It should've been his Hyrule Warriors look, I know.
I had the same struggle. But at least the guy on the phone was able to tell me that directly last weekend, instead of stringing me along. I wish I had complained at him all angrily, but I'm sure the support 'specialists' are getting plenty of that as is. I did at least take the opportunity to complain about that policy in the support satisfaction survey.Just got this in my email today after calling last Friday. For a second I thought they decided to hook me up with some smash codes.
Hello,
Regarding the special Club Nintendo demo of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, to have been eligible you had to have opted in to receive promotional emails from Nintendo before the announcement was made on Friday, September 12th. Opting in afterward will not make you eligible.
I know this isnt what you were hoping for, but Im happy to report that the demo will be made available to the general public on September 19th in the Nintendo eShop. The full game will be made available there on October 3rd.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.
What a stupid reason to not be eligible. Not like it matters though, a gaffer hooked me up with a code.
What adds up exactly? That explains the lack of villains... l
Edit:
I'm starting to believe this WiiU-3DS connectivity thing, a lot of stuff makes sense and just adds up.
Seems like Ridley, Dixie, Mew2, and Chorus Kids/ Marshall may have a chance after all.
What adds up exactly?
I don't see how getting mad at Nintendo makes sense when people chose (in most cases) to opt out of their promo emails.
Well "Exclusive demo access to the biggest 3DS game of the year" isn't what promo Emails usually contain. Opting out of promo Emails is in my experience what everyone who doesn't want a shithole of an Email account does >.>
You say that like it's not a horrible, life altering consequence. :\And waiting one week to be able to play said demo isn't that horrible of a consequence for not opting in.

I was afraid to watch that video, but I think that guy might have made the least annoying Smash Bros conspiracy theory video I've ever seen. He should give tips to the Ridley guy with the plateau hair. Not trying to start a discussion here (I'm bad at those), so I'll just make a list:
- The 3DS' ability to connect to the WiiU in general
- That "997" MB of left-over space
- The character roster's odd shape
This video will probably explain it better than me.

Interesting that how Sakurai quoted, means that IC is likely to get a new game?First, regarding the roster, Sakurai mentioned that even though many characters are included, there are some who worry about those who didn’t make the cut. He specifically addresses the absence of the Ice Climbers as well. It seems they were running in the Wii U version, but due to the required hardware power, the team couldn’t make them work in the 3DS game. There wasn’t as high a priority given to series that are unlikely to have another installment at this time.
Man, I really wish Famitsu published an English version over here. I'd love to read Sakurai's column every time.Interesting that how Sakurai quoted, means that IC is likely to get a new game?

I think you're reading that last line a little wrong; he's not prioritizing them, because they're unlikely to get a new game at this time.

Yep, this is why I said the 3DS version was a bad idea. Cramped hands/broken sticks, IC dropped, Wii U version delayed, models likely downgraded to have some semblance of platform parity, less reason to purchase a Wii U... all for the ability to play Smash Brothers on a handheld. Sure they will probably sell more copies of Smash Brothers this way, but it could have pushed more Wii U hardware, allowing for more overall Nintendo software sales. I just don't think it was a good idea at all.

*snickers*
don't think so, Nintendo makes more money this way
Fuck the 3DS version
That's why we need the Chorus Kids in.My biggest complaint about the current character select screen is that it lacks any kind of harmony.
I don't think you can choose your win pose anymore, or at least not in the demo.
I get more emails from Twitch in a day than what Nintendo has sent me this year. They're pretty good with not flooding my inbox.
Heres what I mean:
- The top half of the select screen started in the 80s, and the bottom half started in the 90s/00s. The only exception is the Yoshi and Wario series, but they sort of need to be with the Mario characters.
- The DK characters fall under their Mario counterparts the protagonists are together, and so are the male/female sidekicks.
- Theres a sort of R&D1 bracket consisting of Dr. Mario, Wario, G&W, R.O.B., and Duck Hunt.
- The Metroid and Kid Icarus sister series are together.
- Pit is under Link (bow-wielding heroes), and Palutena is under Zelda (titular mages).
- Palutena and Kirby are the centermost characters. Kirby has a history of being in the middle of Smash Bros. select screens.
- Fox is under Duck Hunt. This isnt very significant, but theyre both canines. You could even extend this link since Falco is a bird.
- All of the RPG series (Fire Emblem, Pokémon, Mother, Xenoblade) are touching.
- The psychic characters are together Mewtwo and Ness.
- Captain Falcon is below Fox they share a universe.

Nintendo still sends you emails for your orders and such from CN when you're opted out. Legitimate promotions shouldn't be blocked from the spam mail opt out.
But that's only if customer's best interest is in mind. Of course it isn't, Nintendo is a company trying to make money. And apparently sending ads in junk mail makes money. They now have me subscribed to junk mail for the rest of eternity. At least Gmail is pretty good about sorting it out these days.
he loses a stock if he KO's somebodyYes! The "Wii" series is missing four reps! It's time for WiiMote Safety Man to swing in!

So, do we have a WiiU release date?
Pretty much, he didn't want to screw over people who owned one system but not the other.God damn it! They worked on the Wii U version, so why cut them? Just to keep the rosters equal?
I won't lie... Trying to keep the rosters the same between both version was, and has proven to be, a terrible idea. Intentionally cutting one character that worked on one game because they didn't work on another just to adhere to some arbitrary principle is so... Ugh.God damn it! Funny, considering that many agreed with the idea of keeping the roster the same not too long ago.I won't lie... I didn't mind it because I thought the idea that the 3DS version would be responsible for characters being removed was silly. That's not true now.Funny, considering that many agreed with the idea of keeping the roster the same not too long ago.

So the Ice Climbers really were dropped because of the 3DS after all. They really should have been left in the Wii U version. :/

Wait, since when? I thought most people opposed roster disparity. It'd be hard to ask now thanks to hindsight, but I thought people were immediately aware by the way Sakurai worded it that it meant cut characters that were 100% functional on the superior system just to match the weaker, portable one.
