Wait a minute, how much is that machine expected to cost?
Imagine playing games like RDR 2 at 4K at 60 fps!!!!!!
The amount of memory tends to be higher on dev kits.I'm only surprised at the memory, the rest is in line with what's out there plus personal guess.
As for the games that's not news either because of everything that got delayed/pushed back to 2019, that was a hint to me.
If the raw performance is 12-6TF+ then I'll be ecstatic, because I seriously want a fucking true 4K/60 native console/machine.
And considering that PlayStation carried the weight after the PS3 mess and pretty much saved Sony as a whole they owe this division some love.
That's 0.234ct per day x 7 years (duration of the generation and PS+ wasn't required), nope console gamers aren't cheapskates.$599? You can never go wrong with that price, right PS3?
Never heard of that member at B3D and without confirmation from mods I would not believe it. The specs are safe if not optimistic guesses based on known technology.
Are people asking for credibility in a rumor/leak thread?.....I mean, how does that work, does the leaker have to reveal his sources? .
Sure it is, slipped my mind I suppose.Switch. Unless that's not a console in your view.
PS2 in Japan too.
The funny thing about that is, that it would free up a lot of space on the board, emit less heath, which in turn might save on cooling and make for a smaller form factor.20 GB = 16 GB GDDR + 4 GB DDR
Bada bing, bada boom.
Bite your tounge. The difference in 1gb ram can literally mean 30% increase in resolution for devs. Any mb of ram is meaningful in game development on fixed hardware.
Legit I believed it would be 4gb too until crytec was the first devs to adamantly say 8 gb or death publically.
What I don't get is why are they not assisting to the E3 with that megaton?
Provide first-look to the ones actually buying it and line-up, yada yada it could work.PS4 was announced at a PlayStation event and E3 would be too far from launch to get things like the launch lineup confirmed.
PSX would be the better event for all those exact details to surface.
Well, I'm not sure we are going to get spec leaks from anyone who absolutely knows, like Yoshida and Cerny.....It would be grapevine stuff for the most part and know one who knows is going to speak it and put his credentials out, that's just asking for trouble.......He simply presents a B3D mod with some evidence or credentials while hiding his identity. Are we going to make a new thread here for everyone that invents specs and pretends to be an insider?

It was multiple third party devs requesting it and word that Microsoft was going 6-8 gb but slow DDR3. But mark Cerny personally made the survey for devs to fill out.It probably was a little more to it than just that. Come on man! lol
I'll be interested to see if he can actually back up the claims. If he can and is verified this is pretty huge."This data are 100% correct and about the lastet dev-kits sony has sent to devs, i've a trustworthy friend in the industry who've access to PS5 dev-kit and of course i can prove it"

So anyone writing a plausible (as in, not totally devoid of BS, just enough to make it BS anyway) spec sheet is thread worthy? Are you daft or something? It is a speculative thread just like every other rumor based speculative thread from seemingly random person on the internet.
So because Random B3D user with low posts proved right in hindsight, this is somehow equally threadworthy, in foresight? The point which was clearly pointed out in the OP was that the Wii U leak which also came from BY3D also happened randomly from someone with very few posts history without any credibility but it turned out they were right.
Then perhaps onQ123 shouldn't grasp every paper example of a straw and run with it. Mind you i also asked valid questions in that same comment but you nor him did address that. From the OP that is to be expected since i am a glitch but instead of addressing the what in my eyes are valid points aside the harsh tones, OP rather makes a drive-by comment.
Exactly. Since when is random user with no crediblity but historically it happened once before on this site with someone else and it was right a valid argument?Wait, so every silly post on b3d is thread worthy now because "you never know"? Sorry but a thread should at least have something substantial besides where it's posted. Otherwise it could fit into a general speculation thread and even then people would not believe it because lack of credibility.
Ehm, you made this thread. So who is looking for attention now?Been following me around for over a month mouthing off when he don't even exist to me that's why I never reply to him but he continue talking to himself looking for attention.
If that's the level of standard you want from a technical thread and all that is required is a random guy making up specs than you can write a dozen threads with the same outcome, or make a general thread where you can post all these random guys in one thread.Every silly post on the internet is thread worthy, this is a discussion forum, you don't like a thread, simply move past it.
You don't even need to click it. Heck what's his face posted polls upon polls of random thoughts that popped into his head and of course they weren't necessarily thread worthy but still it is allowed.
2.5 Senzu Beans. Or Future Bulma post-pregnancy.How powerful is this in dragon ball terms?
No, but speculation from verified people or people known for their accurate leaks is a far better basis than random people making random speculations simply because the site that hosted it once had someone else making a prediction and it proved to be true. Are people asking for credibility in a rumor/leak thread?.....I mean, how does that work, does the leaker have to reveal his sources? Does everything he leaked before need to be true? It's rumor and leak season......People want to speculate, let them.....
Exactly. If the level of standard is everyone then we can just make 1000 threads and discuss the same point over and over. We already have two users who do just that on a regular basis anyway and its tedious. He simply presents a B3D mod with some evidence or credentials while hiding his identity. Are we going to make a new thread here for everyone that invents specs and pretends to be an insider?

