Supernatural Season 11 |OT| No, seriously, it got awesome again.

I really liked the finale. The resolution was much different than what we're used to getting. I'd put S11 behind 5 and 4 overall and it gave us arguably the best Supernatural episode ever.

I hope you are referring to Baby for the best episode ever.

While I don't know if I would rank it there myself, I can't fault any reasoning for putting it at #1 either.

I was hoping God/Amara would end like this. It seemed like the safest and cleanest direction they could have gone while still being emotional and satisfying.

Calling it now -- he's back too. Reveal at the end of S11

And I thought they did a good setup for next season. No major, world ending threat. It felt more low key with the introduction of mom again, and that there are other chapters of the Men of Letters. And the implication that there is some main council overseeing the entire thing and they aren't happy with the Winchesters.

I wonder if Lucifer is dead, she might have locked him away or sent him to another dimension or something.

I love that "I didn't know dogs ate breakfast"
"Cas is back..."

Sam with his obliviousness to why the antagonist is doing something strikes again
First "A demon summoning spell? But why?"
and now
Sam: "It looks like the sun is-
Cas: "Dying."
Sam: "Why would Amara do that?"
Gee, unno, maybe because she's The Darkness and light is opposite of Dark so she wants to destroy it!
Cas and Deans heartfelt moment though, so sweet, and him saying he's like a brother :D! TAKE THAT SHIPPERS, BROTHERZONED! Had to be done.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! GOHST MOM!

But once Amara said she wanted to give Dean what he wanted most, I was hoping it would be his mom. You can so tell that Dean is a mommas boy lol.

NEXT SEASON NOW!!!

So their mom is back and the men of letters still exist and are pissed at the boys for dealing with the shit they were too pussy to.

This is going to be an interesting plot line because it's basically that government hunters plot idea that people keep throwing around only with a twist.

So it's probably a long shot, but what if Amara's "giving Dean what he wanted" was actually peace? Maybe, once God pulled the souls out of Dean, he ended up dying anyway, albeit without the massive explosion. Dean didn't know it, of course, questioning why/how he suddenly ended up in a wooded area, with his dead mother calling for "help" nearby. As for Sam, maybe the Men...er...Woman of Letters really did end up shooting him, and the entirety of next season will be him and Dean thinking everything is okay as usual, tying up any loose ends they have/making peace with it all before the Reaper ends up claiming their souls at the end of the season, forcing the brothers to move on (and effectively ending the show). The Reaper's comment about Dean seeing her real soon, could possibly have been a hint?

I don't know, the finale seemed strange to me, something definitely different than what I'm used to. I didn't dislike it at all (I enjoyed it), just not what I expected.

Loved the fact the talked it through. Great finale. Really great finale. For some reason, I still always remember this finale. The Angels are falling.

That'd be pretty funny. Imagine an entire Men of Letters version of the UN just getting together to call the boys a couple of dicks.

Then shit will go down and they'll have to beg the boys and cas for help.

Have a feeling that they are gonna get smacked for being butt buddies with Crowley.

pretty much. hard to care what they think when theyve been absolutely fucking useless all this time.

Granted, we don't exactly know what kind of crazy bullshit they have been dealing with. I mean, it isn't going to be anything like God or anything, but they may have been dealing with some next level shit.

But not likely.

So probably things like werewolves in London?

Funny how they only mobilize after the threat is neutralized. It makes me think the bunker has been bugged the entire time.

Mystic wiretapping in all MoL bunkers. All this time the other chapters have been listening to the weird porn that Dean watches.

The Men of Letters would have known all of the wardings and bunkers in existence.

I think they meant because the Reaper being able to find it and get in.

Didn't Dean get teleported there? That's probably why he didn't know where he was. Is God going to make Sam & Dean some sort of Guardian Angels? Him telling Dean that He & Sam are gonna protect Earth is very odd...

Season 8 is still one of the best finales of the series. Probably the most striking imagery of any of the finales.
Angels...they're falling. Freaking fantastic finale. Omg I was re-watching the last 5 minutes of the finale...Same saying he confessed for all the times he let Dean down and then they're emotional speech between each other...my heart...pls...

since the bros have found out about being men of letters, theyve dealt with an enemy to all men of letters, a rogue men of letters, an angel uprising, cain, and the darkness. there better have been some major shit going on outside of the darkness

If you guys are expecting them to top god then it's likely not going to happen. The next stories will likely be more personal.

There is a lot they can do with the Men of Letters. They might not be able to top "god power" but I don't think that means that it can't be any good.

