Gonna say something...not sure what to make of it.

Today I went to Gamestop, I went to ask and see if they knew what the Hyrule Warriors Exclusive store content was. No go, they dint know yet, but knew they were gonna get confirmation soon. Then I asked if Smash 4 3DS was gonna have some bundle or pre-order. He said yes, "a character"....character? He then fumbled with his words then took back the character remark. normally I would shrug this off but this guy usually knows about the game coming and has been working at GS for years, he seem worried that he told me that. He never would make a mistake like that I think. Again take this as a grain of salt, since I doubt Sakurai would pull of a exclusive character thing....maybe the GS guy meant exclusive amiibo?

So with all this Twitch business, you think this will effect the Competitive scene? Smash vids were pretty much the only ones that consistently play the stage music for games.

That would be my guess. I can't believe Nintendo would have an exclusive character as a preorder bonus; it's just too scummy (naive of me, I know.) An amiibo makes more sense for a preorder, and it's close enough to a character that I can well imagine a store employee getting tongue-tied and saying the wrong thing.

I have a question on just that topic, though: if you preorder a game before GS officially announces a preorder bonus, you still get the bonus, right? I haven't preordered a game there since Brawl, so I don't know GS handles preorders these days.

Even if that Zelda suicide counted as a Greninja kill, wouldn't we be tied and go to sudden death?

If someone can point out where I miscalculated I’d appreciate that.

I can't watch the video right now, but assuming your numbers are correct, you probably got screwed. They mentioned on stream that the 3DS version was known to glitch and award victory to the wrong person at the end screen. They had to go back and recount points a couple times when they felt the wrong person won. Your game was either too close for them to notice, or maybe they just weren't thinking of it because your match was early, but either way, that sucks.

Not all individual characters are featured here due to size constraints. For example, Marth represents Fire Emblem and Zero Suit Samus and Sheik are not included.

The background isn't that interesting, just a simple gradient and some blur. Could of course change it later, though the point is the character portraits of course.

I wasn’t really that mad. I didn’t feel like I was robbed of victory or anything. It was a free for all match, with items on, and some pretty terrible lag. ANYTHING can happen in a match like that. Anyone can win. Oh well.

Usually, depends on the game publisher if they go with it. I remember I pre ordered Blaze Blue: Calamity Trigger and they announced the Limited Edition, they automatically upgraded everyone's order to the Limited Edition with no additional cost.

Then there are some games which release multiple pre order bundles for one game. I would imagine they would stick you with the lowest price bundle until you change it.

I watched the video, and I agree, the ending doesn't make sense. I don't know how exactly this game judges whether something is a KO or an SD, but by my reckoning, Greninja KO'd Zelda in the end, which should have put the match into Sudden Death.

Oh well, Sakurai did warn us that the demo build wasn't perfect. I trust they'll have worked these issues out by the time the full game is released.

Such story telling Anth0ny! Sounds like quite the adventure for those impressions! I was only ever to play this game at Bay and Dundas and even that took a lot of effort for me to get from Woodbridge to Toronto lol

You know what? I'm calling both Toon Zelda and Pauline as Newcomers. I just saw that picture of the streetpass princesses puzzle in the Peach Month Thread and found it odd they included Pauline and two Zelda. So I'm now fairly aure they will both be newcomers. Just you watch.

I'm actually being serious. Why not include other characters like Palutena or Lucina? Two Zeldas, and a barely relevant character is odd. I see what your doing, Nintendo.

I'd like to imagine all these threads are being archived off site somewhere, and thousands of years in the future, some advanced civilization will find the raw data without having any of the links to what we're actually looking at. I can see the documentary now:

Well, Sakurai has broken my spirit. I'm not expecting a veteran anytime soon. I've learned to just be content with how lovely Xerneas looks.

Even if Yveltal is better, Xerneas still has the honorable distinction of No. 2 Best Legendary, which is no small feat. (FYI, Deoxys is No. 3, followed by Mewtwo, then a three-way tie between the Hoenn trio, and then runner-up is Ho-oh. This ranking is scientific fact -- you can see for yourself by checking the unbiased Neiteio Search Engine)

So yeah, Xerneas looks great. You know, his sickle-like legs kind of resemble boots. Sleek black stilettos with silver accents. Very stylish.

Let's be real, Sakurai won't let Tecmo one-up him with Ganondorf.

It's probably why he hasn't been revealed yet. He''s one of the characters with the most changes.

You need to do more of these, not only because I'm amused and high off of the Metroid Prime log discussion earlier but it'd be a cool way to sign this thread out. Moments to highlight should include the anguish over Ashley & Waluigi, the "Two Nights' Clairvoyance" (Takamaru and Paper Mario stage) and the Ike reveal.
