I'm not wild about
the fact that Penner is coming back when he was only taken out in his second time. I love the guy, but it kind of goes against the idea of the season in my mind. I would have prefered someone like Bruce who really didn't get a shot to finish the game.

I agree.
I'd even be against Bruce because Bruce at least got to sit in on the Jury. Gary from Fiji, Joe from Tocantins (although he was boring as shit), even Kourtney who broke her arm in the very first challenge this season...I think all would have been okay choices, although Jonathan is probably going to get the biggest fan response next to Skupin.

Yeah, that's pretty lame if true.

Well, that finale fit in pretty well with the rest of the season. Predictable and boring. Kudos to Kim for taking advantage of such a weak cast. It's pretty telling though that Jeff talked to her or about her for about 3 minutes at the finale.

Jeff's been pulling this shit for awhile now. He's more interested in talking to random celebrities in the audience than actually engaging with the cast.

The random celebrities thing was annoying. I don't think Jeff had much to work with though. Aside from Colton and Alicia acting like morons, this season was pretty uneventful. If you are barely talking to the winner, you are spending 10 minutes on Tarzan's love life, and you are talking to random celebrities, then you are struggling for material.

But there was plenty of material; enough for a 40-minute reunion show, at least. I would have loved to hear the thought processes of some of the contestants on certain moves made. Kim said the decision to vote out Jonas was hugely consequential—I would have loved to hear other contestants' take on that. Did Sabrina really feel she could beat Kim at the end? Did she ever seriously consider jumping ship? Do Kat/Christina/Alicia regret not going along with Troy's desperation move? What kind of path to the end did Jay see?

Jeff is the only person who can and should host the show, but these last several reunion shows have been painful, awkward affairs.

Yeah, I would have loved to hear all of that, and what Troyzan thought the correct answer to his question was. There are a lot of questions that we could have had answered, instead of hearing Jeff grill Tarzan's wife or random celebrities.

For me, I think Tocantins was where the reunion shows started going off the rails. Since then we've gotten more and more of the going out into the audience stuff, beginning with Eddie George getting more time than half the cast of Tocantins.

whats with the kim saltiness, kim will probably go down as the great woman winner ever ( i still can't believe sandra is a 2 timer unbelievable ) i have no problem with her getting favorite on top of winning it all. troy and jonas just didn't last long enough. i will admit i at first was against kim because she was getting the winner's edit early, and some of my faves were on the mens team. but i don't understnad why ppl aren't giving her due in this thread, she is by far the most deserving winner this season, and might be the best womans survivor ever.

Kim played well enough to win, but I wouldn't call it a great win, nor would I put her in the top tier of women who have won the game.

She played against idiots and fools who all fell lock step in line behind her, not because she was a master strategist, but because the people she was playing with were in fact, all morons.

Most of the cast were unlikeable and stupid and I believe if you look far enough back in the thread, I called it on day 1 when the casting was announced. A bunch of meat heads, models, and morons.

I think something that should have gotten more time being discussed was the idiocy that was the guys giving up immunity to go to tribal.... they barely touched on it and to me that was the pivotal moment where the power switched from the men to the women.

These people were so dumb. Great move Chelsea making all the bitter jury members hate you instead of Kim and then basically state reasons why people should vote for Kim. Didn't care about any of the finalists. Alicia is so damn ridiculous. She is supposed to ask the finalists a question and goes on bragging about herself for the next 3 minutes. Out of finalists the right person won based on how they played, but still none of them were really likeable.

Survivor: Philippines has already been shot in its entirety.
Supposedly, Season 26
rumored to be another Fans vs. Favorites season with possible returnees including Phillip Sheppard
is set to start taping within about a week or so.

Colton's mom needs to dress him better.

Congrats Kim, you're the best of the worst. The most insipid season of Survivor I can remember. With the exception of Colton, I never want to see a single one of them on the show again.

the first half of the season will deliver to a point... and then the same predictable crap happens in the second half. i know its a tall order, but damn, you'd think by now they'd have a better formula for type casting. its always the brain dead players and the obvious "winner". every episode up to the finale is the same, wishing they'd cut the puppet strings and vote one of the controlling players out. it never comes. if they wake up and play, its too late to do anything.

at this point, i've begun to applaud the seasons where the leech player up ends the plan by actually winning.

amazing final episode I got to say. Kim .... really really bloody well deserved the win. That final challenge was freaking heart stopping; It wasn't one of the SUPER challenges they sometimes had but what they had was really nerve wracking to watch - I was on the verge of throwing up from nervousness at her having that do that challenge. It was so damn great.

