Switch 1 OLED or Switch 2 (LCD?) for a newcomer?

What's a better choice for the next several years for a person, who hasn't owned Nintendo's console?

Switch 2 as it'll just run games better and you'll have access to new games.

OLED also isn't that big of an improvement, and burn-in will eventually be an issue no matter what.

Now, if you were comparing the Switch 2 with a Switch Lite, then there'd be more to debate.

The OLED then. The LCD sucks for a handheld. Not only is it lower quality screen, but the ugly bezel is from 1999. OLED is vastly superior if you are going to use it in anything but docked mode. The screen on the OLED is just so good and the old screen is just so shit that you can't compare them.

Gross exaggeration. That could be levelled at the PS Vita, as the 2000 had an especially shit LCD, but even the launch Switch had an okay LCD. The Mariko revision was better and the Switch 2 is likely to have a decent one too.

Get a used switch oled. The swtich 2 will be more expensive. The games willbe cross gen. Nintendo will not forget about the 150millions of switch sold.

I really can't fathom how Nintendo is going to use LCD, but that's what the rumours say. I hope they are wrong.

I'd say Switch OLED personally.

Everything is written in the title and question to the poll, see no reason to add anything.
This choice depends solely on what you want to get.

If you want to play old and new Nintendo games, and even some dowgraded ports from PS5 and XBOX SeX, you should choose Switch 2 LCD

If you are fine with playing only old Nintendo games and ports from PS3 era, and highly downgraded ports from PS4 era, but with OLED screen, you can choose Switch OLED
