I doubt it, especially since the videos are a big deal, these get tons of hits on Youtube, they're hyping up individual new characters more than they ever have before.

I honestly believe they're going to announce all or most of the characters before launch, even if they're secret characters, due to Sakurai's disappointment with all the cutscenes being leaked onto Youtube before release. Why let fans who get the game early spoil the character lineup on you when you can build tons of hype by putting out these character videos in the leadup to release?

I think people misinterpret it, honestly. I think people who think "all newcomers will be revealed via video" or "subspace emissary was cut solely because people will spoil the cutscenes" aren't really interpretting the quotes correctly. I think the quotes are meant to mean that he wants to reveal every newcomer that gets revealed pre-release via a video, but doesn't mean that every newcomer will be revealed pre-release; and I think that while it factored into the SSE being cut, it was far from the sole reason; it simply happens to be the only one he's mentioned in an interview.

Honestly all the main protagonists in the Advance Wars games are traditionally pretty big rubes. Jake from Dual Strike was the worst too. Give me like, literally any other character from the game but the primary protagonists! Sami would be so cool.

My belief that we'll know all the characters before release doesn't entirely come from Sakurai's one or two quotes. Look at Brawl: we knew a lot about the other gamemodes it featured, we were given a lot of information on the music and the stages, on other gamemodes and features. But characters were mostly kept under wraps, especially the veterans.

We know so many more characters now than we did in the road to Brawl's release but don't really know that much about the game's modes and features. I think this is a conscious decision. You can spoil who the characters are but you can't really spoil how a game actually plays.

That is in no way shape or form definitive and one of the craziest non-Bandana Dee things I've seen.

I badly want Ridley as a playable character, but honestly there is a 99% chance he is just a stage hazard like Yellow Devil. My top three most wanted are Takamaru, Ridley, and Isaac. Sakurai executed Takamaru, Ridley was all but deconfirmed in the April direct, and Isaac seems less likely with Robin. All dreams are dead. Just get ready for King K. Rool, Dark Pit, and Baby Mario as the last three newcomers.

Well... I never really cared much for Takamaru, but I've grown to like him and to expect him ever since I entered SmashGAF. I even went as far as to add him to my roster due to that. So I'm not destroyed about him being AT, nor I'm happy about it.

Completely mutilated, yes. Ridley as he SHOULD look like has a wingspan of multiple meters. The wings in that pic are grossly misproportioned and look even more out of place than Pit's wings pre-Uprising. This model is disgusting.

I like SSBM and SSB4 Bowser. SSBM feels like a weird, monster movie type interpretation of Bowser, which makes sense because Bowser hadn't been in a fully 3D game that wasn't blocky as hell at the time (aside form Luigi's Mansion, which came out just a few weeks before the game released). It looks nothing like any other Bowser, but is still clearly Bowser. SSB4 Bowser feels much more cartoony and more like the Bowser seen in typical Mario games. SSBB Bowser feels like a weird half step between the two, looking like Bowser is in most games, but with a weirdly realistic looking texture.

Prospective. The wings are still proportional to the body, the model has simply been scaled down. They appear too small because you see them from the front and not from the side.

Yeah. I'm actually indifferent to Ridley, so I have no bias in believing in crazy theories. He does have a heap of back up material though, explaining his calculations. However, again, I'm not one to validate them haha.

It's just weird to me. A lot of people want Ridley in Smash 4, but hate how he looks at a realistic playing size. That model is all t-posed and creepy looking, of course making it look very off, but it's essentially what he'd look like without Smash 4 gloss.
