I re-read my comments and I realized that I came off as bossy. I didn't meant to do that. I just don't want to see the arguments that would ended up getting people banned or quitting this threads because of the debates itself. Or thread getting locked.

I apologized if I came off as rude or bossy.

Yup, they patched it. They even removed the warning signs to reflect the fact in later versions.

That's good news.

I no longer post here, as some know, but I saw this new 3DS trailer and behold, at 1:06, an underwater Steel Diver stage:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlAu1tc_7bQ

Also, some bits of other new footage, until next time!

That's a trophy but it's unknown if it's a stage trophy or not. I hope it's.

Why did you stop posting here? And it's not a Steel Diver stage, it's a trophy representing the game Steel Diver.

He don't want to overhyped the game so that's why he stopped coming here. Iirc

OK, real talk time, Customization, from both a casual and competitive perspective, is probably going to end up like Coin Mode or Special Melee/Brawl. Most people probably will just not use it most of the time, with it only being turned on once in a while when they are feeling adventurous before realizing why they leave it off and going back to playing what they normally play.

We don't necessarily know this yet. There's no reason to dismiss the customizations unless they prove to be time consuming to activate to your preferences. People may very well main Mario with scalding FLUDD or some mixed up version of Palutena.

For me it depends entirely on how easy it'll be to save certain character profiles/customizations.

There's certain special moves or characters I outright dislike, I'll happily customize those characters to actually be fun.

I'll probably use it quite a bit. It's an interesting feature that, unlike the special modes, doesn't interrupt the usual normal flow of matches. I like a good stamina match every now and then, but I do have my preferred stock basic matches. Customization doesn't interfere with that, just adds a bit of spice to characters on an individual basis. Will I whine if I people want it off? Probably not, though.

That all depends on how boring Character Customization is.

I'm going to customise my fighters to be real men.

I was playing ProjectM and notice that Lucario lobs a huge Aura Sphere, was wondering how do you pull that off?
Once you have enough Aura for a special attack, B+A.

I probably won't bother with customization outside Miis.

Then I'll use my Mii against my friends for the same reason I use them in Mario Kart 8: because fuck you, that's why.

It's sticky situation due to the fact that we don't know much about it. One of My circle of friends want to make customization work for our sessions over online. However there is no promises that it would lasted or not because people could get tired of the feature or not. It's all speculation right now.

Entirely depends on how it's implemented. If it's something you can do from the regular match character select screen, people will use it. If it's off somewhere as a different menu item with an entire screen dedicated to one character then it'll eventually be too much work to mess with and people will get bored of it.

Random thought, I was watching some direct feed footage of Smash 3DS, and I can't help but think that the "full" version of the X/Y Trainer Battle arrangement reminds me a lot of the Pokemon anime's BGM.

As much as a I loathe the anime, I do think that the guy who does the anime's BGM does a really, really good job, and there are a few bits in there that sounds like his style.

Yeah, I hear what you mean, I think it's the way the brass sounds and I love it, might be my favourite remix so far out of the few we've heard.

Ah, the theme from the Greninja reveal. Hopefully it appears in the WiiU version, as well. I'm getting both games, but I really want to hear that music on the Elite Four stage.

I'm about to get Project M on The Wii at my office so my coworkers and I could play. We have dumped countless hours into Melee and Brawl and there are only so many times my friend can beat everyone with Pit before I get annoyed. I heard a rumor 4 players with Project M is laggy on the wii. Is that true? Or bull shit

hadnt noticed it myself.

The white controller's triggers were made slightly differently so I find the older ones superior for Melee (they're fine for other games though).

TLDR: Johns.

I'm going with M2K here: Go white and be devestated when you lose your controller like some random scrub xD (thank god someone found it, that will give him the mental bosst he needs to win EVO!!!)

Just came to the realization with Mii's that Lu Bu can be in Smash Bros.

Creating this Mii won't even be a decent challenge.

