Well the English version has
"Where the Fairy Flies" become Airy Lies
, so I don't really know if that's the main reason they had FF. But then idk why they didn't keep the FF in the English version.

i guess its probably because they wanted it to be a full sentence (at least thats my best guess lol)

As bullshit as that leak is, that kangaroo would be so cool. It'd be extending the history from Nintendo's library before even video games. It'd be almost as cool as getting something from the Hanafuda card era.

I remember there was an old leak with "Master Hanafuda". He was like a cloaked figure, and I think he was meant to be Yamaguchi?

But that leak was really old...and looking back, it's definitely been debunked. Claimed Ike and Lucario would be cut. No XY Representation beyond a few PokeBalls. Genesect and Chrom would be playable.

It did correctly guess Little Mac would be the next newcomer in a Direct a month before he appeared, though.

Dude threw in a sketch of it as well.

So BMO, basically?

Also, I'd be so pissed if Raving Rabbids got in as Assist Trophies; if they ever decide to add a Pokeball/Assist Trophy toggle and they got in, I wouldn't even give them a chance to see what they'd do.

The other one looks ever more fake than Watch Da Birdie's, but I really like the idea of Mini-Kangaroo; it's still the most Surprise Character-y retro character I can think of
besides Popeye
.

I don't remember seeing that one. But seriously, that mini game series mascot would be such a left-field obscure ass inclusion that I just want it to be true if only for the creativity of the leaker lol. To dig up this 1970s Japan-only toy mascot. Absolutely fantastic. But it's also something I can imagine Sakurai doing. I love it. Have to give it to him. :D

Game Boy's Moveset I quickly did based on that rumor:

Series Icon is a miniature Game Boy icon.

Normal Moves

Game Boy summons different Game Boy sprites for most of his attacks. During which his face displays a screen from that game.

* Neutral: Play Action Football. Referee appears in front of GB and whacks foes by bending elbow and pointing.
* Dash Attack: Baseball. Baseball player appears in front of GB and does a slide into the foe.
* Forward Tilt: Golf. Golfer appears in front of GB and whacks the foe with golf club.
* Up Tilt: Solar Striker. Solar Striker ship appears above GB and fires small beams into the air.
* Down Tilt: Tetris. An L-Block appears before GB and drops down on foe.

* Up Smash: Game Boy shoots his cartridge out into the air. Face displays a glitched screen.
* Side Smash: Mole Mania. Muddy Mole sprite pops out in front of GB into air.
* Down Smash: Yakuman. GB slams a mahjong tile down in front of him.

* Neutral Aerial: Mario Picross. Picross Hammer appears before GB and hits nail into foe.
* Back Aerial: Balloon Kid. Alice appears behind GB and flies into foe.
* Forward Aerial: Tennis. Tennis player appears in front of GB and hits foe with racket.
* Up Aerial: Wave Race. Wave Racer appears above GB and shoots upward.
* Down Aerial: Radar Mission. GB launches a missile downward that blows up a ship sprite.

* Grab: GB throws the Link Cable.
* Pummel: X. Cursor from X appears over foe and shoots them.
* Forward Throw: For the Frog The Bells Toll. Prince Sable appears near foe, grabs them, and a "dust cloud" sprite appears as they're tossed away.
* Back Throw: Dr. Mario. Dr. Mario sprite grabs the foe in his hands and tosses them away.
* Up Throw: Alleyway. Paddle appears above GB and bounces foe into blocks that appear above.
* Down Throw: F-1 Race. F-1 Racer appears below GB, runs over the foe, and sends them flying away.

Special Moves

* Neutral Special: Game Boy Camera. GB Camera appears and flashes, stunning nearby foes.
* Side Special: Super Game Boy. GB summons the Super Game Boy which acts as a shield.
* Up Special: Link Cable. GB uses Link Cable like Spiderman to swing across the stage.
* Down Special: Battery Bomb. GB throws batteries which explode. Can pick them up later for health restore.

Final Smash

* Handheld Armada: GB summons the GB Color, Virtual Boy, Advance, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS which appear around him in a circle. They then turn outward and fire a high-powered laser that swirls around the screen.