The savagery vs COLTON is... fucking awesome. sucks to be him. everyone just hates hi,.

lol @ Alicia bawling overthe speical needs backlash

btw.. went posts up the page and I LOVE SANDRA!!!!
she was such a great sly come from behinder; and her speeches at final tribal were amazing both times. She sold it.

Popularity award was more awkward to me simply because Jeff gave it a tiny bit of suspense and then quickly threw that away and gave it to Kim, which had a few of the cast members sputtering.

If nothing else, Kim did a good job of legitimizing the power the game again in Survivor. I was afraid we might have lost it to bitterness and Natalie-Theory. Picking Chelsea and Sabrina seemed like such an obvious mistake at first, but in retrospect Chelsea was as good as Christina, only without the inevitable Ponderosa outrage that would have came if Chelsea had been sent packing beforehand.

Re: "Evac Season" Having three tribes at the start is interesting. The last season to start at 3 was what, All Stars 1?

I tell you what. she won a lot of credit with me for keeping sabrina and chelsea. She really did. Not many seasons of survivor has the final 3/4/5 not wavered and cannibalised each other.

also want to add: fucking christina was such a fcking sad pathetic shit at 2nd last tribal; honestly, what a waste of space on the show. Absolutley worthless.

/oh shrug... what can I do....

What a shitty season. Was really looking forward to this season with the twist of one shared island, but a shit cast in a decent twist won't change much. :/

Is it time for Big Brother yet? :lol Actually anyone know anything about this Glass house show? Haven't heard anything about it other than it being a ripoff of BB. I'd like to know more about the structure of the show. Sorry for being off topic.

Well honestly the right person won, she definitely played the game the best this season. I'm surprised she kept Sabrina and Chelsea as well, but it worked out for her without making her seem like such a bad person in my eyes. :)

I would of loved Sabrina to of got player of the season, surprised she wasn't even in the top four. She made me tear up with her story on the last day when she woke up that morning, I usually don't feel for these things either.

And ugh at another season with returning players... I wish they just saved them all for the all-stars seasons instead of randomly casting them with new tribe members. Makes the actual all-stars seasons have less impact. I admit I do like the idea of having players evacuated to come back to play, but it should only be for players that played once.

I feel like if we really study the outcomes, Kim's decision had some good game theory behind it too. This is just a hunch, but I get the feeling the vote might be a lot closer if Kim backstabbed Chelsea, sending a fresh reminder and a cup of emotional poison to the jury.

I give Christina a bit of credit for what she said at reunion. In sales you definitely get that mental shell, which makes her game a lot more understandable. But I take away the credit because she chose to hide under that shell for most of the game and never bothered to strike back with it.

(cut to Russell shouting "it worked for Natalie!")

Well,
Penner will probably be the only interesting person on the season, so we'll have to make do.

Exactly this. Returning players suck all possibilities of new contestants joining that pool of possible returning players themselves so we only have him to watch now.

Oh god.
How can it be a Fans vs Favorites when Philip is nowhere near a Favorite?
At least I have Seasons 1-20 I can go back and watch whenever. And now I'm slowly replacing the iTunes versions with DVDs.

What a terrible season. Like Colton said as soon as he left the game got boring. Whether this was worse than Thailand it's hard to say. That's the only other season I can remember being this bad. Although at that point the show was newer so they probably didn't have as many past seasons to learn from as these people had.

I'm kind of wondering if Sabrina was really much better of a player than Christina. She seem to play a pretty similar game she just got in with a good alliance at the start.

I also wonder if anything mattered after Troyzan left. Would any of those people have voted kim out even if she didn't have immunity, also could any of them beat her it the final vote. Troyzan may have been her final threat and after he was out she was just picking runner up positioning.

A bland, dull, predictable, SHITCAKES end to a bland, dull, predictable, SHITCAKES season. They need to stop bringing in 3 finalists, it's a complete waste of time for one of them.

That said, the deserving player won.

I also wonder if anything mattered after Troyzan left.

Nothing mattered after Mike left because with it, went the 6-6 numbers between the men and women. Getting rid of Mike, at least to me, was the turning point. Once the men got down in numbers after the merge, everything else was just a formality and nothing at all interesting happened, other than maybe the Kat blindside.

This. Once the guys lost numbers no one but Kim had a chance. None of the girls were even thinking about voting Kim out and seemed like they just wanted to fight over who was her BFF.

