Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XI: Where 90% correct equals 100% wrong

Should make the Flame Choke send purple shockwaves when he hits the ground for the aerial version. Would be cool and would make other players watch out for it.
 
I usually play Ness in 64, Marth in Melee, and Metaknight in Brawl. So I want to avoid all those. I started out maining Pika in 64, Roy in Melee, and Pit in Brawl. So I kinda want to avoid all those.

I'm thinking if Mewtwo or Shulk make it in, I'll want to play them if they're good. Of characters shown so far, ZSS looks strong. Robin looks like a cool character, but seems slow and ineffective from the trailers. I think Falcon will be bad still (based on almost nothing though). Mega Man's weird, but I may give him a shot.

I basically can't guess who I'll play without playing the game more first.
 
Happy to see the Daybreak. All these KI items are great.

I'm already set on using Falco for the the third time since Star Fox is my favorite series and he's my favorite character in it. As for secondaries, Palutena and Greninja are the two newcomers I'm most interested in. Luigi and Pit are the other two veterans I really like and will continue to use as well.

I will play everyone though and I really want to mess around with:

Captain Falcon
Ike

Robin might be a decent zoning character despite his speed. Some of hs projectiles look like they have ridiculous hitboxes.
 
It's far too early to say anything about mains definitively, but Robin and Little Mac look really interesting, and I'm hoping Marth, Ike, Samus and Ganondorf will be fun / not excessively weak or slow. I'll play Snake once in a while as well.

Non-gaming characters not included, and any that have not appeared on a Nintendo system aren't there either

lol, true enough! I always kinda enjoyed beating people with Bowser in Melee. I kinda liked Kirby too. Not winning with him, just taunting until I was dead.

It's too early to say for sure that he'll be bad or anything though. A few slow looking animations don't tell us much. His magic may be super strong for all I know.

Woo, my prayers have been answered! If this is anything like dragoon, it means a smash ball can not exist while it is in play. Anything that reduces the frequency of smash balls appearing (without disabling them entirely) is good news in my book!

Cool.

It's the kind of roster I always wanted for Smash 3 as a kid. Hopefully when I'm ~80 I'll check out the new roster and see something of similar proportion.
If only Nintendo wasn't going to be dead in two years Kappa

Amazing. It's only when you lay it out like that you realise just how broad the audience for this game is, and how many disparate properties it brings together.

That said...you left out Dracula and Gilgamesh.

Yep, it's our first new item ever since the press kit which basically listed almost all of the items. I wonder if we are going to get more new items after Day Break.

Non-video game characters weren't included. I had another 128 suggestions of non-gaming characters including those 3.

...I'll only count Glaceon at this point as a Pokemon. That makes it too easy to add more Pokemon.

Edit: And add Typhlosion. No good having only one gen 2 starter and have it not be the best one.

Out of curiosity, how would you count chars like Parakoopa or Paragoomba? Galoomba? Why no Majora? Agatio but no Saturos, Menardi? (Maybe as tag characters?)

Nicely done including Morshu though, even if he doesn't fit your critera :D
 
In Melee, I mostly play Marth, Sheik and Link. I don't own a N64 and I hate Brawl so I don't really have a main in the other games.

For Smash 4, I predict that my initial main will be Sheik, if only for the fact that she's going to feel the most familiar right off the bat. ZSS and Wii Fit Trainer also look promising in terms of combos and landing lag and whatnot. I doubt I'm going to like how Marth plays too much, but if it's true that Lucina plays more similarly to Melee Marth as some have speculated, I'll give her a go. I'm also keen to try Link as it seems like the poor guy has finally been buffed. And finally, I'll play Mii Swordfighter if I can make a convincing Dante.

Well while I was only joking about being upset, if one is going to present something as ridiculous as the ultimate roster based on the Internet it should technically include commonly made request, especially ones made commonly in this thread.

Also it's spelt Diskun.

Sakurai bias knows no bounds. Dark Pit is totally going to be a character. I wouldn't be surprised if we get Dark Pit, Medusa or Hades, and another Kirby rep.
