Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

"Marth and sonic have no ko moves. Marth killed Kirby with tipper f smash at 125% and sonic kills with up throw spring up throw at 100"

This does not bode well for Lucina...!

This is the second time the Smash community gave Samus the shaft. No wonder she ain't getting a proper sequel. Nobody cares! :'(

Falcon knee back to Melee sweetspot status confirmed? PRAISE THE SUN! (Meaning easier to sweetspot and it's strong again)

YES.png

The knee being easier to sweetspot sorta makes up for the increased landing lag on it. I think they want it to be more of a kill move than combo move in this game.

The reason knee could combo in Melee was primarily because of the momentum being retained from his dash/run when he jumps -- it allowed him to get out there before hitstun for the knee ended. More landing lag on it only makes it riskier on-stage, off-stage it could be really good again ala Melee (except without momentum retained from his dash it might not be used in the same situations as Melee for the edgeguards).

Do we even have confirmation that Ganondorf is his favorite character aside from that one variety show clip?

Regardless, I'm p. dang tired of this "oh we should cut characters because they don't function like their source material" thing.

What's the point of having a character in Smash if they act nothing like they do in their games?

Ganondorf is the only character who's moveset needs to be completely scrapped and redone. Falcondorf is seriously a slap in the face to one of Nintendo's most iconic villains

More likely scenario: Falcondorf's moveset will be incorporated into Ganondorf's attacks in an actual future Zelda game, thereby canonizing it once and for all. ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)

To be fair, he never even said Ganondorf was his favorite; he just happened to pick him.

Might as well throw out Captain Falcon and a bunch of other characters currently in the game out. It's good to reference the source material in these sorts of cross-over games but when you become too literal with "sticking to the source material" you can easily end up with a lot of shitty, poorly-designed fighting game characters

More impressions:

pikachu a up b is quicker for whatever reason, side b charges a bit faster, down b is harder to spam and neutral b is a lot faster

your waifu palutena is a godess in uprising and smash 4. Her up throw goes into up air up air and back air amazingly.

Wolf color clarification:

for all the people confused about fox having a wolf alt it's just fox with wolfs colors, not a full alt.

Again, how are they comparable to characters who actually have moves that can be taken from their games?

Falcon could drive a car, that'd be really unique. Same with Fox and Falco with arwings. Rob could have a moveset based on stacking things.
Point is, they don't, because Sakurai couldn't think of a fun, creative moveset that did, but he still wanted characters in the game. The same goes for Ganondorf. He probably couldn't think of a really fun, unique sword or magic moveset for Ganondorf, but thought enough people enjoyed heavy falcon and that Ganondorf was a good choice for that type of moveset.

I mean, look at Ridley. Ridley's not in and has been fan requested, and Sakurai's basically said that's because they couldn't think of a good way to do it.

Short Samus impressions from the stream chat:

Samus is great at spacing and better at killing
It's just a bit faster to start up the charge is the same

The last line is talking about Samus' charge shot.
