Everyone has rough teenage years. Ridley was just going through a phase.

I wonder how Shulk's custom moves will work. He still has a lot of arts that are not included in his default moveset, but I don't see what can replace his neutral B move.

People should stop calling ti clone corner because it don't even have HALF of the clones on that image.

'full clones'?

Brawl basically got rid of 'pure' clones, by modifying the moves enough that they were pretty radically different, but clearly inspired from one another.

'clone corner' is assumed that the skeletons/animations will remain IDENTICAL, but attributes, character models, visual effects, etc may be different.

Clones in brawl did NOT share animations at all, smash 4 clones (at least lucina) has IDENTICAL animations to marth. It is assumed that since she's down there, and so are Dr. Mario and Dark Pit, that they, too, will share IDENTICAL animations with their counterparts.

I only see one scan on Reddit, but you guys are talking about a list of characters and Little Mac and stuff. Is there a second page of scans somewhere else?

Edit: I see Mac in the first scan, my mistake. But what of this character list?

But Dark Pit has an entirely different weapon that would look ridiculous using bow animations and Doc with Fludd is too absurd for me to even process.

I agree, but they're right next to lucina, who is 100% animation clone.

Dark pit/dr mario may be 90% animation clone? But more cloney than young link, for example, who shares NO animations with adult link. Same w/ ganondorf and captain falcon. 'Similar' movesets, but no shared animations.

Famitsu puts the characters in seemingly what is CSS order

  • Mario Luigi Peach Bowser Yoshi Rosalina
  • DK Diddy Link Zelda Sheik Toon Link Samus ZSS
  • Pit Palutena Marth Ike Robin Lucina Kirby Dedede metaknight Little mac
  • Fox Pikachu Charizard Lucario Greninja
  • CaptainFalcon Villager Olimar Wii Fit Trainer
  • Pac-Man MegaMan Sonic Miis

Mostly matches up with:

Except for lucina... so maybe clone corner dissolves once it's complete? Or famitsu is just lumping her in w/ FE characters.

So no new Metroid or Zelda rep unless they completely change the rows or if they're a clone?

Just because Dark Pit's holding the Dark Pit Staff in his render doesn't necessarily mean he's going to fight with it. I could see him spinning it around for a taunt and putting it away.

Well, how many clone characters in fighting games have had their move-set completely revamped to the point you couldn't tell who their original inspiration was?

See...imagine this scenario. People LOVE Fox. But his moveset isn't necessarily the most faithful to his character. Let's say some new Star Fox games came out, a whole bunch of them, which gave Fox a distinct on-foot battle style. Sakurai for Smash 7 changes Fox to be more faithful to the source material. People would likely freak, because they're so used to how Fox plays.

There are people who main Ganondorf and, even if he sucks, and even if he isn't faithful, they like how the character controls. Changing Ganondorf radically to the point he plays completely different from how he does now would no doubt upset those who have stuck with Ganondorf for years through the iterations of Smash, and likely want him to stay basically the same, but improve in minor ways that make him a stronger fighter, but still retains his basic gameplay.
Yeah, for sure. He could've done more to differentiate him though IMO. That utilt is damn awful, so he could given him something in place of it for example.

...A definite possibility. But even Ganondorf never had the sword in his CSS render.

Yep, Brawl clones are best clones. We then have characters like Lucina here who is just an alt pretty much. Ideally, we'd live in a game world with no clones.

If Lucina is a clone than Fox, Ganondorf, Toon Link and Ike are too
Lucina is way more a clone than Falco, Ganondorf, and Toon Link. She even shares neutral standing animations with Marth to the point that her hand hovers a good six inches off her chest instead of resting on it. She's just Marth with new properties--the "Brawl clones" have a lot of their own animations. Lucina, outside of taunts and her entrance animation, seems to have none.

An alt in (almost) all but name. Not that I'm complaining... I still think it'd be weird to have an alt with a different name. Kind of dreading seeing how that's implemented with Bowser Jr. and co.

I know we haven't seen any evidence of this yet, but I do wonder if she will receive more of her own animations and refinement before release.

Every time people ask for scans we should just advice them to look for them in their respective subreddit. They'll be there 100% of the time.

She still should have been the Marth replacement if you ask me.
Seeing as Marth is the face of the Fire Emblem franchise, I'm gonna have to respond to that with a HELL NO!!! I love Lucina as much as the next guy, but a full-on Marth replacement she is not.

Except for, ironically, today. There was only one scan on Reddit. Maybe they're up now, though.

Edit: Nope, I still don't see them. Just the first page translated.