Colors

* Default Off-White
* Cool Blue
* Gorgeous Green
* Radiant Red
* Vibrant Yellow
* High Tech Transparent

Taunts & Etc.

* The "Error Faces" from Game Boy Camera appear on GB's screen.
* One of the original Pokemon Sprites appears on screen accompanied by the Pokemon's growl.
* Smash Logo appears on screen and an 8-Bit rendition of the Smash Brothers 3DS/WiiU music plays.
* Entrance has a regular Game Boy on the ground. A game is inserted and it comes to life and grows arms and legs. Game Boy "boot up" jingle plays.
* His Win Theme is an 8-Bit rendition of Totaka's Song.

Both of these are the best leaks, they actually bring interestedly absurd characters in the mix.
Plus Snake is back in both.

I love fake leaks, but I hate the 'ESRB employee' leak because, afaik, ESRB employees don't usually get the actual game to review. The company supposedly sends them video footage of all of the applicable scenes in the game to be rated, as well as a list of what the game contains, no? If they lie to the ESRB they get fined, or something of the sort, right? Or maybe they get their rating revoked and then retailers don't stock the game. Either way, you don't want to lie to the ESRB, but afaik ESRB doesn't actually PLAY the games.

I know everyone totally believed that leak was true, and for so long too, but the dream is dead. We are free from the shackles of ESRBanon.

I'm sorry if I bumped up the picture but I can't emphasized enough how glorious this picture is. I'm very happy that he made it. :)

Are those the first 'sprite' projectiles we've seen so far? I feel like all other projectiles have been 3d models. Maybe not some 'energy' projectiles, but seeing sprites from takamaru feels a bit cheap compared to what we've seen.

The only other sprites I can think of are 'food' items. I'm sure 3DS has more, but that's understandable.

They don't look sprites to me but you forget Lakitu.

Those are totally sprites.

Sorry, let me clarify, I mean 'sprites representing a 3D object,' like those throwing knife things.

Lakitu is a sprite throwing sprites. Pac-man is intentionally throwing fruit sprites.

I never knew I wanted a playable gameboy... Welp here we are

I've known that since megaman was announced and my captain N dream roster got closer to coming true.

Lakiu's a bit different, though, isn't he? He was deliberately designed with old-school graphics. Takamaru, on the other hand, has a full 3D model, but his projectiles look totally flat, at least in this picture.

Takamaru himself still looks amazing, especially his hair.

This would be so much better than R.O.B.

One of his taunts could be changing his batteries.

Also thought of a Reveal Video. Shown in a Nintendo Direct.

Okay, the screen is bordered by the Game Boy border, like the camera is zoomed right on the screen. The Game Boy logo pops up, and various Game Boy game footage is shown...Mario Land, Donkey Kong 94, Metroid 2, Kirby's Dreamland, Pokemon, Wario Land, and Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters.

At this point, everyone watching the Direct thinks this is announcing a Game Boy Remix game akin to NES Remix.

Suddenly, the Smash Logo appears on the Game Boy. The camera zooms out as we see the Game Boy sitting on a desk, the same one from the original Smash 64 intro. A Pikachu, Kirby, and Wario doll (who all started their franchises on Game Boy) are also seen. Master Hand appears, and counts down...

Game Boy suddenly grows arms and legs as it pops to life!

GAME BOY TURNS ON!

An 8-Bit remix of the Smash Brothers 4 theme kicks in as we see Game Boy showing off his moves! Suddenly, in the midst of this, a Game and Watch portable falls down to the ground in front of Game Boy as Mr. Game and Watch jumps out.

diskun actually exists though as a mascot and shit

does gameboy man exist?

no, it's just a weirdass idea

next: wii u tablet man!

Game boy was anthropomorphised? in the captain N cartoon. Second of all the word 'boy' is in the name, but even ignoring that all of that (which you SHOULD), it's still nintendo's first portable console, and basically single-handedly paved the way for portable gaming.

Not saying it's the best idea, but if I wanted to turn ONE nintendo console into a playable character, it'd be the Game Boy.

Tonight's picture:

The Gameboy is an assist trophy! What a cool piece of Nintendo hardware with such history. What are you playing, I wonder? When Gameboy is summoned, he shoots carts at your opponents!
