My only worry, as many have worried about before, is that they are overloading this movie with too much content and thus the character writing might suffer a bit.

Otherwise I think it looks like it will be a fun watch.

Of course modern holywood had to give Louis her own action scene.
She can fly an alien ship it seems......uggghhh

She's the daughter of a general and she has flown helicopters in the comics.

But you're right, they should have let Jimmy Olsen or old man Pa Kent pilot it instead.

Lois has been around for what, 80 or 90 years? OF COURSE she has done damned near everything in the comics. But that doesn't really mean her character should have all these things compressed into a single film. There is a delicate balance in these types of things that has been thrown waaaay out of whack lately by virtually eliminating the "damsel in distress" aspect to these stories that was a critical component to making them work (IMHO). Hopefully they at least keep the idea that Lois is brash and headstrong and borderline an adrenaline junkie which is why she keeps getting into situations where Supes has to bail her out. But if she is gifted across the board in every area and can always rescue herself, then what role does he play?

Anyway, it is certainly possible to be both a Pulitzer prize winning reporter AND a skilled pilot, so those two things in conjunction shouldn't be character breaking.

or....hear me out now. How about.... an "actual pilot". Man or woman.

You have no idea how dumb the "they did it in the comics" defense sounds when uttered in defense of a live-action adaption.

I just cant get excited for this. Looks too goofy.

It looks like it doesn't know what sort of tone to stick to. Some it it looks serious, but then we have Krypto the superdog.

I've always hated Krypto. A super powered dog with a cape is far too goofy for my liking.

The film also looks too busy from the trailer. A Kaiju, what looks like a giant mech, Ultraman (or many ultramen?) Lex, Super buddies like Green Lantern and Mister Terrific.........A lot going on in this film.

I'll still see it (In IMAX of course), but my expectations are set on the lower end.

This trailer is the best one yet. It's still too busy though. I don't like how many supers there are. I also hate Krypto I've never liked a super pet but oh well. I hope the movie turns out OK but I won't hold my breath.

You're seeing a dog fly through the air and knock the shit out of some flying bad guy, but your suspension of disbelief comes from a reporter flying a vehicle?

You are aware people are capable of learning more beyond their primary career, right?

And what do you mean "an actual pilot"? The only people with her in those shots are Jimmy and Perry if I'm seeing correctly, and you have zero context for how the three got there. For all you know, they need to fly it now and there is no one else there to pilot it, and like I said, Lois is the most logical of the three to have some level of piloting skills. You also don't know if the ship has a computer that can aid her in piloting it. Instead, for no reason, you seem to know for certain they had swift access to a full time pilot and no time limit to force them to have Lois pilot it.

Like, come on. This is basic media literacy when it comes to trailers. Maybe learn not to make assumptions before you shit on someone purely for pointing out Lois flying a vehicle is not something new for her character.

I didnt shit on you. I am saying" it happened in the comic" isnt as persuavsive as you may think. Im not a DC fan and didnt spend much time examining the frame but I am still award of theanti (damsel in distress) policy that has swept Hollywood.

I should of used a different word other than "dumb". Although I didnt direct it at you and only at the arguement, it is still an escalation word. I shouldnt have typed in such haste.

Storytelling progresses. Not every main non-hero female character needs to be forced into that role all the time, hell, Spider-man 3 (the Tobey Maguire era) was widely criticized when it had MJ get kidnapped AGAIN for the third movie in a row especially as it did nothing substantial with it (Zendaya's MJ needing saving in No Way Home had purpose as it allowed Andrew Garfield's Spider-man to feel better about himself after saving her given he still carried guilt for not saving Gwen after all that time).

And this film has shown no evidence it's going to put all the women on some pedestal above the men or something or whatever it is people on the other side worry about. Of the teasers and trailers so far, we have Krypto getting a strong hit against the Engineer (the woman with the spinning blade hands who assists Lex) and Superman piledriving(?) her (my apologies if it was a different move, I'm not really a wrestling fan), and we've seen more action from Mr. Terrific and Guy Gardener compared to Hawkgirl so far.

And besides, the very first teaser, once the action truly begins after the Superman in pain in the snow and then a few establishing shots of the characters in the Daily Planet and the Kent farm, has Superman save a girl from flying debris. To me, that sells Superman's heart so much more, he doesn't care about just saving those he knows and has an established connection to, he cares about saving everyone that he possibly can.

Edit: I know James Gunn will nail this element as there was a mild set leak that showed a scene of Superman and the Justice Gang heroes landing in front of people. A bunch of kids run past the other heroes and straight to Superman, wanting to talk to him and hug him and such. Great stuff.

Good to see the girl from last of us still no flash, Batman, aquaman or Wonder Woman? If there's a sequel they could potentially include those characters

Zack Snyder made a whole generation believe that Superman was a dark, gritty character when the truth is the complete opposite. This is the most comic book Superman movie i have seen based in trailers. What is yet to see is if the movie comes together good enough to make all characters justice. Looking forward to it.

I really liked his take but I also really like the universe Gunn is making. It's VERY comic book accurate (in spirit)