I love seeing this argument that only elitist tourney players like Melee better than Brawl. I only ever played 64/Melee casually, almost exclusively played with items and didn't even know what wavedashing was until Brawl was announced. I liked Melee far, far better. I thought I had just outgrown the series when I'd finally played Brawl, but going back and playing Melee with friends was still a blast.

It wasn't until Brawl that I preferred 1 vs. 1, no item fights because of how unfun the items had become. Adventure mode/SSE was awful. So many stages with ohko stage hazards. Overall player movement was noticeably different in a way I didn't like. Pokeballs were AWFUL ; ~ ;

*pats back*

alright buddy, good for yous.

I think before auto banning Mii's we should actually play test them at their base moveset before deciding. That would be logical.

Yeah, I hope none of the characters are banned.

Unless they don't have a base moveset, which they might not

Besides the bullying thing, I could've sworn I heard Sakurai say something about them not having a base moveset, which might be tough to balance. So I thought that was another reason he didn't allow them online unless you're playing with friends.

But I guess we will see.

so are mii fighters banned for competitive play?
I think they will & should be. Miis may have a default moveset, but there is still too many variables beyond their moveset. Even if you play with their default moveset, there are 3 different size variants that affect playstyle, which means there would essentially be 9 Miis to choose from (LB, MB, HB, LS, MS, HS, LG, MG, HG). I doubt tournament organizers would want to deal with Light Gunner Mii vs Medium Brawler Mii. Plus, the thought of a Mii winning a tournament just doesn't seem right.

Hearing all the reused voice and music assets from the e3 demo is depressing me. Hope they record new stuff before launch. Pikachu in particular has been making the exact same noises going on three games now.

It would make sense. Sakurais official reason for having the Mii friends-only is that you need a consistent opponent to fight against. If that doesn't apply to Palutena, it's probably because she actually has a default moveset.

In this sense it would be up to the competitive community to either ban Mii's entirely or come to a agreement on a unanimous competitive moveset for all 3 styles.

Stripping the Miis of what makes them Miis defeats the purpose of their inclusion. I think it would just be best to leave them out. They were created for casual play and friendly competitive play.

That would be cool too! The only reason I could see that not happening would be if getting those Miis would be too cumbersome for TO's to get on every console (like the least broken moves are randomly unlocked or something, or you have to select if each Mii is a Brawler, Gunner, or Swordfighrer). It might just be too much work for them to bother with.

This is coming from a person who loves using his Mii in MK8, and can't wait to use Ice T.

Hello,

I am spreading the word about the K. Rool for Smash DLC movement I have started over to NeoGAF for his fans here to join (which, from my experience, there aren't many of here, thanks to SHOULD HAVE BEEN METROID-gate at E3 2013, but I digress). The headquarters of the movement can be found here (http://kremlingkampaign.wordpress.com); the site features what I hope are compelling reasons K. Rool should become a DLC character, as well as ways to reach out to Nintendo and let your desire for this to happen to be known. Feel free to start trying these out early, although I am planning to organize more calculated pushes over the next few weeks and months as well. In addition, there is a 'Supporter Comments' tab where I am compiling fans' praise or personal stories about the character. If you'd like to be featured there, leave a comment on the site (or in this thread, even).

I understand that this is a preemptive push, since the final roster is currently unknown, but the way I see it, there's no downside to getting the ball rolling early. If K. Rool's in the game, the two minutes or so it took to Tweet at or email Nintendo will pale in comparison to the excitement of his reveal. If K. Rool's not in the game, the movement will have already hopefully have some traction, whereas, if it waited until a time when everyone and their mother is crying about their favorites' exclusion, it would get drowned out. I think, by starting early, the chances of this actually working increase a tiny bit, and even if nothing happens, we still raise attention that we want the character back, right before the potential planning for a third Retro DKC begins (it began for Tropical Freeze roughly a year after Returns' release).

Any and all support given is greatly appreciated.

Long live the King!
