Pic of the day. Some of the physical characteristics of Miis get carried over when you use them as Mii Fighters. The smaller ones become speed fighters and the bigger ones are more akin to power fighters.
So they're even more customizable than we thought.

Also, next week should be interesting.

Right?

..

That's actually really interesting. Kinda like Mario Kart.

But how will my penis face Miis be accurately translated into Smash?

Well it's kind of like Falco.

I mean, there's a black guy.

Lando was a black guy.

Lando flew the Millennium Falcon.

The Millennium Falcon sounds like Falco.

I think the leak is legit.

So not only are there 3 options for their attack sets, but players can decide between small and fast and big and heavy? Cool

Also, Falco "Leaker" be gone now

Wouldn't it also take more time to set up the Miis for each console if they decided to use them?

I don't know if the whole "Mii in your wiimote" thing works for the Wii U, and if that would allow the player to use other controller options. I guess it could simply be fixed by having a generic Mii of each different weight class in each tournament console ready for players to use.

I'm a person who is always fully against banning things in games. If it's in a game and is there by design rather than a glitch, then it should be able to be used in all competitive standings.

I see one of the reasons Miis being banned banned being the time it'd take for players to set them up on the tournament consoles, sorta similar to syncing/desyncing controllers, for larger tournaments it'd be a nightmare if they turn out to be good

That's what confuses me. Is there a small size and a big size only, or are there different levels of granularity between them? The PotD isn't clear about it.

When the most interesting thing about a picture is widely considered to be that which it doesn't contain, there may be something of a problem...

Hmm, now that I think about it, they wouldn't likely have created some Miis from scratch just to use in a one-off screenshot, so every time an image like this gets posted, there's a chance that we're actually looking at a secret cameo by anonymous members of the development team!

I would pay money to see a feature length behind-the-scenes documentary on how the daily pics come into being. Where are my answers, man?

true, good point. They would probably have to deal with their movesets also. I will not be surprised if they're banned at least for some time until they figure out the best way to handle them.

It's not a matter of balance but more of easy access. Do you think people are going to take the time and make their miis on every Wii U they play on in tournaments? It's just too much of a hassle.

The height difference isn't TECHNICALLY news. It's noticeable in one of the screenshots on the Mii Fighters page.

Power/speed scaling based on the height, though? That's rather interesting.

It makes me wonder just how many weight/speed classes there are for the Mii characters, and whether stuff like weight would affect it as well.

Hitbox variation is gonna be more important than weight and speed classes.

I think that's how it works in other games with Miis. There's set weight classes and depending on your Mii it will be in whatever it falls closer to.

Conversely, I'm a person who is always for banning things that make the game worse. Maybe it's because one of my first experiences reading about competitive games was in TCGs, where the people that make the game are also the ones that curate the metagame and restrict overcentralising elements.

I wish Nintendo allowed for legendaries in Pokémon tournaments, too.

Cool update. Love the continued customization of Mii's. With that said I'm hoping for standard sizes like small, medium and big. I have enough trouble deciding if my Mii can be any way reflexive of my actual height. Also it would look really weird if the were slight differences between characters fighting as opposed to a few distinct sizes. I hope we can edit sizes in-game instead of them being solely based on the actual size of the created Mii.

I'm still seeing the odd commenter on various sites express their concerns about the game being flooded by encounters with specific Mii characters (e.g. Shrek). "Absolutely no Mii use in random online" is not a difficult concept to grasp, but I'm not surprised that it's escaped the attention of so many people - since, y'know, humanity and all that.