Guys, I can confirm that the following ps5 specs are genuine.
- Internal Memory - Hard Drive - 8 GB HDD - 128 KB Advanced Transfer Cache
- Media Type - CD Rom, DVD Rom
- CPU - Intel Pentium III - 733 MHz
- Processor Quantity - 1
- RAM- 64 MB DDR SDRAM
- Graphics Controller - NVIDIA GPU
- Sound - Surround Sound
- Network - Fast Ethernet
- Width - 12.6 in
- Depth - 10.2 in
- Height - 3.9 in
- Weight - 8.8 lbs
- Enclosure Material - Plastic
This is quite obviously fake, and not only that, not exaxtly balanced for a gaming system with a light OS.
Still, nice to dream.
Almost missed that. Oh wait, that's what you regularly do when you need to prove your own credibility except nobody asked for that in the first place.I guess they forgot that I'm the one who brought the PS4 & Wii U specs here

The seperate DDR4 gives it away - Althought PS4 has DDR3 memory for other functions, why you need 4 GBs of DDR4 just for the OS? Seems it has a lot of overhead. This is quite obviously fake, and not only that, not exaxtly balanced for a gaming system with a light OS.

Maybe they want to be future proof, have new system level stuff to manage, and also want extra overhead because of background apps running simultaneously with the game being played? My Ipad sure suggests that OS improvements take a lot more memory than they did a few years ago. So 4 GB for the OS that will run the machine for 6-10 years beginning in 1-2 years, does not sound crazy to my uninformed self.Almost missed that. It comes across as arrogant. When you post dozens of threads and the majority is obviously wrong then yeah, eventually one small thing will be right. Does not mean you are a credible source whatsoever.
Care to address my questions in my original post

One thing you could reasonably speculate from given history is that the PS5 OS will be FreeBSD/NetBSD based. See, that's actually a plausible claim to make and discussion worthy since it has a historical background.
OS overhead can be done much more effectively on console i reckon.Maybe they want to be future proof, have new system level stuff to manage, and also want extra overhead because of background apps running simultaneously with the game being played? But whatever, I am purely guessing / speculating. But since we all like to do that, let's be nicer to people with any track record. These threads are fun.
Why do you not believe his claim? You have no problems supporting another random claim either way...Why do you say that?

That is the problem MS is facing along with the continuation consoles now have as one side might draw users away from the other instead of expand the console playerbase.it's a better start again for Sony.
I was being satirical.Aside from memory it falls in line with other rumours excluding the built-in VR. Right or wrong it's consistent.

Yes, lets promote this kind of behavior where zero factfinding can exist.. just one step closer to making homegrown GAF spam.A mod verification is like saying the Easter Bunny exist because Santa exist. Anyone, mod or not, can be wrong or right and still have no inside knowledge of anything . Guessing any part of a future console based on AMD tech is not hard at this point and time.
I say put away the "Mod Verified or Its BS" sign and just join the fun.
This setup is essentially the same as a guy designing a new car that goes super fast, because it has a really fast engine but uses wooden tyres.. but 9 of them.
It's not right. It doesn't balance. The core count versus the clock speed of the cpu versus the memory split and amount and then the target speeds of the gpu...?
Look, there WILL be dev kits, and their specs will be far higher than retail units and yes, not balanced either. But creating a good setup isn't a hard task, it's a day to day thing for pc enthusiasts. You don't make a 6 inch tall cup and try to fill it with 4 pints of water. This is just, well I'll be honest, it's reading like what a fanboy would write.
It's that silly I don't even feel the need to go into it too much, but just think of the most basic of basic issues, price. You're telling me a GTX 2080, which is around 14 flops I believe (though don't quote me here this is memory), costs around £500... Yet Sony, a company that put price premiums on what they sell, is going to sell you a 14tf gpu, with an 8 core £200-£300 cpu, a 2TB hdd (not much these days), and 20gb of gddr6 ram which is currently buggered in terms of getting wide release and has a 70% price hike over gddr5...
...on top of the console itself, the controler, packaging, cost to retail, leads, and a likely hefty price premium for having SONY in the front...?
All for the the same £500...?
Come on boys, wake up. This shits insane. They would have to be taking a MASSIVE hit per unit to get this done.
Lower your expectations. Who knows what the future will bring. I anticipate around 11-12flops with no more than 16gb ram.
I remember shamepain and a "conduit" poster from GAF before, on the next gen racing thread, they were pretty informative guys..."This data are 100% correct and about the lastet dev-kits sony has sent to devs, i've a trustworthy friend in the industry who've access to PS5 dev-kit and of course i can prove it"
