Agreed. I turned the 3D off for the (almost) silky smooth 60fps as I thought the performance would improve the game. Single player stays at 60fps but online is only 30fps. Bummer. I've decided to keep the 3D on all the time now as the performance doesn't really improve with 3D off and lower frame rate doesn't seem to affect the gameplay - 1 frame links seem to time exactly the same with 3D set to both on and off (via the option menu and not the slider).Me_Marcadet said:It's not perfect because of 30fps online play. I think many times both me and VOOK said pre-release that it was most definitely NOT. >_> Guess no one listened.

What we didn't knew was that when you play online, even if you desactivate the 3d, the game runs at 30fps.
Someone needs to test the framerate in local play.

T'as vraiment pas changé marcassinMe_Marcadet said:Well if there weren't 'those guys' who keep telling the game is a perfect port, I would keep my mouth shut.
We need to inform people as much as possible. There was a lot of misinformation about SSF4 3d with people telling it was 60 fps in 3d when clearly it wasn't.
Maybe for some framerate isn't important but it could be a deal breaker for other and we need to be the more accurate possible.
That would be hardcore. I wouldn't do it for example.boris feinbrand said:So would you suggest to play the game in 30 fps in general cause It would be beneficial for timing when playing online then?
Dat trolling.K701 said:Not to derail the thread but now that SSF43D is out Ono hinted Capcom would officially announce a PC version. Also if SSF4 is coming to PC then MVC3 can't be far behind because of MT framework

Reminds me of that idiot from IGN who played MGS4 at Konami's mountain lair at the special press event ahead of release and said that it ran at 60FPS.wackojackosnose said:Agreed. I still cannot believe all the reports stating that it was 60fps during 3D mode though. GET NEW EYES PEOPLE!!!
I suppose Capcom did changes to the game so it plays OK at 30fps, because the PC version becomes an unplayable mess whenever frameskipping kicks in. It's possible that the gameplay code runs at 60fps under the hood: MT framework' specialty is asynchronous multithreading anyway (which means a PC port would be glorious, but we all know Ono is trolling).MoxManiac said:MvC3 would be amazing on PC. Moveswap hacking for the win. I would swap everyone's animation set with Shuma-Gorath.
Is SSF4 online seriously 30fps? Does it at least read inputs at 60fps?
Which tweet is it?K701 said:Not to derail the thread but now that SSF43D is out Ono hinted Capcom would officially announce a PC version. Also if SSF4 is coming to PC then MVC3 can't be far behind because of MT framework

tass0 said:It's true, unfortunately.
It's quite disappointing, but I learned to live with it, I'm really enjoying the game so far.
It's actually more like 20-25 FPS.
no, its not. its solid 30 fps for the most part, with little dips (maybe to 27 or 25) that only happen to me when i play online in 3d.tass0 said:It's actually more like 20-25 FPS.
That's encouraging to hear. Thanks for the impressions. I presume connection will vary, but as long as both players are relatively close the game will still be quite playable despite the frame rate halving.Lyte Edge said:OK, got my system and immediately tried SSF4 online.
Match number one was incredibly laggy. We didn't even get to finish the match before it disconnected. But even then, I was able to get moves off.
The second match I tried was perfect...no noticeable lag. The game going at 30fps was instantly-noticeable, but I found that it was not a problem and I was still able to pull everything off I would normally do on the console versions.
So while it going at 30fps online is still a disappointment, I can definitely deal with it.