I imagine that the first part of the season will be the Men of Letters hunting Sam and Dean and then eventually they will join forces to go after a bigger threat of some sort.

I'm excited at any rate. The show has been a lot of fun and I see no reason that 12 will be any different.

I'm interested in the Men of Letters, but I didn't like that it seemed like they were setting them up as antagonists, pretty much any human enemy is going to seem like nothing after all the shit they've felt with. Also, I feel like they probably could have teleported Dean back to the others before they left, instead of letting him get his own ride back.

Season 12: Men & Women of Letters hunt The Winchesters of Letters. Before they're about to kill em, Abadon comes back from the dead!
Unno how, probably some time travel bullshit like the first time.
Without the Mark of Cain, how will the the Winchesters defeat her again?! Cue in Men & Women of Letters uniting with the Winchesters since they killed her before.

Decent finale. Way more subdued finale than it usually is. And nice for the men of letters to get off their asses finally, after all this time and much fuckery. I'm definitely interested in seeing this other secret branch and what their deal is.

Yay for momma Winchester but sucks that John is still missing. Couldn't God and Amara have also raised Bobby, Rufus, and the gang while they were at it? And where did Amara send Lucifer? They talked about him as if he weren't dead, so he has to be somewhere in the wind.

But yeah, great season overall. Easily a top 5 and challenging for a top 3 spot. That is pretty impressive for such a long running show. New showrunner next season so we'll see how that goes I guess.

As much as I love Bobby and Rufus, I don't think they should bring em back. Flashbacks of em, them in Heaven, etc are all fine. But let them have their peace already :p.

Maybe the same place Metatron is, what if The Darkness could send people to The Void? Maybe Season 12 has Sam dying and getting thrown into The Void, and Dean tries to find out how to summon The Darkness to get Sammy back?

We definitely need John back, we got young John Winchester, now we need older John Winchester so we can see the proud look in his eyes, followed by the look of absolute horror at what his kids have done. Apocalypse, Leviathans, Angels kicked outta Heaven, letting his dad die to Abadon, etc.

This was a great season. Even the worst parts were still decent popcorn fodder. And it was nice to have a villain that redeemed herself and didn't have to die, for a change .

Isn't Jeffrey Dean Morgan too busy now with Walking Dead? I don't expect John Winchester to come back to life (unless they use the younger version of him). I'd love for him to be back on the show, though, even just as a ghost.

I love this theory. I hope you're right.

I think Dean and Sam have built up such a reputation in the world of monsters over the years that, the only real way they'd ever find peace... is through death, sadly.

Great season, and honestly far better than anyone had a right to expect for a genre show in its 11th year.

The end of the season was incredibly disappointing... it all fell down since god appeared.
Too bad because the rest of the season was great.

As for the other MoL not helping: How do you know they weren't containing all the crap that indirectly arose as a result of the Winchesters actions?

Also, unlike the Winchesters they weren't protected or assisted by Gods (and THE God in many occasions), angels, and the occasional demon.

But really the writers likely didn't think them up until after the fact.

The last couple of mythology episodes felt kind of ... rushed, maybe? The finale included.

I would liked those episodes to have been stretched out, and maybe introduce the MoL story arc before the last episode. It was kind of jarring ... or: just have the lady there to "arrest" Sam at the end with no set up at all.

I don't know. Not the worst finale, but not the best. The Amara/Chuck resolution was kind of there ... seemed like they didn't know what to do with it.

The Angels were self contained. Mostly fighting amongst themselves. The stuff with Dean was only in the US. The darkness and maybe Abaddon were things that they could have been dealing with. And if they were trying to fight Abaddon they were totally fucking up

Didn't she say the Men of Letters London Chapter keeps to their studies? They probably never intervened because they simply aren't meant to do so. Maybe a bit like the Foundation in the Isaac Amisov series. The first foundation = the AMerican Men of Letters are there to be out in the open and act while the second Foundation = the London Chapter manipulates to help the first.

All Men of Letters are suppose to keep to their studies. It's why they look down on hunters who actually do shit.

That was a great finale, a lot slower paced and more intimate than I thought it would. It was nice that Amara is still around. The change of heart was a great way to bring the arc to an end, Amara never really came across as completely evil, just more angry and lashing out than anything else. Actress who played her did an amazing job conveying the conflict she felt.

Also nice to see the MoL finally show up. Can't wait to see what's in store with them next season. Seems they might not be the 'good guys' we were led to believe?

MAMA WINCHESTER!!!
