint at what kind of games these Smashes will be

I would love for the April Direct to not give us a newcomer but to announce some (even just one) of the things you mentioned. Also, like 4 minutes of random gameplay or just a 3:00 march like the one from last E3

I've booked E3 off from work, but I only ever watch Nintendo's stuff anyway. Anyone know exactly which date it'll fall on yet?

Really hoping for a release date at E3.

Nintendo's E3 Conference has been for many years the last one on the first day of E3, so this year it would be on June 10th.

You all know what would be really funny.

If wolf got revealed this week , not Yoshi not wario . Wolf just wolf ass wolf with some weird new outfit.

Did we ever get an explanation over all the years as to why Brawl's netcode was so terrible?

I don't think there is any complicated reason. Fighting games have always had trouble offering decent netcode. On top of that Smash Bros. typically has two extra players per match which increases lag compounded with items, changing levels, and all the other things the game has to keep track of.

Also, Nintendo is pretty awful when it comes to anything online so that certainly didn't help.

Yo YO!

We should get a soccer/ Pokemon stage.

As far as the netcode goes,

someone find that " mean while at nintendo gif" with the gametailers guy .

crazy fun unwarranted conspiracy theory time:

we haven't seen shiek because shklee's been removed and had the moveset retrofitted onto simon belmont

think about it

there's about a zero percent chance of this happening

It's possible that we wouldn't get detail with the battles until they release the demo (E3 or Best Buy experience)

Also I don't think Japan celebrate St. Patrick Day.

My guess is that we won't see anymore of the Tomodachi and the Find Mii stages until Mii is revealed, which I bet will happen in the next Direct.

It's more likely.

I'm pretty sure it's the last one, it's not like 1v1 no items matches are significantly better on lag

Why don't they just go ahead and make a Nintendo SPORTZ. Play football, football, basketball, hockey, baseball and more with your favorite Nintendo characters!

I wonder how Lumiose is set up, is it a flying around the city stage or a set one

Surprisingly enough, they do. I live in Tokyo and see St. Patrick's Day ads everywhere.

I think it's only in some areas, though. I know Matsue in Shimane Pref. celebrates it because of Lafcadio Hearn and I think maybe Fukuoka, or where ever else he lived, also does too. I've never heard of other cities celebrating, though.
