Under what defintion? It's strongly intimated in the Galaxy games that Rosalina is immortal (or at least has lived for millenia) and she acts a motherly figure to celestial entities. I'd say that qualifies as a goddess by Greek/Roman standards.

To be fair, they're almost all also 'mario items' as well. The only exclusive 'mario kart' ones are the spiny blue shell and the lightning bolt (and debatably bullet bill since he's only an ITEM in mario kart).

She's never outright stated to be and the Mario franchise at large doesn't have a very clear definition of what a deity is - some of the RPGs have certain characters clearly defined as gods and Mario Party occasionally makes mention of them as well, but who even knows regarding characters like Rosalina.

Yep, if it's real then the leaker seemed to go out of his way to post the least convincing leak ever:

1. Why the 3DS a system she already has a model on?
2. Why is she just standing there (in the same pose as her idol in KIU BTW) & not showing off 1 of her moves?
3. Why Battlefield, the most frequently seen stage & thus the one with the most material to photoshop with? Why not a completely new stage?!

Forget dissecting the pixels, basic common sense questions debunk it.

I don't understand this. You mean to say that it's much more realistic that they were going to... import the model of Palutena from KI:U instead of making an actual model for Smash? Because they totally took Mario's model from 3D Land, am I right? I'm actually confused by what you mean by this.

Because it's very hard to 'show off a move' (which generally involve pushing buttons) and also take a discreet clear shot without anything that might give your identity away (like your hand) in the shot.

How many people would buy it if it were a 'completely new stage'? I'm reasonably sure it wouldn't be difficult, especially given the quality of the 3D model itself (which, assuming it's not real, the leaker made on their own). What do you know about the circumstances the alleged leak was taken in? If I recall correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but the leak was taken on a part of Battlefield we'd never seen before, and while yes, it could have been photoshopped, generally that leaves evidence that I am reasonably sure hasn't been found.

I remain unconvinced by your 'common sense'.

I don't believe that Gematsu rumor because of the Chorus Kids addition. Almost anything is possible but I'll believe that when I see it.
 
Hopefully they will have made some improvements tot he online mode. Because what they showed in the direct was kinda terrible.

Even if you don't like what's being offered in 'for fun' and 'for glory', playing with friends has the same exact options as playing locally. What specifically do you think is terrible? I have a few minor complaints (for glory only having final destination and not battlefield, for example), but nothing seems 'terrible' to me.

The lucario leak, I think. I think mewtwo was leaked for melee, too? I dunno. Gaf vets know more than I do.

During one of the final Brawl trailers before release a small icon of Lucario, Ness and Jigglypuff were seen. It could have been deliberate by Sakurai but It was certainly a big deal at the time.

Personally, I'm really happy with the online mode.

All-out FFAs with no chance of FD appearing = hooray! Similarly, I'm an FD Whore so I'm hyped for For Glory and don't want that touched at all. And I'm glad there's matchmaking based on skill but no visible rankings. I want to FD Whore without getting ranked, but I don't want to face people who think spamming Link's Up+B is a viable strategy.

And With Friends having all the options available is good enough for me if I want to actually play other stages or use custom movesets.

So if Namco Bandai delivers with good netcode then I should be satisfied. I would like lobbies with strangers but that's about it, really.

there was a full roster leak for brawl closer to launch, IIRC
And they 'leaked' a few characters prior to launch by accident themselves- a trailer for the sticker system showed heads for a few then-unannounced characters like Ness.

The chaosZero leak was 1 month before initial planned release, but 2+ months from actual release.

Not being able to customize your matches they way you want if you're not playing with friends is my main gripe about online mode. I don't have any friends that has Wii U's and 3DS's, and we don't meet up all the time due to work/school, so I'm pretty much stuck playing 2min matches with no item swtich, or hoping that someone on gaf is playing.
 
I'm glad ChaosZero was right and I hope that Gamefaqs moderator got humbled.

As far as the big leak that has gone around I am pretty much on board. Though Chorus Men, while a really unique choice doesn't really scream Rhythm Heaven to me. Or maybe it does I've only owned one of the games.

I just hope to God there is more to be told and those guys plus the veterans aren't it.

The way Donkey Kong has come back into the spotlight at full force I would be absolutely shocked to not see a newcomer from the series.

I'm talking about leaks like that Chaos leaks, official leaks must be painful for Sakurai.

So for all I can remember, all those text "leaks" til now only mentioned characters but no stage/items. All sounds fake to me.

Yeah, that's unfortunate, but I think with smash bros being a game with SO MANY options, it's a bit hard for you to not only create a custom type of match but then also find people who want to play by YOUR rules. I don't think there's an easy solution to it. I think for fun/for glory is a step in the right direction, though.

I'm corssing my fingers the E3 trailers leak something accidentally. Especially if they show off features, it's sometimes easy to overlook details (like lucario's picture!).

Edited: therefore my point still stand since it was a month before initial release date. Once they announced the release date then we have to keep our eyes out for the leaks a month before.
 
If Mewtwo is added, I wonder if he'll be treated more as a new comer, or a vet. Like, will they make a CGI trailer for him, or just randomly announce him in a Direct or on the website one day.

Everything about Brawl hype was a good time. There's some of that still with the new one, but it's not the same at all.

-The UI in action
-Stages, probably a few we don't know about beforehand!
-Items on, who knows what character will grab a Smash Ball, maybe we will see a new Final Smash or two!
-Hype commentary from the best in the Smash scene
-NEW CHARACTERS

That's going to be pretty hard with the main focus being the WiiU version. I wouldn't want to switch with you right now tbh, being a fan of the 3DS version pretty much exclusively must be excruciating. Is even anything announced regarding the 3DS version at E3? I'm not even sure if there's going to be a 3DS demo on the showfloor, so in the worst case the only new 3DS footage would be from the trailer.

All while the WiiU version gets Invitational and probably about ten million hours of gameplay from showfloor and Best Buy.


I think Live@Treehouse could probably show a bit of 3DS gameplay...
 
Also, I can't seem to find the unaltered version of the japanese trailer that had the lucario/jiggly/ness leak. I can only find one where there are no characters for the stickers. :(

No, not at all. But for whatever it's worth, I think Ness is pretty much 100% and Lucas is 95% coming back. Given that we've seen Mother items and stuff, at least one will almost certainly back, and I see no reason to cut either of them.

I agree with you 100%. They were different enough from one another that it's likely they're both returning.
