I disagree that Miis aren't aesthetically interesting. The only thing absolutely customizable about them is their face - their general body shape and even hair styles are well crafted and visually unique.
I just hope the inevitable Smash Bros. Mii has arms and legs. I love the model in Rusty's Real Deal Baseball for that reason - it makes the Miis look so cute and fun and just generally nice.

Every time I've said "There's no way Sakurai will be able to make this character fit in," they either fit in immediately or make sense after a while.

That's what I'm hoping for with Mii and Pacman. I don't -want- either of them in, but since it looks like they are inevitable, maybe there is some way for them to fit in reasonably well.
As long as there is customization restriction on the Mii's so I don't have to see some sort of penis-face or Hitler every single match, that is. Or maybe some option so you only see a generic Mii instead of customization from someone on the internet.

I recalled that I used to be against Mii's inclusion in Super Smash Bros Brawl hype era. Ever since I saw the leak that mentioned Mii will be in the game, so I already came to the term to deal with it.
Edited: I admitted that I actually think they would be great addition if they did it right, but who know.

Y'know, everyone always brings this up, but... I'm curious, are crude Miis really all that common? I think I've maybe seen one Hitler and one penis in my entire time playing Mario Kart Wii and 7 online, and I threw a good handful of hours into both.
I guess what I'm saying is that I suspect that for the vast majority of people the fun of playing as yourself in SSB will outweigh the temptation of playing as a person with a dick-looking face.

They could just pull the Mii from your list of Miis no matter what. Make it always a local Mii, even if the other person sees their Mii.

It's basic psychology. Look at 100's of "regular" Mii's and you won't think twice about them. Look at one with a human elephant for a face, and you'll definitely remember that one that doesn't fit. I've hardly encountered many weird ones in relation to the regular ones, but the weird ones are the ones that can be remembered more easily

Fighters tend to make people extra dickish.
Of the bizarre character entries, I originally hated G&W and Rob. Now, I find the former charming, perhaps because my wife loves him. I still hate Rob and think he is boring and lame. Miis could convince me of their worth, though I would never pick one.

I really hope they don't do anything like this, whether it's pulling from your Miis or using a generic Mii. In my eyes it would kinda defeat the entire purpose, and Nintendo evidently wasn't too concerned about Hitlers since they didn't do anything like this in the Mario Kart games - games which I would wager have a much larger child audience than the SSB games.
My biggest concern about Miis is that they might have an incredibly obnoxious voice like they do in the Mario Kart games. 7 in particular... I like using my Mii but goodness is that voice annoying.

Trailer: Mario, Link, and Kirby are walking around talking pictures of everyone. Each picture they take drops a box from the sky. Then they take a picture of Sakurai. But this time the box lands on top of an unsuspecting Mii's head. Mii removes the box and uppercuts all of them, all while having Sakurai's face.

You know what would be fun? A Google spreadsheet of all the characters that could be added. Then folks here log in, put their name on the y-axis, and fill in all of the intersecting spaces with a +, -, or = for whether they approve, disapprove or are ambivalent toward a character's inclusion.
Help me identify the minority Palutena haters so they can be destroyed.

I believe that Miis will turn out awesome (though I love wii sports to death in all its forms so I don't need much convincing) but he'll have really worked a miracle if he crafts a pac-man interpretation I don't hate.

The original Pac man design has a lot of charm and since Sakurai seems to lean torwards the classic interpretations, I think it will end up being great.
I say the same for the Krystal haters. I know that feel, bro/sis.

What if we got (2D) Pacman as an assist trophy, and also a Pacman stage but no playable Pacman? I know it will be the first time a third party franchise gets represented like that but maybe with Namco working on the game it can be the exception. That also leaves space for another Namco character if they wanted.

If it gets made, I want it available for play. I don't deprive others based on my own taste. Ugly and horrible characters sometimes have their place.
Unless they are named Waluigi and Kystal.

Me too. Personally, I'm hoping for a return to Brawl's My Music but some more orchestrated music ala Melee.
At the very least I'm assuming we won't have placeholder music during gameplay footage this time.
It'd probably be banned. In non-competitive play, it'd be pretty funny. People surprising each other with their Miis when they come over. I wouldn't be outraged at that even though it'd be a restriction of features.