I don't think there is any chance in the world that Chelsea would have been mad at Kim, or voted against Kim. Kim had some kind of weird voodoo magic working on Chelsea, and Kat. I'm not sure either one of them wanted themselves to win over Kim.

Yeah, the final Ponderosa videos (especially the "jury's last day" video) make it abundantly clear that Kim was the consensus choice. Alicia and Kat sounded enthusiastic to vote for her, and it sounds like Jay and Jonas had their minds made up long before the final tribal council. Troy comes off as bitter (not surprisingly), and it was pretty clear that Leif was Team Sabrina from his exit interviews.

Christina's video shows just how delusional she was, though. She took her warm greeting at Ponderosa as a sign that "oh my god, I could have won this thing!"

Interesting. On EW Jeff sort of called out this season as not being that interesting, but thinks Philippines is a return to form...

I would like to hope it's because it was just a mediocre cast and not because past survivors weren't playing.

The show is at it's best when you get a good group of smart people who aren't out to be on TV with no returning players. Watching Season 1 again I would kill to go back to that. Watching the tribe joking around at Tribal Council, Jeff acting friendly, smart players, so much fun.

Earlier in the season, Probst (who is not only host, but also a producer) said that Colton was someone the audience "truly despises" and "I can’t imagine celebrating Colton and bringing him back."

In today's EW interview, he now says, "I do think Colton will probably be on the show again and I would guess he’ll play a similar game."

Great...

Yeah, they often are. I love Ponderosa. This season's videos weren't even that great, by Ponderosa standards -- until Alicia showed up, that is.

I wonder if they will start showing ponderosa clips like they do with the jury recaps in big brother.... would have been useful esp on a season like this where it was pretty boring towards the end in terms of the order in which people were leaving.

They'll vote him out first or 2nd. He had no skill whatsoever except that he made everyone afraid since he had an Immunity idol handed to him. No way he lasts with a smart group of players.

I can see how it would be helpful, since the final Ponderosa videos went a long way toward showing why Kat gave the final TC speech she did. She got all of her anger out at Alicia at Ponderosa. If she hadn't had that opportunity, her performance would likely have been very different.

I think you're right. If on a season with new players, he'll get offed early -- like Russell was on Redemption Island -- because they don't trust him. And if he's with returning players, they'll get rid of him because they don't trust him and they may not like him, either.

Good, he's the only one that deserves to be back.

Kim deserved it, but a win without any glory. This season kinda reminded me of Boston Rob last season, where he won by controlling dumb people. However, I feel like Rob's win was a lot more impressive since everyone knew who he was, how good he was, etc. Still managed to fool them.

What? I don't understand this. By far the most hateful person they have ever had, I just don't see any good in bringing him back.
I agree with this. If Colton would have just apologized to Bill and Leif and possibly Christina at the reunion then he could have won some people back over to his side. It's pretty obvious that he wasn't sorry at all and could care less. I'm not really interested in ever seeing him again.

Yup, such a terrible terrible season. She played everyone and everyone was retarded enough to believe her.

I don't get why anyone would think this is a terrible season. The winner was a deserving winner, everybody in the game got interesting edits aside from Leif, there wasn't one singular person shoved down our throats, plus there were no returning players. Also everyone was there to play and there weren't any idiotic quitters. It's easy to retcon and say it's "boring and predictable" after the season's played out, but going into the merge 6-6, did we expect total woman domination? Hell, after the first two episodes the women were a mess.

This season is probably one of the best in recent memory for me. I'd take this season over either of the Redemption Island seasons, which were just as "boring" and "predictable" except the editing was even worse: focus on nothing but Ozzy/Coach/Cochran/Brandon last season, and Rob/Phillip in the previous season. Nicaragua was okay but was plagued with quitters. Before that, we had Russell dominating the edit of Samoa and Heroes vs. Villains.

I liked this season a lot. I didn't mind the domination by Kim because honestly, this is one of the first times a strong female seriously dominated the game and was good at it. It was refreshing to see a strong woman get a great edit and control the game. I have no problems with a by-the-numbers season if the winner deserves it and it was entertaining along the way.

So there is apparently some information out there regarding season 26 (the one after next) which starts filming next week. The rumour is:

SEASON 26 CAST SPOILERS:
It's going to be a Fans VS Favourites season. The returning players will be:

Males - Cochran, Brandon, Phillip, Shane and Troyzan

Females - Brenda, Kat, Shambo, Corinne and Francesca

Just as an aside, does anyone actually care about the cast being spoiled? I put it in spoilers just in case, but that's something that never bothered me.
