I watched the series finale and ehhhh it could probably have ended on the episode before. Covid clearly impacted the writing and the cast who could make it which was very few.

It has been a great ride though, what’d GAF think?

The last four years were so bad, and canon-destroying, I want to take up fan-fiction for the first time in my life, and write a proper replacement, just for me. Lol.

But the rest was wonderful, with some ups and downs. I consider it to have ended in 2016.

Probably my favorite TV show ever. The most epic, funny, emotionally moving, awesome, amazing ride ever, with characters I came to love so much, they kind of feel real to me, in a weird way, making it hard to say goodbye.

5000 years ago, I remember checking this out for the first time, and thinking this ‘B-show’ about professional supernatural-hunting brothers was kind of neat, and a good enough, reluctant way to pass the time on a boring day that I weirdly still remember. I never thought it would grow into what it did, or that I would come to love it so much.

I think once people forget about the last four years, this will go down as a genre show legend.

I've met two people now who were megafans of this show, both upper middle aged Australian women.. though i don't think that has much to do with it.. I've asked both what's so great and it, and neither has really explained it. Anyway one of them flies to the states every year to go to a festival in Arizona or something, and has 9/10ths of her wall space devoted to selfies with them and such.. must be some kinda show~

I stopped watching after the Amara/Darkness arch. I’ve thought about picking it back up though. But yeah hell of a ride for a great show with its ups and downs.

Been there from the start.

But boy am I finding this season a slog. At episode 12. Does it get better? I'm tempted to jump to last two.

I stopped around season 7 or 8, until season 5 it was basically my favourite serial.

I'm kinda story committed to this since I made it to Season 13 but Season 5 was where this show should have ended. The hordes of fan girls and fanfiction writers it attracted just kept it going.

My main problem was they never really expanded the world much.

Still relies on too much filler.
I’d love to see a rereleased version without the filler. Bring each season down to 10 or so episodes. You can ignore the last episode too.

Up to (and including) Season 5 it was one of my favorite shows. Fun story, great characters, good mix of action, creepy stuff and humor.
Lost interested over the next few seasons though, the story just wasn't as good anymore, felt like they started recycling and a lot of plot threads and ideas and overall it just had this feeling of a show that should have ended on a high note but instead went on because of popularity.

I never went back to it and from what I've read it doesn't sound like I missed much. But, still an impressive run and the couple of people I know that still watch said the finale was actually ok.

Did any of the future "silly chapter of season" manage to top Changing Channels? The CSI miami part still cracks me up:

It's spot on.

I watched it all, but only really care about Season 1 through 5 and consider the rest as some kind of "what if" extra stuff. There were some good episodes her and there in the post-kripke era though.

For the wife and I, its been kinda our thing as it first aired not long after we married. Before we had kids. First 5 seasons were strong tv, the rest? Not so much. But like I said, its been our thing.

Been there for every episode, every step of the way. And have enjoyed it, and well, it got a little teary last night watching the ending.

Maybe its because we feel like we know the boys. Maybe its because it was part of the backdrop for the last 15 years of our lives. Maybe because we saw the boys grow up, whilst my wife and I also grew in our marriage.

I don't know, but whatever it was, it was good. And good is something there's not enough of in this world.

Very happy that Sam and Dean got their happy ending. Nice to see it end on their terms.

Been watching for last 15 years, it's probably the most consistent series I've ever watched, probably the best TV show in the last 15 years too, Yes I said BEST.
but that dat ending, very poor, and very disappointing.
And I actually thought it would survive to the end without pandering, but they did it right at the end.
If you haven't watched the last 3 episodes, do yourself a favour and end it there.
If you need a end, end it at episode 19
Which ironically does actually work, but beware of pandering
Still relies on too much fille

Glad I ain't the only one

I watched up until the alphas season and just lost interest after the premiere. I watched a little of the penultimate episode of this season and it was really bad, editing and writing were so bad. I read spoilers for the finale and am glad I wasn't invested in the show...

If if you mean consistently garbage for the past 10 years then sure you can consider it that way
You're entitled to your opinion, but I knew what I was getting each week with Sam, Dean and Cas.
Yes they was guilty of filler episodes, but it was still good ol' Supernatural and was the same show it was when it started
Unlike every other piece of shit show that nosedived after season 1.
The only other so far is that's reminds good is Cobra ki.

I'm sad too see the show go, Supernatural had better and worse seasons, but it never dipped below a certain level and I probably won't invest so much time in following any other show in my life. The last two episodes of the final season were superb. The God story arc ended on a satisfying note and the finale itself reminded me of the Six Feet Under's one. Really nice to see the show end this way. I can understand that some people will hate the actual finale and I had the same attitude for a part of the episode, but all in all they ended in a very good way imo. It's only a shame they couldn't bring back more actors for the series finale.

Some people just accept mediocrity. No that's the square you wanted. First five season we're awesome but if you want to see how far is fallen since then then look no further then the dean Lucifer wire fight

I remember watching this show back when it first came out as my sister really liked it for some reason. I've probably only seen the first season but had no idea that it was still going on all these years later.

Like I said you're entitled to your opinion, you may name another show that you believe is better.
Chances are because I think anything made after 2010 is a crap, I may have a similar opinion on that, or worse
But it's just an opinion, not fact.
It is guilty of convenience plotting.
It always annoyed me that Castiel was handicapped for the majority of the show.

If I were to name another show to be better then the last 10 seasons of SPN that would be the boys just a better written show with a better budget then Supernatural. And you complaint about Castiel has to do with writing being terrible. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the show though. But we got to be honest at least about this show having its problems and dragging on too long

The Boys
I actually stopped watching after 3 episodes.
I'll have to get back to it now SPN is over if you believe it's that good.
